I missed the Matt Brown vs Demian Maia fight
I was watching King Mo vs Mr Wonderful

Another solid performance from Maia. He's been really dominant his past number of fights. He's confident and humble ... current 5-fight win streak and he held his own prior to that in his 2 previous losses (Rory MacDonald and Jake Shields). He had Rory in trouble early in their fight, and the Shields fight was a jiu-jitsu clinic from both fighters. So many sub attempts, transitions & more.

Caught the King Mo / Phil Davis fight. Both were hesitant throughout ... but that 3rd round was fun when Davis caught him late.

That's 5 wins in a row for Maia.
I gotta catch the replay.

Maia has been very effective since he went down in weight
coming down from middleweight to welterweight

Yeah - he's fun to watch with his jits mastery. He's basically the MJ of the game at the moment. Dominating aggressive opponents while taking minimal damage in the process.

His ju-jitsu is on another level. He wears them down with his top ground game. Matt Brown usually grinds his opponents, but Maia kept taking him down. I can't wait to see him fight against a top 5 opponent like Condit or Rory MacDonald.

Agreed. There was a dope stat that came out after the weekend. Apparently Maia has only taken 10 - 12 significant strikes across his past 3 fights combined. He's also openly said in interviews that he's not in there to get into brawls or try and injure his opponents, he's there to compete at the highest level & showcase his skills. Always a good listen in interviews. I'm hoping we've still got a few fights left in Condit. He hinted at retirement after the loss to Lawler in the title fight in Jan. 2016 (great fight). As for Maia-MacDonald ... they originally competed back in Feb. 2014 (got Fight of the Night honors). Maia held his own for the first round or two ... but gradually Rory took over later on ... it would be fun to watch them rematch given all the tough match-ups they've faced in the past 2+ years ...

Fucking Weidman is out with an injury. I swear Dana White really fucked over the MMA Gods.

Yeah man - so many injuries in the sport (especially for mains and co-mains). Apparently Weidman has pulled out of 4 title fights in the past 25 months or something along those lines.

Sounds like Rockhold still wants to stay on the card, and people that want that shot = Jacare Souza, Michael Bisping, Yoel Romero, Derek Brunson, etc.
