They've been bringing back former wrestlers for the women's Royal Rumble for a few years now.
They've never had 30 women on their roster.

Duh, women that ain't doing shit. Lita and Trish and 'em. Not women actively wrestling in other promotions, let alone the champion of one. Not women that they fired nine months ago.

Sure, sometimes they sub-license old TNA footage, but they've never went out of their way to reference their current product like this.

And that 30 is bullshit, they have 21 active women now. You probably can't tell because they only push 4-5 per show.

21 not including NXT. That's not including Asuka and Bayley who are injured, Lacey Evans who's on maternity leave or Sonya Deville.

They fired 15 women just this year. Including women who were on the main roster like Ember Moon, Nia Jax, Lana, Ruby, The Iiconis, Mia Yim, Mercedes Martinez, B-Fab and Mickie James.

So yeah, it's weird that instead of giving a spot to one of their young up-and-comers or someone who doesn't get any TV time, they reach for someone they totally disregarded their whole career like this one-off appearance makes it right. And for a PR stunt, that's kinda weak to me.

Because it ain't like she gone win. At least with Trish and 'em, they can make it like it's a dream match or something if they win. They ain't gone have Mickie James featured in a Wrestlemania build when she's the Impact champion so why waste a spot?

Here are my thoughts on this past Friday's AEW "Rampage" and Saturday's "Battle Of The Belts"

RAMPAGE

Adam Cole/Jake Atlas:
I'm not that familiar with Atlas but he's a phenomenal athlete. Moves extremely well; very smooth. This ended up being a pretty good match however the finish was weak because Atlas hurt his knee. I don't necessarily know what the plan is for Cole right now. Is he just waiting his turn to get a TNT title run? Does Tony plan on introducing Trios championships? I can see Cole with Fish and O'Reilly having a long reign with those belts. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I gave this match *** stars.

Hook/Aaron Solo: This was only Hook's third professional wrestling match and he's already over like rover with the crowd. Aaron Solo is pretty much a Nightmare Factory coach so he was just another person to be fed to Hook. Hook's going to get the same kind of protection that Jade gets. This match was meh. ** stars.

Ruby Solo & Riho/Jamie Hayter & Britt Baker
: Kudos to the camera man for getting some good shots of Jamie's ass. Riho pretty much shined here as they were building her up for her match with Britt. I loved the way Jamie sold Riho's 619. I gave this **3/4 stars.

Daniel Garcia & 2.0/ Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz: I enjoyed this match quite a bit. Nice street fight match. The crowd was really into it. Wouldn't mind seeing this again. I gave this *** 3/4 stars.

BATTLE OF THE BELTS

Dustin Rhodes/Sammy Guevara (Interim TNT Championship match):
Pretty good match. Sammy is so damn fluid and smooth in the ring. Good offense from both men. Loved the Canadian destroyer table spot although I don't think it was really needed. I did like the finish because you normally don't see that kind of finish. Of course Sammy had to go over and it looks like they're setting up his next opponent to be Daniel Garcia. I gave this match ***3/4 stars.

Matt Sydal/Ricky Starks (FTW Championship match): This was okay. I thought Starks could've been more dominant in this match. They gave Sydal way too much offense. If Starks is your future star he's needs to excell in matches like this. The finish was strong but the match was lukewarm. I gave this ** 3/4 stars.

Riho/Britt Baker (Women's Championship match):
Good but predictable as hell. Did anybody really think that Riho was going to win this match? I still don't understand how Britt is allowed to have Rebel and Jamie interfere in her matches and the referee never does anything about it. It's beyond old at this point. They really teased and played up the dissension between Britt and Jamie. Jamie would do something to purposely distract Britt giving Riho the advantage. This led to a great series of near falls. You could see the frustration on Britt's face unable to put Riho away but then she finally did it with the lock jaw. I wonder who they feed to Britt next. Still too early for the Thunder Rosa feud. I gave this match ***3/4 stars.

Looks like Big Swole was right, but hey the owner is BROWN so that makes everything okay, right? :rolleyes2:
Man I was so disgusted when I seen that....that's where Jay Lethal is at? Because when Adam Cole, BD, Punk, etc. came through that Youtube shit wasn't even a option....and I get the draw Punk and BD is and LEthal isn't....but naw man...NXT champion would've been better than this shit.

Do people like Cody at all. I see he has a bunch of toys released or coming soon. I don't feel like he's got a big enough following and so many guys are better and more popular than he is...

The brotha had ONE whole match on Dynamite (which he lost) and hasn't been seen on TV since.
At some point Tony needs to realize he can't sign EVERYONE that's a free agent.
Or he needs to start releasing some of these indy-rific guys that don't draw. There's just not enough TV time for everyone.

He's probably scared people will revolt. Seems like the indy followers are all here

If he's scared of his workers revolting, then he shouldn't be a wrestling promoter. Just be the money man and let someone else handle that.
Being a wrestling promoter requires an alpha male presence, which TK does not appear to possess.

Yeah he's od'ing.....Lethal deserves better than that and AEW got some day 1's that are all falling to the way side i'm sure.

You're buggin! The crowd that they have Jay Lethal is as much a draw as they are.

This one's tricky. Because AEW figures aren't out there like that. Stores get up to two cases at one time so finding any is good. And it's not uncommon for someone to buy the full wave. Even if you don't really like a wrestler, as a collector you may regret not buying it when you found it. I know from experience. The only figures I see warming the pegs here and there are Riho and Franky Kazarian. But they eventually get bought too.

Gotcha, it popped in my head bc I saw him now included with an aew ring, so I'm like, I don't want you. :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

I think Jay Lethal like Dustin Rhodes, mainly trains the younger talent. I see clips of him doing that. He's being used similar to what they are doing with Emi Sakura. She gets a nice paycheck and is used on Dark to work with the greener talent.

Punk only got a lot of his popularity for how he left and all the shyt he said while he was gone. But yes I believe Jay Lethal could headline a PPV like either one of them.
You bugging man lol. Punk was on top of the world when he left..i'd probably still say Punk is still one of the biggest draws in wrestling.....same goes for BD.....Lethal ain't that man if he was his ass wouldn't be on no damn Youtube AEW show....and he deserves better than that. Don't get me wrong he should be one of top guys or at least mid level in AEW....he shouldn't be disappearing for weeks. Why even sign him to do that?

That's not true. Danielson vs. Suzuki was on Youtube and he wrestled a full match with Aaron Solo on Dark in one his first few matches. Adam Cole was on that episode, too.

Except Punk was popular when he was in the WWE. He wasn't Cena or The Rock but he was very over. The way he left just added to things slightly. Lethal is good enough to headline a PPV but he's not the draw that Punk or Danielson are. He deserves better than what he's getting in AEW. But we've established that Tony Khan is ass backwards hence The Best Friends being on TV every week while Lethal has been on once or them getting more TV time than Team Taz.

That felt a little different though. Danielson had his moment on TV and didn't disappear....we ain't see Jay Lethal since when? Just for him to pop up on Youtube? I don't know maybe he's shown up but it seems like I haven't seen him.

I don't see being on the Youtube shows as a demotion, tho.

It's different in AEW because wins and losses are actually counted, so they often have their main players featured on Dark and Elevation to boost their records so that when they're introduced into a story line on Dynamite/Rampage, they have the record to justify it. T

hey don't seem to be interested in having somebody come in brand new and go straight into a heavyweight title feud. They seem to pick feuds from the Top 5 of the rankings.

Jurassic Express was on Dark/Elevation all the time, they built this strong record up, they got over, they got reps in, and now they're the tag champions. They're doing the same now with Wardlow so they can break him off from MJF and he can start building his own character.

So I'm not trippin' if Lethal is on Dark/Elevation since he'll be building his record for when they use him, he's not on TV taking losses in non-title feuds, plus I'm wondering if he's doing some training, too. He had a great match on Dark last week with a brother name Troy Hollywood.

They're also airing an episode tonight with the other champions they filmed Saturday night:

Punk is a draw for what he says. Before the initial pipe bomb, he wasn't a draw he was running NXT and before WWE he was in the same boat as Jay Lethal. Thinking that Punk was this huge draw WITHOUT the initial pipe bomb is odd to me.

Even if that is true....you keep saying without the pipe bomb lol. I'm talking about his draw RIGHT NOW lol. Pipe Bomb included...he's a draw. Whether its because of the pipe bomb or whatever....same goes for Daniel Bryan.

I would need to go back and check what I said, but my point was Jay should be just as much a draw as Punk. He has a better move set, I think he is just as good on the mic. The draw that Punk has is the Pipe Bomb, without that Punk doesn't have the following or popularity.
