They've been bringing back former wrestlers for the women's Royal Rumble for a few years now.
They've never had 30 women on their roster.
Duh, women that ain't doing shit. Lita and Trish and 'em. Not women actively wrestling in other promotions, let alone the champion of one. Not women that they fired nine months ago.
Sure, sometimes they sub-license old TNA footage, but they've never went out of their way to reference their current product like this.
And that 30 is bullshit, they have 21 active women now. You probably can't tell because they only push 4-5 per show.
21 not including NXT. That's not including Asuka and Bayley who are injured, Lacey Evans who's on maternity leave or Sonya Deville.
They fired 15 women just this year. Including women who were on the main roster like Ember Moon, Nia Jax, Lana, Ruby, The Iiconis, Mia Yim, Mercedes Martinez, B-Fab and Mickie James.
So yeah, it's weird that instead of giving a spot to one of their young up-and-comers or someone who doesn't get any TV time, they reach for someone they totally disregarded their whole career like this one-off appearance makes it right. And for a PR stunt, that's kinda weak to me.
Because it ain't like she gone win. At least with Trish and 'em, they can make it like it's a dream match or something if they win. They ain't gone have Mickie James featured in a Wrestlemania build when she's the Impact champion so why waste a spot?
