FX’s “The Strain” To End With Season 4
http://www.darkhorizons.com/fxs-the-strain-to-end-with-season-4

Currently in the midst of its third season, FX has confirmed that it has renewed its vampire drama “The Strain” for a fourth season which will also serve as the show’s last.

FX programming presidents Nick Grad and Eric Schrier said the ending was a creative decision made by the producers with showrunner Carlton Cuse saying the original intent was for this series adaptation of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s vampire novel trilogy to only go three seasons anyway.

“It is a true joy to work at FX where creative intentions always comes first. Our original plan was for the series to last three years. Once we began telling that story it expanded to be more. After finishing the writing on season three, Guillermo, Chuck and I looked at our remaining story and felt the best version could be told in one more season. We have a fantastic plan for an exciting and climatic season four. We are deeply grateful to FX for supporting our vision and for allowing us to end the show on our own timetable.”

Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Natalie Brown, Miguel Gomez, Max Charles, Ruta Gedmintas, Rupert Penry-Jones and Samantha Mathis star in the series with the fourth season to air next Summer.

The show's premise had alot of potential and was supposed to be fx's response to Walking Dead (which they passed on).

Not sure where it went wrong.
The leads are phenomnal. Perhaps they ODed with the cheesiness. Perhaps they fell into the pitfalls of tv (insufferable kids, shitty decision, plotholes for the sake of story advancement)

Or maybe there wasnt a sustainable show there.

For all my complaints the walking dead is still going strong and has had some memorable moments which this show hasnt had.

They fucked up by killing all the cool interesting characters in he first season, I was expecting some cool shit from those special ops vampire guys and the black dude but they all died suddenly with no significance.

Dutch's little story had me like :hypnotised:

Did Eichorst just blow up the power plant? if so :itsawrap: for NYC

Man fucking Dutch is the worst... I get Eph. Eph's a drunk and has a history of never keeping his dick in his pants.... but fucking Dutch man.. yeah let me seduce the man whose son is kidnapped by monsters.

I liked the show it was different from any other sci-fi show. I think a show something like this on HBO would be dope.

For 45 minutes.... I was like man.. this might be it for me and the strain, but then those last 10 minutes pulled me back in... holy shit. :eek2:

They do that well...

Hell even the first scene when the dude on the hook wack the button out if the guy's hand...

Gus' story...

They thought Angel was his father...

Using the recording as a weapon...

This show is just too f*cking inconsistent

Cause next whole episode could suck.

Did they really cut from commercial to the scene with the scientist and the hacker chic then cut to commercial right after? They are really milking this shit. The other ancients ain't shit
