I'm a firm believer that most old wrestling personalities who currently host podcasts always say controversial or dumb shit because they know people will engage with them on social media or tune into their shows.
Kurt Angle and X-Pac may be the only ones who aren't controversial.
So many people are ready to hate or dismiss what he says because they don't like him and just don't care about the criticism that he gives, and a lot of times incorrectly quote him. I listened to the show, What he said was,
"I still don't think that Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky are working at the same rate that they did in NXT, maybe the same comfort level that they did in NXT, I'm sure that they will get there..."
For them to give them PPV match time and end on a DQ was weak. A DQ ending on TV should happen within the first ten minutes. After that there should be a clear winner and loser.
It ruins so many promo and moments. And it's lost all meaning.
After a injury like that just be happy to still be able to live a normal life again. No need to ever step in the ring again.
Honestly it might be time for New Day to step back as a whole. Let Xavier further explore his opportunities as a gaming content creator and Kofi can do promotions and ambassador work like Titus. They should have rebuilt Titus O'Neill image and have Big E train him in the Art of Power wrestling, Show BIG E teaching Titus his movesets sort of like Apollo Creed training Rocky Balboa. Have Titus join the New Day with BIG E as Coach/Manager
Real talk Dakota And Io ain’t hitting on the main roster. That’s why they were put with Bayley. I never been that crazy about Dakota cause she does have that ‘IT’ factor or character to differentiate her from everyone else. Io has the English barrier and really got over in NXT on her ring work.
the WWE main roster needs more than just good wrestling to get behind someone. Hopefully over time the new regime will help change the viewing habits of fans and some workers become better sports entertainers
All 3 are coming off of a long hiatus. Bayley and Io were both injured, and Dakota was released. A lot of ring rust, but they will fix that with more reps. That group doesn't make sense, there's no backstory to them, so a lot of people just don't get it.
I don't think Io will have an issue on the main roster, presentation, right now is the problem. They just put her in a random team. Io has gotten over everywhere she has been, language has never been a problem. Dakota, I don't know, again, presentation seems to be the issue with her as well.
