wow... talk about quotes being taken out of context...
just goes to show that most women have no clue what manhood is about.
Obama hasn't turned his back on Black folks just because he's not pandering to the least common denominator. the man isn't running to be president of Black folks, and has made no specific address to ANY individual ethnic group.
in this he shows wisdom. his address on race should've deaded any feelings of Black abandonment anyone has.

In my opinion, Obama has not carried himself like a man in a lot of his campaigning. He has had to turn his back on Blacks in order to succeed in his campaigning... I mean lets keep it real... in order for Obama to seriously go after the presidency he had to sell his soul to the white man and become a puppet to their ideals.
Look at his demeanor now as he debates it doesnt match with what he is spewing out. I'm not knocking him... but I don't agree with a lot of things he has done.... however as a black woman I will support him.

Whenever a political figure is wreckless enough to announce that he thinks Putin is KGB on GLOBALLY BROADCAST television coverage…we cannot afford as a nation to give him the power to act on is feelings. McCain is a dangerous old man and cannot be given power to act.
If he were elected we would be in a world war by the middle of his first term…he is already laying the groundwork. What is even more scary is the fact that he is too riddled with cancer to live through the war he begins and our nation would be stuck with Palin who cannot even answer a question in an interview with Couric. Wake up America…run from this while we still have the chance. NO MORE BUSH and that means NO MCCAIN/Palin

Agreed, and lord knows a lot of these sistas aint no Michelles...
Please don't say most women, or even some. Kitty is definitely representing her own personal views in this thread. No woman has co-signed her, and I highly doubt any woman reading this thread even agrees with her. Her comments don't represent what the majority of the black women I know feel about Obama and his behavior in this campaign...just wanted to clear that up. Don't lump us all together.

loll, well in my defense we were in the middle of the debate and I wanted him to stay focused![]()
There are 3 types. The third are people like me who understand completely that Obama is a politician. He plays politics. However his stance on the issues and plans compared to McCain make far better sense for this country. Do I think he'll follow up on every campaign promise? Hell no. No politician ever does. Are these things he does or will do that I won't agree with, hell yeah. Barack getting elected also will mean that this country has finally awaken from it's apathetic slumber and started to pay attention to the political issues.
As for Obama "running" from his blackness as some people say...let's be honest, most of us do. When we are at work are we the same militants we are in the barbershop or beauty shop. Hell no.

Actually there are even more males who have no clue what manhood is about...
And to nip one thing in the bud... I am not someone who is expecting handouts from Obama on the strength that he is black... however when I pictured having a black president... I pictured someone who didnt deny his race. Its one thing to ignore... but he seems to have no problem making speeches that condemn black men, telling them how they should be carrying themselves... blah blah blah I need to go find the transcript of that speech he made on fathers day. It totally rubbed me the wrong way, in the light that it was presented. If you can present your views on what blacks are doing wrong... present them on whites as well.
In any event at the end of the day I am voting for him... but I don't have to pretend to agree with him.
I tend to agree with your first point, but there was strategy in this too. It was very reminiscent of Bill Cosby (and others), but I think he handled it rather well in comparison.
On your second point, he absolutely cannot afford to to that! That would be the kiss of death for his campaign. Hicks in east bumblefuck would flock in droves to keep Obama out of office. Keep in mind who is still running shit...for now.

Damn... that shit was pretty reckless.
Especially with his grill already looming over the hemisphere...
Fuckin w/ Putin is like fuckin w/ ZOD.

You worked on K Street? That must have been before the cops cracked down on panhandling along that corridor. With that being said, I would think that you understand human mistakes, thereby making the fact that your response to my initial statement an issue of you either being nitpicky or just being something else worse (I won't say)
Now, as I would never consider myself a sage or the like, however, I had the chance to work in DC on K-Street with a lobbying group, hence my mention of my background. I have had the chance to work with Senator's and see how that process works as far as debates and the like are concerned......
Enjoy the debate......![]()

*sighs* I'm not saying he gotta be on some black panther type shit... but can I see him say one positive thing in regards to black people?!
If yall can produce one time when he was mentioning blacks in a positive light then I will dead this argument an go back to dipping my head back in the sand.
If I were to write a list of all the people I know across the US, and from that list select the women who represent michelle type quality an the men who represent obama type quality
the michelles would outnumber the obamas.
Democratic insiders point to the Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act, introduced this year by Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana and co-sponsored by Obama, as the policy vision behind the fatherhood plank of the Democratic platform. The bill has yet to make it out of the finance committee, but if it's enacted, it would represent a major step forward...
One of the major adjustments of Obama and Bayh's Responsible Fatherhood Act is that it prohibits state and federal government from taking money from child-support payments -- what is essentially a "tax" on a parents' earnings -- and ensures that all of it goes to the family. It also expands the Earned Income Tax Credit to provide an additional credit for non-custodial parents who keep up on their payments, thus encouraging fathers to keep legitimate jobs and avoid the underground economy...
In addition, the Obama-Bayh bill addresses the issue of incarceration. The legislation prevents the government from treating time spent in prison as "voluntary unemployment," a practice that can leave a parent re-entering society with a mountain of child-support debt based on his or her income prior to incarceration. The bill sets aside federal grants for transitional jobs and prisoner re-entry programs. The Justice Center, a think tank focused on criminal justice, estimates that more than 7 million children may have a parent in prison or jail, or under parole or probation supervision. The bill also requires each state to review and make adjustments for debt of men who were incarcerated or otherwise unemployed when the debt was accumulated.

you are not an expert on men and do not know what men think about manhood.
there is no proof Obama has ever denied his race. the idea that you think this proves that you're delusional.
nobody cares what you agree about.
you're taking yourself too seriously...and you know what, i'm taking you too seriously as well.

) just let her self destruct in her own foolishness and lack of understanding. All he has to do is ask Gov. Palin to repeat the question because it was perhaps 'not clear enough' and she's having to go and try to explain her rehearsed scripted lines...
Hillary would also rip her apart if given the chance. This is going to be entertaining, I'll need a drink.wont hurt for her to work on her dancing a bit

All in all... its the best presidential debate I've ever watched. Both of these guys were better than last three shitbags (Bush Gore Kerry.) Fuck McCain, but damn its good to see an opponent not as dumb as Bush.
I highly doubt that since the non-Obamas are being raised by non-Michelles, so your argument flies in the face of logic.
As does your anger towards Black men, obviously.
Furthermore, the fact that you dont know a lot of Obamas reflects poorly on YOU and YOUR judgment and associations, not on black men.
By the way, since the Father's Day speech rubbed you so wrong, how about you read up on this and show some commitment to making an informed vote?

Dont talk about it, BE about it. Cause right now you are playing yourself.
