/\ I agree. Triple H beating Taker would feel like he just threw his weight around just so he could add another line to his resume. As if being a 13-time heavyweight champion wasn't enough. The victory and the streak would mean nothing to end it with HHH's ego.

There were only 3 people who could've ended the streak and that's Kane(98) Orton(05) or Cena(06-07).

Ending the streak with either Kane in 98 with the rise of Taker's brother storyline or Orton in 05 with the legend killer storyline, would have been perfect. They failed to strike while the iron was hot, which is why I say just let the man retire undefeated.

I don't want to see anyone on the current roster get that victory. Even worst, I don't want them to give it to a guy and then fuck up his push, so the win ends up being meaningless. We all know they excel at dropping pushes, so that could be a reality if they let anyone on the current roster end the streak.

They don't have to turn Show for a match with Shaq. It will depend on how the fans receive Shaq to see what they'll do with Show. Floyd Mayweather was supposed to be the babyface at first for his Mania match with Show but the fans booed the shit out of him and they flipped him (which was the right way to go in the first place).

the only person I could imagine at WM getting a huge pop beside Rock would be Shaq being that he started his career in Orlando and he came and helped Miami win their only NBA title so far so I couldnt see how he would be in the heel role besides the two of them have butted heads once before

If they would have gone with Brodus Clay as the huge unstoppable monster I think that he would be a candidate for the honor.

Its crazy how Big Show has ended up as fodder for one time, visiting celebrities at Wrestlemania. If he gets Shaq that can be added to his match with Floyd Mayweather and his sumo match against Akebono.

On the other side I didn't realize that people like Booker T, Jericho, and Punk all have losing records and that Jeff Hardy has never won at Mania.

Honestly, besides Cena vs Rock, and Punk vs Jericho. This Mania is going to be ass. I got a feeling Triple H will screw Taker. The MITB match should be pretty good, but the rest of the card is ass. And to be even more honest, unless they turn Cena, that match will probably be ass. :smh:

The Big Show is 3-8 and it will soon be 3-9, Mark Henry is 0-3, and Mr Wrestlemania Shawn Michaels was 6-11 in Wrestemania matches...but fucking Santino is 2-0

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton could be good. I can't figure out how Mark Henry is gonna fit in unless they put him in Money in the Bank or put the belt back on him.

Bryan vs. Orton could be dope. I think it sucks that it's Mania, and only 4 matches are going to possibly be interesting. I don't think Cena vs. Rock will end clean. There will be some kind of interference.

I just want them to give somebody a monster push and let them beat Taker. Like after Taker beats HHH again, on the way to the back, Taker walks by an up-and-coming talent in the back to kind of foreshadow the match. They subtlety push the guy the whole year, get him some good victories, make him look like a solid guy, then have they guy challenge Taker and beat him clean. And I think it should be a technical guy, a guy who can really wrestle, and has charisma like a young, Chris Jericho/Kurt Angle kind of guy.

They've had an entire year to do that and they didn't and a part of me thinks that intentional so that they would have to wedge HHH into another match with Taker.

I honestly don't want to see anymore Taker matches period. If he was going to pass the torch to a younger guy, they should have done it years ago. At this point I would rather see him just make a appearance this year to play to the crowd. They can do the black out thing, throw up 19 and 0 in flames, do some fancy pyro and lightning effects, and let Taker leave undefeated.

They don't have a Brock-level young guy anywhere on the roster that I would like to see beat Taker. Barrett and Sheamus (heel) were close to that level last year, but they've both done nothing since going to Smackdown. And I damn sure don't want to see HHH pat himself on the back by being the guy to end the streak. He does NOT need the win or the big PPV payday.

Either Sheamus, Barrett, or McIntyre would have been good but none of them have had a sustained push so now it's too late and them beating Taker now wouldn't be as significant.

I agree with each of those and I thought they were going to go in the Cena direction a couple years ago.
I thought the year he faced Ric Flair he should have lost (it was the first time they really started talking up "The Streak") and he should have lost to either Batista or Edge, younger guys who were going to be on tv and the road regularly.

While I think him retiring undefeated at Mania isn't the right thing, the way they handle pushes now, ^^ is the way I see it now.

Shaq doesn't have to be a heel either. They can just have it as a match with both being faces and they shake hands after the match.

If they would have gone with Brodus Clay as the huge unstoppable monster I think that he would be a candidate for the honor.

Especially if he had a crazy run at the Rumble Sunday night and crushes someone at Elimination Chamber ppv, maybe even in the Chamber match.

Crazy, right?

That match will be good if Randy is still working as hard as he has been since coming to SD. He's going to win of course but the match will be good.

Unless they have something in mind involving Rock and a rematch or some tag matches, it almost has to be clean. If Rock is one and done, the only way a finish with interference makes sense is if Rock beats Cena because of a third party and Cena feuds with that guy coming out of Mania. But it would suck for Rock to not get a clean win (if they go in that direction).

Just read an interview with Shane Douglas hyping his new Extreme Reunions shows coming up this spring and this part stood out to me about his tag team with Rick Steamboat against the Hollywood Blonds:

The topic of teaming with Ricky Steamboat and feud with the Hollywood Blonds is brought up. Originally, WCW was bringing Douglas and Marty Jannetty into the company to do a new Rockers gimmick. However, due to previous legal issues Marty wasn't signed. He says that Bill Watts was the guy who came up with the idea of Douglas teaming with Steamboat to help groom him into a main event spot. Also, the original concept for the Hollywood Blonds was for Douglas to team with Brian Pillman after turning on Ricky Steamboat. At the time, Douglas didn't think that the fans would buy into it and Watts ended up putting Steve Austin into the tag team instead. He felt that Austin made a better team with Pillman. He really enjoyed his time working with those three men.

Damn, big Mark

MARK HENRY INJURED AGAINby Mike Johnson @ 11:39 AM on 1/27/2012
Mark Henry suffered what is believed to have been a hyperextended knee at this past Tuesday's Smackdown taping in Tucson, Arizona. The injury, which will air on Smackdown tonight, occurred when Henry was throwing a punch and his knee moved forward before he had completely planted his foot during a move. Henry, who has been working through a groin issue, has had knee problems in the past.

The injury, which will air on Smackdown tonight, occurred when Henry was throwing a punch and his knee moved forward before he had completely planted his foot during a move. Henry, who has been working through a groin issue, has had knee problems in the past. The finish of Smackdown had to be changed on the fly due to the injury. The original plan was for Daniel Bryan to attack Big Show with a chair after Show had Henry down. Sghow would make a comeback, chokeslam Bryan and leave him for dead. The show would then end with Henry splashing the World champion, leaving his ability to overcome both contenders at the Rumble in doubt.
Instead, what airs on Smackdown tonight, according to Nate Tyler, who saw the Australian broadcast is: "They clearly call an audible as Henry collapses like he's been shot in the thigh and rolls outside and they go to commercial, however the finish (count-out) happens off-camera, with Bryan already attacking Show when they resume with Henry presumably already in the back getting treatment." Since Henry is such a trooper, he's likely to work the Rumble with this latest injury as well.

FLAIR!!!:smh: Batista would've been legit but with him it's possible he would've won then retired on smackdown the following week. For the people thinking HHH will win are seriously doubting the stroke Taker has in that company, if he says he's not losing then he's not. If HHH beats him then it was because Taker said it was ok. If Orton wasn't such a fucking screwup back then he could've been a monster name by now, because his whole legend killer gimmick was perfect for that match.

Yeah Flair. When the build up was happening, Flair was "retired" and GM or some shit and Taker wanted him at Mania and Flair refused over and over. That's when they started talking up Taker being undefeated so it wasn't like it was a big deal like it is now. Then Taker attacked Arn and finally beat the hell out of David Flair in a locker room. Flair relented and they had a hell of a match that included a beautiful Arn Spinebuster out of nowhere. He shouldn't have beat him clean but he should have won. They set the story up of Taker looking for a fight and the best way to handle it would have been for him to lose that fight.

For Big Dave, he was at the peak of his career but between the two, I think Edge would have been a better pick since he was undefeated at Mania as well.

I thought that Flair had a shot at winning that match but just knowing how Flair's career has gone him winning wouldn't have meant that much. Flair can afford to lose and is more than willing to do so just as Jericho is today. And yes that spinebuster by Arn was sweet.

I thought that Edge had technically lost by the time he fought Taker since he was in a MITB at Mania that he didn't win.

If they had booked it differently, then Flair losing would have made sense but it looked like they were going to give him a big Mania win as he was windind down his career (so it appeared then, 9 yrs ago).

Look potna, the truth is what WWE says it is, not what actually happened. They say Edge was undefeated, he was undefeated. Jim Ross even mentioned it during Edge's match with Foley at Mania 22
:smh: What are you, new?
:D:D

I get what you saying but fuck that. The WWE is also the same company that has a Hall of Fame featuring Koko B. Ware, Rocky Johnson and Drew Carey but not Randy Savage, Jake "The Snake" Roberts or Rick Rude.

Am I the only one who's annoyed that on Smackdown, instead of having a match and giving somebody some tv time who normally wouldn't get some, they show the entire last segment of Raw for 30 minutes?

That's some straight from Vince McMahon shit. I guess he didn't get the memo that most people aren't huge fans of the segment and hated Cena's acting in it.

I don't have a problem with Rocky Johnson being in before them, bruh was a headliner in different territories while all of them were still kids, but when Koko went in, what little credibility it had left.

No Scotty, you aren't the only one annoyed that they spend a lot of time on SD showing the main angle from Raw, like SD has fans Raw doesn't. By Friday, anybody that wants to see it, has already. But since SD is usually a decent to pretty good show, I let it go.

I think they added that shit in to make it look like he's really over. They made that shit sound like The Rock just came out.

SD is taped on tuesday so they add pops to make it seem like someone is over, if you notice it's the same sound they've been using since 03.

Does anyone besides me think that Barrett, Sheamus, and McIntyre would make an awesome "Great Britain" heel stable??? They need to do this in my opinion....with William Regal acting as an English J.J. Dillon.

Have you been playing wwe 12? Because they have that stable in the RTWM mode:lol:
