Can someone explain to me why the Autobots had Earth vehicular modes when they hadn't made it to Earth yet?

Yeah as a transformers purist... that was probably my only real complaint but War for cybertron video game sort of did the same thing... I guess with just six episodes they didn’t want to really confuse people by having them transform to shit that looked so much alike.

The figures designs that were used for the CGI models are "Cybertronian"....

For instance here is Prowl from this series. Looks more "alien":

And here is Prowl for the sequel when they reach Earth:

Slight differences but not as drastic as original G1 cybertronian designs. These figures are based on a similar design afterall. It's cheaper for Hasbro.

Glad they kept the Seekers tetrajet designs...

It’s looking like the debut will happen either in November or December of this year.

Netflix has not put out a debut date at this time.

Most likely they may drop it just before or during the time the Mandalorian new season drops to compete against it.

Netflix dropped a shitload of new stuff last year when the Mandalorian debut, it’s looking like they will repeat it this year.

Keep your eye out.

Watched Earthrise. I understand that they are doing there own timeline and in some cases it's an improvement from the original cartoon series. However, it's starting to feel like they are just throwing in characters as fan service. They also have characters repeating the same mistakes from the prior season/series and it somewhat contradicts the characters behavior from the last season.

I'm curious to see how this ends next season, but this season really didn't do much to move the overall story. The dynamic between Optimus Prime and Megatron are good but the season feels too short. Clearly Beast Wars is going to be a part of next season, but im not sure if the Autobots and Decepticons being active will contradict a key element of the BWs story. It'll be interesting to see how they get around it or if they'll just remove the element all together. Ironically that same element could explain why the Autobots and Decepticons weren't active during the Beast Wars.

So far, I've overall enjoyed the character development in this rendition, but they probably should have just focused on the war on cybertron and maybe the events before the war.

As a HUUUUUUGE TF fan, I was a bit disappointed with the first season as I was hoping we'd get more backstory of what led up to the actual war.

I'll have to accept that a show will not go as in depth as the first run in IDW comics did.

Their cadence of speaking is a bit annoying as well.

Optimus Prime. I missed the original cartoon miniseries version, the "giant robot John Wayne(may his racist ass rest in piss)" type when he talked mad shit to Megatron.

Still pissed about what they did to my boy Magnus :hmm: .

You know what. You made me realize why I'm not into the series as much as I thought I would have been. It not the John Wayne thing per say, but the Transformers don't have much of a personality. Everyone is boring and serious all the time. I know it's a story about war and I don't expect it to be a comedy for lack of better words. However, the characters feel more robotic than sentient alien robots with emotions. I don't necessarily want the characters to be portrayed in a cartoonish manner, but they are lacking what made them special. Star Scream still has the same type of behavior but he doesn't have the same feel or energy as in pervious renditions.

The different timeline thing is also throwing me off. Depending on what occurs next session they are going to change the things we know about the Beast Wars. Without spoiling they already introduced something that was a big part of the Beast Wars. From what I remember, the way the Beast Wars reference is introduced, may somewhat cause a continuity error. Even the help that Megatron is given doesn't make sense at this point given the past Transformer stories.

I'm just lost about what the show is trying to be at this point. Is it a bridge series with a bit of reimaging, an alternative timeline or completely it's own thing. If it is its own thing, why introduce time travel. You are over complicating something that you are rewriting anyway. The only way it somewhat makes sense is if someone insisted on throwing in fan favorite characters.

It is amazing how much the actor Jake foushee sounds like the real Optimus Prime when it is not Peter Cullen

You say Peter Cullen and mfs look like  But you say Optimus Prime and mfs light up like the 4th of July. Also... In days of long ago (Voltron Opening)

I don't know how to post that Billy Dee Williams clapping GIF, but y'all need to Pat yourself on the back. Thank y'all so much for giving me something new to watch that's entirely entertaining

This was a good series. They didn't use Peter Cullen but the guy that used for Optimus Prime's voice sounded like Peter Cullen a lot. There were some points where his voice clearly did not sound like Peter Cullen, but for the most part he was close enough. Good series though
