Tiger Woods injured in rollover crash

Oddly enough, I don't think the leg injuries will end his career. It's still the back injuries that are the worst IMO.

Unfortunately they won’t allow him to play golf like he’s shooting pool, so right now those legs might be kinda important.

Wow.....so did he fracture......
Both Tibia's + Both Fibula's + his right ankle + his right foot ??? :eek2:
I think that was similar to what happened with QB Alex Smith?
Except Alex Smith had multiple fractures to only 1 leg
Jesus Christ.....Ouch !!!

Gonna be interesting to hear full details and the recovery process in the future. He’s very fortunate it wasn’t worse, from the sound of things. I had a near-accident a few years back on the highway one morning. Got cut off and brake-checked and ended up skidding along doing full 360 rotations; felt like one or two. Fortunately didn’t flip and roll the car, but was very close to doing so. If I had over-corrected the wheel more, I would be paralyzed or dead. Really scary.

Yeah good point
But I guess it all depends on how fast Tiger was speeding
Only going like 50-60 mph with all that damage might not be a good look
But every accident is different
So you never can tell

:dunno::dunno::dunno:

Speed makes a bigger difference than you think. A survivable crash at 40Mph can kill you if you were going 50 because that speed is more likely to cancel out the effectiveness of airbags, cages, padding, etc. To put in numbers, at his weight, with a seatbelt on, a 40Mph crash is like you getting hit with 15,075 pounds of mass. at 50Mph it's 23,555. Without a seatbelt, it would be 75,375/117,773 pounds respectively. Getting hit with any of those amounts of mass can kill you.

Coloradans driving over 50 mph not as safe as they may think, new AAA study finds (denverpost.com)

The study crashed vehicles at three speeds — 40, 50 and 56 mph — and measured sensors on corresponding crash test dummies representing an average-sized man to determine a human’s extent of injuries.

The impact of a crash at 40 mph represented a 15% risk of serious or worse overall injury, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. However, the collision at 50 miles per hour indicated a 59% risk while the 56 mph crash indicated a 78% risk of serious or worse injury.

“What we commonly perceive as safe — 50, 60, 70 mph are what the speed limits are set up as — but, generally, if you’re going the speed limit, and it’s above 50, you’re not safe,” said Skyler McKinley, spokesman for AAA Colorado. “The speed limit is not the safe flow of traffic based off this research.”

If you knew about incident you’d know the reasons for each accident.

Tracy Morgan - Sleepy Walmart driver to my knowledge.

Errol Spence - I could be wrong but I believe he was drunk leaving the club.

Kevin Hart - I heard stories but not exactly sure.

Kanye - ?

Sheriff's dept. executes search warrant on Tiger Woods' car: 'Trying to determine if a crime was committed'

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's department executed a search warrant to investigate the black box from the car Tiger Woods crashed last week.

Sheriff’s Deputy John Schloegl confirmed to USA Today on Tuesday that the department sought data from the car to determine if criminal charges were necessary. He characterized the warrant as due diligence, according to the report.

“We’re trying to determine if a crime was committed,” Schloegl said, per USA Today. “If somebody is involved in a traffic collision, we’ve got to reconstruct the traffic collision, if there was any reckless driving, if somebody was on their cell phone or something like that.
"We determine if there was a crime. If there was no crime, we close out the case, and it was a regular traffic collision.”
Schloegl's statement contradicts Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who declared last week that the single-car rollover was "purely an accident."

Villanueva last week: 'This is nothing like' reckless driving
Villanueva told reporters on Wednesday that officials would investigate the black box to determine cause, but ruled out charges of reckless driving or otherwise.

"No," Villanueva said when asked if Woods could face a reckless driving charge. "A reckless driving charge has a lot of elements into it. This is purely an accident."
Villanueva then explained that investigators would seek to determine if a driving infraction was warranted.

"Reckless driving is actually more than an infraction," Villanueva continued. "That's a misdemeanor crime that has a lot of elements attached to it. This is nothing like that."
Officials address contradicting statements
Villanueva made that statement a day after the crash and prior to the completion of the investigation, which is still ongoing. The Sheriff's department issued the following statement to USA Today to address the conflicting information provided by Villanueva and Schloegl:

“The Sheriff spoke about the information known at that time, and said it appeared to be a traffic accident,” the statement reads, per USA Today. “However, the traffic collision investigation is (on)going and traffic investigators have not made any conclusions as to the cause of the collision.”

Deputy: 'No probable cause' to obtain blood sample
The Sheriff's Department continues to rule out intoxication playing a role in the crash. Villanueva said on the day of the accident that there "was no evidence of impairment" on the scene.

Schloegl told USA Today that law enforcement did not seek a warrant to examine blood that might have been collected from Woods at the hospital. He said that Woods had been cooperative and that there was "no probable" cause for a warrant.

Latest on Woods' condition
Woods underwent emergency surgery to repair multiple fractures of his right leg and a shattered right ankle. The accident took place on a winding stretch of road south of Los Angeles known as a hot spot for accidents. Woods was driving downhill when his car hit a median and rolled before coming to a stop in a gully.

Woods remained hospitalized over the weekend for followup procedures with his team declaring that he was "recovering and in good spirits."

There have been no updates on Woods' condition since he tweeted his thanks on Sunday after fellow PGA Tour golfers honored him by wearing his trademark red shirt and black pants at the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship.
