Nah he's correct. ECW and WWF had a working relationship in 97 ish...RVD dubbed Mr. Monday Night along with Dabu was brought in by Jerry Lawler.

This was years before WWF bought ECW and WCW.
Right

that’s how he got his name MR Monday night

sabu went to wcw and then didn’t sign his contract extension that’s as worth a lot of money.

I remember paulie was talking about his Wcw was taking his talent from 95 to 2000

im about to rewatch all this stuff now that I have peacock

Brian Pillman and Rick Rude been with all 3 I believe along with Raven.

wasn’t Rick rude the first person on Nitro and Raw on the same day?

Undertaker wrestled the future Kane in Smoky Mountain Wrestling

At that point Jim Cornette was working in the WWF while also running Smoky Mountain so that crossover was business related. Same way The Heavenly Bodies came up and faced The Steiners in the WWF and had rematches in Smoky Mountain. Damn shame that Kane had to go through multiple horrible gimmicks with the WWF before they finally got it right. Nowadays they'd just release and he'd probably never be seen again in the WWE.

Is Mickie James going to win the women’s Royal Rumble?

The likelihood of that happening is pretty much zero.

I thought Kenny Omega being pushed over the Impact Champion was dumb, not because it made Kenny look strong, but because it made the then (Black) Impact Champion look weak.

A guest spot for James (and possibly others) in a Royal Rumble match doesn’t come close to pushing another promotions champion over your very own.
Wasn't wrong. Kenny Omega's reign as Impact Champion didn't help anybody in Impact. And for him to lose the title in AEW to an AEW wrestler made the decision even dumber. Used the Impact title to try to build interest in an AEW title match and instead left no doubt who was going to win that match

Am I the only one who enjoyed omega collecting the belts?

I thought it was great, just mistimed likely due to Hangman taking time off for his child's birth.

Otherwise, if Hangman would've had his moment first, then have Kenny lose the Impact title to Christian and the AAA title to Andrade like they wanted, it would've been ideal.

But I was content with how it went given the circumstances, plus impressed with how Kenny did all that while having vertigo. I had vertigo in 2020 and I couldn't do shit but lay down.

No

I’m talking bout in 1997 when Jerry lawyer was going over there and they was coming over there

that’s why I said Monday night wars and not invasion in 2001 with wcw.

show me examples of forbidden door back in the 90s

was loose cannon a forbidden door???
ECW was in financial trouble more than usual at the time so Vince was keeping ECW afloat basically bankrolling the company. I remember Heyman stating it but don't remember exactly the terms. Here's an old topic I found on the subject.

Vince had bailed ECW out during that time, so it really wasn't a forbidden door as they were in debt to him and really couldn't pay it back.

Cool, just glad I'm not the only one

Weren't you the one that shytted on the "Hidden Door" when Kenny Omega did it with the Impact champion?! So now that Mickie James will get squashed doesn't this hurt the Impact womens title and their champion?

You talk about a company man, can WWE do no wrong in your eyes?
Bruh, it's Impact (which hardly anyone watches) and a women's Royal Rumble. It ain't that serious. LOL
Plus, WWE has been acknowledging TNA/Impact and using video footage on their documentaries for a while now so they clearly have had some kind of working relationship with them.

They've been bringing back former wrestlers for the women's Royal Rumble for a few years now.
They've never had 30 women on their roster.

Duh, women that ain't doing shit. Lita and Trish and 'em. Not women actively wrestling in other promotions, let alone the champion of one. Not women that they fired nine months ago.

Sure, sometimes they sub-license old TNA footage, but they've never went out of their way to reference their current product like this.

And that 30 is bullshit, they have 21 active women now. You probably can't tell because they only push 4-5 per show.

21 not including NXT. That's not including Asuka and Bayley who are injured, Lacey Evans who's on maternity leave or Sonya Deville.

They fired 15 women just this year. Including women who were on the main roster like Ember Moon, Nia Jax, Lana, Ruby, The Iiconis, Mia Yim, Mercedes Martinez, B-Fab and Mickie James.

So yeah, it's weird that instead of giving a spot to one of their young up-and-comers or someone who doesn't get any TV time, they reach for someone they totally disregarded their whole career like this one-off appearance makes it right. And for a PR stunt, that's kinda weak to me.

Because it ain't like she gone win. At least with Trish and 'em, they can make it like it's a dream match or something if they win. They ain't gone have Mickie James featured in a Wrestlemania build when she's the Impact champion so why waste a spot?

Here are my thoughts on this past Friday's AEW "Rampage" and Saturday's "Battle Of The Belts"

RAMPAGE

Adam Cole/Jake Atlas:
I'm not that familiar with Atlas but he's a phenomenal athlete. Moves extremely well; very smooth. This ended up being a pretty good match however the finish was weak because Atlas hurt his knee. I don't necessarily know what the plan is for Cole right now. Is he just waiting his turn to get a TNT title run? Does Tony plan on introducing Trios championships? I can see Cole with Fish and O'Reilly having a long reign with those belts. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I gave this match *** stars.

Hook/Aaron Solo: This was only Hook's third professional wrestling match and he's already over like rover with the crowd. Aaron Solo is pretty much a Nightmare Factory coach so he was just another person to be fed to Hook. Hook's going to get the same kind of protection that Jade gets. This match was meh. ** stars.

Ruby Solo & Riho/Jamie Hayter & Britt Baker
: Kudos to the camera man for getting some good shots of Jamie's ass. Riho pretty much shined here as they were building her up for her match with Britt. I loved the way Jamie sold Riho's 619. I gave this **3/4 stars.

Daniel Garcia & 2.0/ Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz: I enjoyed this match quite a bit. Nice street fight match. The crowd was really into it. Wouldn't mind seeing this again. I gave this *** 3/4 stars.

BATTLE OF THE BELTS

Dustin Rhodes/Sammy Guevara (Interim TNT Championship match):
Pretty good match. Sammy is so damn fluid and smooth in the ring. Good offense from both men. Loved the Canadian destroyer table spot although I don't think it was really needed. I did like the finish because you normally don't see that kind of finish. Of course Sammy had to go over and it looks like they're setting up his next opponent to be Daniel Garcia. I gave this match ***3/4 stars.

Matt Sydal/Ricky Starks (FTW Championship match): This was okay. I thought Starks could've been more dominant in this match. They gave Sydal way too much offense. If Starks is your future star he's needs to excell in matches like this. The finish was strong but the match was lukewarm. I gave this ** 3/4 stars.

Riho/Britt Baker (Women's Championship match):
Good but predictable as hell. Did anybody really think that Riho was going to win this match? I still don't understand how Britt is allowed to have Rebel and Jamie interfere in her matches and the referee never does anything about it. It's beyond old at this point. They really teased and played up the dissension between Britt and Jamie. Jamie would do something to purposely distract Britt giving Riho the advantage. This led to a great series of near falls. You could see the frustration on Britt's face unable to put Riho away but then she finally did it with the lock jaw. I wonder who they feed to Britt next. Still too early for the Thunder Rosa feud. I gave this match ***3/4 stars.

Looks like Big Swole was right, but hey the owner is BROWN so that makes everything okay, right? :rolleyes2:
Man I was so disgusted when I seen that....that's where Jay Lethal is at? Because when Adam Cole, BD, Punk, etc. came through that Youtube shit wasn't even a option....and I get the draw Punk and BD is and LEthal isn't....but naw man...NXT champion would've been better than this shit.

Do people like Cody at all. I see he has a bunch of toys released or coming soon. I don't feel like he's got a big enough following and so many guys are better and more popular than he is...

The brotha had ONE whole match on Dynamite (which he lost) and hasn't been seen on TV since.
At some point Tony needs to realize he can't sign EVERYONE that's a free agent.
Or he needs to start releasing some of these indy-rific guys that don't draw. There's just not enough TV time for everyone.
