I just want them to give somebody a monster push and let them beat Taker. Like after Taker beats HHH again, on the way to the back, Taker walks by an up-and-coming talent in the back to kind of foreshadow the match. They subtlety push the guy the whole year, get him some good victories, make him look like a solid guy, then have they guy challenge Taker and beat him clean. And I think it should be a technical guy, a guy who can really wrestle, and has charisma like a young, Chris Jericho/Kurt Angle kind of guy.
They've had an entire year to do that and they didn't and a part of me thinks that intentional so that they would have to wedge HHH into another match with Taker.
I honestly don't want to see anymore Taker matches period. If he was going to pass the torch to a younger guy, they should have done it years ago. At this point I would rather see him just make a appearance this year to play to the crowd. They can do the black out thing, throw up 19 and 0 in flames, do some fancy pyro and lightning effects, and let Taker leave undefeated.
They don't have a Brock-level young guy anywhere on the roster that I would like to see beat Taker. Barrett and Sheamus (heel) were close to that level last year, but they've both done nothing since going to Smackdown. And I damn sure don't want to see HHH pat himself on the back by being the guy to end the streak. He does NOT need the win or the big PPV payday.
Either Sheamus, Barrett, or McIntyre would have been good but none of them have had a sustained push so now it's too late and them beating Taker now wouldn't be as significant.
There were only 3 people who could've ended the streak and that's Kane(98) Orton(05) or Cena(06-07).
I agree with each of those and I thought they were going to go in the Cena direction a couple years ago.
I thought the year he faced Ric Flair he should have lost (it was the first time they really started talking up "The Streak") and he should have lost to either Batista or Edge, younger guys who were going to be on tv and the road regularly.
Ending the streak with either Kane in 98 with the rise of Taker's brother storyline or Orton in 05 with the legend killer storyline, would have been perfect. They failed to strike while the iron was hot, which is why I say just let the man retire undefeated.
I don't want to see anyone on the current roster get that victory. Even worst, I don't want them to give it to a guy and then fuck up his push, so the win ends up being meaningless. We all know they excel at dropping pushes, so that could be a reality if they let anyone on the current roster end the streak.
While I think him retiring undefeated at Mania isn't the right thing, the way they handle pushes now, ^^ is the way I see it now.
the only person I could imagine at WM getting a huge pop beside Rock would be Shaq being that he started his career in Orlando and he came and helped Miami win their only NBA title so far so I couldnt see how he would be in the heel role besides the two of them have butted heads once before
Shaq doesn't have to be a heel either. They
can just have it as a match with both being faces and they shake hands after the match.
If they would have gone with Brodus Clay as the huge unstoppable monster I think that he would be a candidate for the honor.
Especially if he had a crazy run at the Rumble Sunday night and crushes someone at Elimination Chamber ppv, maybe even in the Chamber match.
Its crazy how Big Show has ended up as fodder for one time, visiting celebrities at Wrestlemania. If he gets Shaq that can be added to his match with Floyd Mayweather and his sumo match against Akebono.
On the other side I didn't realize that people like Booker T, Jericho, and Punk all have losing records and that Jeff Hardy has never won at Mania.
Crazy, right?
Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton could be good. I can't figure out how Mark Henry is gonna fit in unless they put him in Money in the Bank or put the belt back on him.
That match will be good if Randy is still working as hard as he has been since coming to SD. He's going to win of course but the match will be good.
Bryan vs. Orton could be dope. I think it sucks that it's Mania, and only 4 matches are going to possibly be interesting. I don't think Cena vs. Rock will end clean. There will be some kind of interference.
Unless they have something in mind involving Rock and a rematch or some tag matches, it almost has to be clean. If Rock is one and done, the only way a finish with interference makes sense is if Rock beats Cena because of a third party and Cena feuds with that guy coming out of Mania. But it would suck for Rock to not get a clean win (if they go in that direction).
