Haven't had a chance to check the show out, but have had a series recording set since day 1 and will check it out eventually. Good online buzz/reviews for the show.

Still can't undestand why you are comparing this show to that one? Shouldn't you be comparing it to twilight or something?
Plus it's all opinion, the walking dead I watch live, if the strain didn't record automatically on my DVR I would forget it came on.

I don't watch any of them live. I can't stand commercials and almost anything I watch I have to download it about an hour after the show. Justified, scandal, The Walking Dead, Archer. All of those I watch downloaded

and as much as i like twd, this show shits all over it. its like the creators of this show saw the weaknesses of twd and cleaned up most of them.
twilight is a movie. twd and the strain are tv shows. the comparison is better btwn tv shows. it is no way fair to compare a tv show to a movie. one is two hours. the other can be up to 22 hours for multiple seasons.
If yall want to get technical, TWD shits on this show for two Reasons.
1. The walking dead actually give you the sense of hopeless and loneliness in a post apocalypses. On the strain up until last night, you had no idea how bad it actually was. Its thousands of mother fuckers in the sewer yet everyone still goes on with their every day lives. Has it swept the nation yet, or is it still in a 3block radius? We dont know? The strain has failed on that point.
2. The unrealistic characters. TWD has the most realistic reactions to current situations. The strain they just say "Whats the stupidest thing a person can do? Well make them do that."
You cant compare the two because TWD is about people being dead inside toward each other, and not the actual zombies.
The strain is about one man thinking its a virus and another telling him their vampires and took ten episodes for him to believe their vampires, and the plight of four people 2 unlikeable, against thousands of vampires with seemingly no help from the outside world.
When you make characters unlikeable, its hard to care for their plight or if they die or not. Not only are the characters on TS unlikable you have no sense of danger like they are going to die. Besides Carl, Rick, And Michone no one on TWD feels safe.

Its difficult to criticize this show because it is so damn good.
Its like they STUDIED The Walking Dead and tried to correct all the weaknesses
The ONLY thing that you could say the show is WEAK on is the female characters...
But that chick in black just Running out the gas station may have actually fixed that.
The pacing is INCREDIBLE...
Plot, character development Special effects production value sound effects music stunts action scenes.
The symbolized and social commentary is amazing..

And every death is EARNED even though I didn't like the way the Haitian women were depicted? The episode itself and the surprise ending was
I don't even want to try to predict whats going to happen its just sit back and enjoy the ride.
