***THE OFFFICIAL BGOL 2015 NBA PLAYOFFS THREAD*** Who you Got?

"Yall wanna see a dead body?"

JR is a roll player and he is not a guy who can carry a team.

Man Della aint stepping back and hitting nothing against Curry or Shuan Livingston

Shump is also not a scorer that can carry a team.

No knock on Lebron but that would be a tough series to try and beat Golden State 4 times with a line up of

Della
Shump
Lebron
Thompson
T Mov

with a bench of only JR and James Jones

Remember they would have to win 4 times with that line up

Remember we're talking about sports, where logical thinking works and don't work!!!

Looking back over the course of the Cav's season at some of those logical thoughts that were expressed....

Lebron returns to the Cavs, they will be better but might take a year or two before they're ready to make a title run...they would be lucky to get to the 2nd rd

Irving and Kevin will miss time during the season, they never been healthy...

The coach won't make it thru the season...

The roster is weak, no bench...

Make a few trades, Tim, JR(Who the fuck trade for this clown, Lebron losing his fucking mind, didn't want Wiggins, wanted Love and now bringing in the stupid clown)and Iman welcome...
Folks had fun clowning... saying they wouldn't take JR, if he was given to them.
Phil made them take JR, as part of getting Iman but he stay hurt also...the Cavs traded nothing for nothing...

Lebron's body is breaking down, like most thought after carrying this young team...
Along with playing deep into the post season, getting married, playing in the Olympics...etc
His body breaking down because he's cycling off the shit, it's strange his body breaking down the season before they start testing...

JR gonna be JR at some point, you can't rely on this clown...all he does is shot, gonna be a locker room cancer....

Team starts rolling after Lebron returns from treatment in Miami...

The East is weak, they still won't beat the Bulls(just to tough, Pau, Butler and Rose will be to much), Hawks(no star everybody play team ball), Wizards(deep team, with vets)...

They won't matchup against the west, to matchup size and toughness...(but folks were blind to the Cavs road record against teams out west)

Logical thoughts...lead many of us to believe the Cavs would have trouble if they got past the first round of the playoff...(some had them as the 5th team in the East)
.

Playoffs
Boston too young, team on the rise, bright future!!!
Logically thinking had us assuming they was done after dude tried to break Kevin Love's , that took him out the playoffs...the Bulls gonna destroy them...

Up next the Bulls...(one of our lil brothas had his chest poking out)
So they have to face the Bulls team(many thought was the east front runner, the Bulls team that was labeled 2 tough for the soft ass Cavs team, (they facing the Bulls without Kevin love)... Probably lucky to win 2 games!!!
Bulls inside game would be too much for them...

Get pass the Bulls easily...

ATL waiting on that ass...this the end of the road for them...
Team ball, team ball team ball...ATL gonna shoot them out the gym...

(To me the major problem is, Cavs got wing defenders with size...so trying to set up Kyle might not be the best option...)

So I typed that just to say...what your saying is true...but shit don't always work like that....if there's anybody who's an expert on logically thinking failing it's definitely you(from what I'm told)!!!

Man I didn't believe JR would fit. James has these dudes in tune. That goes a long way in trying to achieve as a unit. Interesting watch.

Love and Kyrie are injury prone players

I'm sure Lebron had that in his mind

Just hoping for the best obviously

He is out there will castoffs and bums for real now

Making it do what it do

If he wins a title like this?

Got to show respect period

This is also why, they was after Josh Smith!!!

Having him coming in off the bench as a defensive stretch 4...was the look the was trying to get...

And he elected to remain a starter on another good team instead. He made the right decision. But that would've added some serious diversity and depth. Cavs trying to get it now. At least sooner than I expected.

Looks like JR Smith is taking shit seriously. (ie he ain't ballin' like he still halfway drunk / or hungover this time around :smh:)

When he was on the Knicks... he couldn't stay his ass outta them nightclubs popping bottles at 3am when he got a BIG game the next day.... especially during the few playoff runs they had. :smh:

Ain't no 'nightlife' to abuse in Cleveland. :smh:

That's prolly the big difference.

Man to be honest this team can complete for a few years...

The youth and vet experience is there...
There's probably at least four open spots...(Marion, Perkins, Miller and Haywood)!!!

So that leaves you

Irving, Delly
Smith, Joe
James, Shum
Love, Jones
Timo, Thompson(if he resign)...

That's a returning ECF squad with room to add quality players , after the youthful players and coach gained valuable playoff experience/minutes!!!

Also there's Lebron....who signed off on the trade, saying he'll take care of JR

In the east it can, but thats about it; I believe Love is leaving and Kyrie stays hurt; It will be LBJ and role players...Thats good enough to come out of the east, but not good enough to win it all...

Agreed. that's also a MAJOR difference.

1 - Lebron James take him 'under the wing'
2 - He stays outta nightclubs & stays sober.

That's all it takes.

He might fuck around & get a ring if he continue to 'act right'.

Hawks ain't shit

Really not shit at all

horrible dude. they didn't even try.

just blow this bitch ass team up everybody on the trading block

Hawks should be ashamed of themselves; fucking ridiculous; Had alot of homeboys at the game tonight and Im glad I didnt go to that shit; No way they should be getting blown about the Cavs; Losing is one thing, but getting blown out with 2 of their 3 best players hurt, is shameful!!

Well I'll say this if he would leave...this year would be the perfect time for the Cavs, they could make a run at LA...for that 4spot...

Man don't pass up opportunities like that, you never know what gonna happen...

Correct...

Man there's many players that have traits folks don't like... wreck ness , uncoachable passion, craziness, careless etc....

The true of the matter, once folks get to know that person, coaches find ways to channel that energy into being a positive towards the common goal of victory it's a wrap...

Nah, they wont have the Cap space like the knicks, lakers, spurs, and some other teams that can offer aldridge more money; I think he stays in Portland or goes to spurs; I think Love goes to Boston where they will worship his white ass...

The Hawks :smh:

I really wish Wall didn't get injured

They can't beat Cleveland without two of their top three players :hmm:

Fucking Boston was more competitive.

Conference Finalists Are Dotted With Knicks’ Castoffs

A sharpshooting 3-point specialist, a defensive stopper, a 7-foot starter, a veteran steal artist, a feisty starting forward and a solid backup. It sounds like the elements of a pretty good Knicks playoff team.

In a way, it is. Six former Knicks are still alive in the N.B.A. playoffs, with four teams remaining, and several players have crucial roles.

The Cavaliers are the most fully stocked, with three former Knicks, including J. R. Smith, who on Wednesday poured in 28 points and a team playoff-record eight 3-pointers to lead Cleveland to a 97-89 win over the Atlanta Hawks in their Eastern Conference finals opener.

Signed by the Knicks at the conclusion of the lockout in 2012, Smith won the 2013 Sixth Man of the Year Award and hit numerous game-winning baskets. But he also had a brief drug suspension and was fined for untying opponents’ shoelaces.

Iman Shumpert was drafted by the Knicks No. 17 over all out of Georgia Tech. Though he missed some time with a torn knee ligament and other injuries, he was a defensive mainstay who contributed some backcourt points.

With the Knicks at 5-31 and looking to remake the roster, Smith and Shumpert were traded to the Cavaliers in January for a draft pick and some players with expiring contracts. At the time, Cleveland was 19-16, and more than a few people had begun talking about the decline of LeBron James. After the trade, Cleveland went 34-13. The Cavaliers earned the second seed in the East and are three victories away from the N.B.A. finals.

Smith certainly seems content in his new surroundings. After eliminating the Bulls in the last round, he took to Twitter to post contrasting pictures of himself and Shumpert on the bench as Knicks and smiling as Cavaliers, with the line, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Smith added, “Couldn’t have said it better myself.”

And do not forget center Timofey Mozgov’s Knicks stint. Signed from Russia, he played 34 games in New York, mostly off the bench, and averaged 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds before being sent to Denver in the Carmelo Anthony deal. Traded again in the middle of this season, he became a Cavaliers starter, averaging 10.6 and 6.9 in 46 games with Cleveland.

Another former Knick making waves in this postseason is Pablo Prigioni, of the Houston Rockets. After a long European career, Prigioni became a 35-year-old rookie with the Knicks, providing harrying defense and some long-range shooting. In February he was traded to the Rockets for Alexey Shved.

At 38, Prigioni, is still a contributor off the bench, picking up several key steals that helped turn Game 7 against the Clippers and earn the praise of his coach.

Forward Trevor Ariza is the Rockets’ second leading scorer, after James Harden. Picked up by the Knicks in the second round out of U.C.L.A., he played a season and a half for them as a role player and dunk specialist, but was not a favorite of Coach Larry Brown, who once called him “delusional.” Ariza was shipped to the Magic with Penny Hardaway for Steve Francis.

After several more stops, Ariza turned into a high-quality player. The last two seasons have been his best. His hard-nose play has led to on-court scuffles with Golden State’s Stephen Curry in the regular season, and most recently the Warriors’ Draymond Green in Game 1 of the West finals. The Warriors’ ex-Knick is David Lee, a Knicks late-first-round pickup. After five seasons he left for Golden State as a free agent. At 31 he moved to the bench this season after four years as a Warriors starter, but he is still contributing.

As Knicks fans look to a most uncertain future built around Carmelo Anthony and a No. 4 draft pick, they may be wondering what might have been.

LeBron James: I’m J.R. Smith’s life coach

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — J.R. Smith barely has as an inch of skin not covered by tattoos, offering a colorful timeline of the enigmatic Cleveland shooting guard’s life.

Some of the markings are personal: portraits on his chest of his mom and Jesus, an NBA logo on his ring finger and an interlocking NY on his neck. The tattoos help define him, but he’s also been tagged with some labels he didn’t seek.

Almost from the moment he broke in with New Orleans in 2004, Smith has been branded as selfish, difficult and moody. Not the guy you want on your team. Several off-the-court issues, including suspensions, arrests and a tragic auto accident in 2007 that killed his friend, only heightened Smith’s profile as a troublemaker.

The Cavs, though, have experienced a very different Smith. Since arriving in a trade from New York in January along with Iman Shumpert, Smith has been everything Cleveland could have hoped — one of the league’s best 3-point shooters and a consummate pro.

“He’s sacrificed for the good of the team. He’s as well-liked as any player on the team,” coach David Blatt said as the Cavs prepared for the Eastern Conference finals against Atlanta. “He has been a godsend for us.”

Smith’s in a good place, one which has given him a rebirth of sorts. He knows the outside perception of him isn’t good, but he’s only worried about what he means to those in his inner circle — family, friends and teammates.

He says he didn’t change when he got to Ohio, even though his reputation beat him to Cleveland. He easily adapted to an area much more like his suburban New Jersey roots than Manhattan.

“I’m generally a good person, that’s what the people who know me tell me anyway,” said Smith, who replaced his obsession with illustrating his body a few years ago with a golf addiction. “I’m just being me in a better situation. Unfortunately, this picture of me got painted early in my career, so it’s pretty much taken me nine to 10 years to get over it.”

The NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year with New York in 2012-13, Smith was cast aside this season by the nose-diving Knicks, who packaged him and Shumpert in a three-way deal for future assets. Smith felt discarded. After the Cavs advanced past Chicago in the second round, Smith posted on Instagram a photo of him and Shumpert sitting on New York’s bench stacked above pictures of them side by side in Cavs uniforms. The display was captioned meme-style: “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

Smith said he and Shumpert frequently talk about their Knicks days.

“It was extremely tough,” he said. “To leave after having as much success as we had, it’s a mixed feeling. We’re excited and happy to be part of this here, but we also left our team and the guys we played with for so long that are stuck in that situation.”

Other than the restaurants, he doesn’t miss New York.

“This feels more like home,” he said.

Smith’s lone misstep so far in Cleveland came during a rough series finale in Boston. Caught in a shoving match under the basket, he threw a backhanded fist that connected with Jae Crowder’s face. Smith drew a two-game suspension, and sat out Games 1 and 2 against the Bulls.

And while the penalty prompted some same-old-J.R. comments, he and the Cavs quickly moved past it. Smith came off the bench and hit several big shots as Cleveland eliminated Chicago, and the Cavs are counting on him to offset Atlanta’s firepower.

On the floor, Smith gives James another arrow for his quiver, an outside shooter who can spot up from anywhere. Off the court, they also have a strong connection.

Smith and James have known each other since high school, and the 30-year-old’s friendship has grown in the few months they’ve been teammates. Several times during this postseason run, the two have gone to morning shootarounds together, ahead of the rest of the Cavaliers. James has helped Smith find a rhythm.

“I understand he’s misunderstood, how everybody perceives him, so I’m able to relate to him,” James said. “I’m able to be a big brother to him and give him the tips on trying to be the best teammate he can be, the best father he can be, the best friend he can be.”

Smith has embraced playing with James and this chance, maybe his best one to win an NBA title.

“To be in this situation with these guys, going this far and to be playing this well,” he said, “it’s a dream come true.”

Fans should get together and take out a class action suit against the Hawks, for fraud...:smh:

Not even competitive...against a team without 2 of it's top players,at home?

Worse one seed in history...:smh::lol:

Inkosi has passed Charles Oakley, Pat Ewing and Dirk Nowitzki for 20th on the all time playoff rebounds list. He will pass Ben Wallace, Ho Grant, and Magic for 17th place this playoff. Inkosi is 4th all time in playoff assists, only behind Magic, Stockton, and J Kidd. Inkosi sits at #7 all time in playoff points, but will pass Karl Malone next game for the #6 spot. LeBron is the most versatile player in NBA playoff history at age 30.

As much as this Inkosi shit has been annoying over the years, frankly, I'm good on it at this point. That Heats shit, joining up with Wade and crew rubbed a lot of people wrong, but with what he's done with this team?!?! Just getting to the ECF was an achievement but even if they get to the finals and get dealt with, that won't lessen this accomplishment. Dude would have fucked up the 2 favorites in the east with what amount to an NBDL squad in comparison. Shit, my Sixers might be here if he was on that team...

He has to be in the GOAT/TOP 3-4 discussion at this point...

LeBron is the most versatile player in NBA playoff history at age 30.

I had to think a minute,and thought maybe Oscar....but,LeBron on D covers,whoever.

If he wins a title this year, with this collection...minus Love and a healthy Kyrie, gotta put him on Mt.Hoopmore.

And I believe he will beat G.S....even without a healthy Kyrie, there is simply no answer for him.
