Wrestlers are just as bad as the fans. Everyone thinks they are the man and should get endless pushes and cry when they don't. Both of those dudes did that in WWE and were let go. Now they're doing it in AEW. I predict they'll eventually make their way back to WWE and do it all over again. There's just too much talent out there today to feature everyone all the time.

It's always WWE's fault when somebody doesn't get pushed. Miro and Andrade were in AEW way before Claudio but he got a championship match & belt in the first month he was there. Maybe Tony sees the same thing but of course he can do no wrong.

AEW's roster is bloated right now, and you're right, Tony treats new hires the same way kids treat new toys.
Excitement at first, but eventually the excitement wears off and the kid/TK wants another toy.
ROH doesn't have a TV deal and there's no guarantee they'll get one on a major platform, so you can't just offload half the roster there.
I predict a good number of guys going back to WWE once their AEW deal is up or even negotiating an early exit.

Yeah AEW needs to trim down some IMO. Vince was accused of the same thing too when they went on their talent hoarding phase. You can't have everyone in your promotion. Imagine if the NBA or NFL didn't have roster caps? Just dozens of dudes on the sidelines collecting checks doing nothing.

But this is what I don't get from these companies. Chris Jericho doesn't have to be at every show! Every other week you have one set of wrestlers and your champions and the wrestlers they're feuding with. The weeks in between you have another set and those same champions and the wrestlers they're feuding with.
 
If the whole current trend continues, and with Discovery/Warner Bros making it difficult for AEW to have a home (per rumors), I really see AEW struggling to find a place in wrestling by their sixth year mark.

The changes WWE recently made will put them in a better position for talent and to make more money and be more attractive to the networks and open for all wrestling fans.

AEW is already stale and only truly positioned themselves to be geared towards their (smart) fans and that will bite them.

They haven't grown their base and WWE is about to be that sleeping giant that just woke up.

They won't get to WWE level by catering to only the die-hards. But I don't see them going anywhere, unless Tony Kahn gets bored and decides to move on. If Impact and the NWA can survive this long, AEW/ROH can too. I know he's a die-hard fan and this is his dream, but I'm not sure if he's dedicated to running an indie promotion without some type of television deal attached.

Black and Gold NXT was great at balancing and rotating their roster. The only time I think they strated messing that up was when they kept Shayna as women's champ for far too long.

This is why I don't see them lasting. The size of their roster and overhead plus no real TV deal will be their undoing if/when Warner Discovery pulls the plug....

I would bet money that the network has slight input with who's on t.v.. Jericho is one of AEW biggest names. When AEW was in Milwaukee last year and Giannis Antetokounmpo went to the show and who do you think he was most excited to see? If Jericho segments give good ratings then they kinda have to continue doing what works.

Even if they pull the plug most networks would love to grab a property like AEW and their reliable ratings. Some major sports aren't pulling in any better ratings. AEW roster won't be what it is 3 or 4 years for now. Talent will come and go. 2 years for now Triple H & TK may be working on a joint PPV.

Some major sports don't bring in the stigma that wrestling brings in.....

BTW, which networks? It won't be any tied to NBC/Universal. And if Warner/Discovery pulls the plug, who's left? Paramount? AEW isn't going on to be picked up by CBS. MTV, CMT, BET, Comedy Central? I just don't see it. AEW might end up on Pluto TV....

There aren't too many networks that 1) have done prime time wrestling and 2) would jump into prime time wrestling with a second rate promotion that (could be) struggling to stay on television.

If it ain't WWE, not too many networks outside of TNT/TBS will touch wrestling.

And I don't see Triple H doing a cross promotion show with them, I mean why would he/WWE do it? What's in it for WWE?

If you provide wrestlers with compeling stories for everyone you won't have that problem. Sure everyone has a favorite I get that, but seeing that same person eat up almost 30min with promos and wrestling every week makes them stale and doesn't give time to "lesser" talent.
