Looking back over the course of the Cav's season at some of those logical thoughts that were expressed....
Lebron returns to the Cavs, they will be better but might take a year or two before they're ready to make a title run...they would be lucky to get to the 2nd rd
Irving and Kevin will miss time during the season, they never been healthy...
The coach won't make it thru the season...
The roster is weak, no bench...

The East is weak, they still won't beat the Bulls(just to tough, Pau, Butler and Rose will be to much), Hawks(no star everybody play team ball), Wizards(deep team, with vets)...
They won't matchup against the west, to matchup size and toughness...(but folks were blind to the Cavs road record against teams out west)

Having him coming in off the bench as a defensive stretch 4...was the look the was trying to get...
And he elected to remain a starter on another good team instead. He made the right decision. But that would've added some serious diversity and depth. Cavs trying to get it now. At least sooner than I expected.

Iman Shumpert was drafted by the Knicks No. 17 over all out of Georgia Tech. Though he missed some time with a torn knee ligament and other injuries, he was a defensive mainstay who contributed some backcourt points.

At 38, Prigioni, is still a contributor off the bench, picking up several key steals that helped turn Game 7 against the Clippers and earn the praise of his coach.
Forward Trevor Ariza is the Rockets’ second leading scorer, after James Harden. Picked up by the Knicks in the second round out of U.C.L.A., he played a season and a half for them as a role player and dunk specialist, but was not a favorite of Coach Larry Brown, who once called him “delusional.” Ariza was shipped to the Magic with Penny Hardaway for Steve Francis.
After several more stops, Ariza turned into a high-quality player. The last two seasons have been his best. His hard-nose play has led to on-court scuffles with Golden State’s Stephen Curry in the regular season, and most recently the Warriors’ Draymond Green in Game 1 of the West finals. Some of the markings are personal: portraits on his chest of his mom and Jesus, an NBA logo on his ring finger and an interlocking NY on his neck. The tattoos help define him, but he’s also been tagged with some labels he didn’t seek.
Almost from the moment he broke in with New Orleans in 2004, Smith has been branded as selfish, difficult and moody. Not the guy you want on your team. Several off-the-court issues, including suspensions, arrests and a tragic auto accident in 2007 that killed his friend, only heightened Smith’s profile as a troublemaker.
The Cavs, though, have experienced a very different Smith. Since arriving in a trade from New York in January along with Iman Shumpert, Smith has been everything Cleveland could have hoped — one of the league’s best 3-point shooters and a consummate pro.
“He’s sacrificed for the good of the team. He’s as well-liked as any player on the team,” coach David Blatt said as the Cavs prepared for the Eastern Conference finals against Atlanta. “He has been a godsend for us.”
Smith’s in a good place, one which has given him a rebirth of sorts. He knows the outside perception of him isn’t good, but he’s only worried about what he means to those in his inner circle — family, friends and teammates.
He says he didn’t change when he got to Ohio, even though his reputation beat him to Cleveland. He easily adapted to an area much more like his suburban New Jersey roots than Manhattan.
“I’m generally a good person, that’s what the people who know me tell me anyway,” said Smith, who replaced his obsession with illustrating his body a few years ago with a golf addiction. “I’m just being me in a better situation. Unfortunately, this picture of me got painted early in my career, so it’s pretty much taken me nine to 10 years to get over it.”
The NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year with New York in 2012-13, Smith was cast aside this season by the nose-diving Knicks, who packaged him and Shumpert in a three-way deal for future assets. Smith felt discarded. Inkosi has passed Charles Oakley, Pat Ewing and Dirk Nowitzki for 20th on the all time playoff rebounds list. He will pass Ben Wallace, Ho Grant, and Magic for 17th place this playoff. Inkosi is 4th all time in playoff assists, only behind Magic, Stockton, and J Kidd. Inkosi sits at #7 all time in playoff points, but will pass Karl Malone next game for the #6 spot. LeBron is the most versatile player in NBA playoff history at age 30.
As much as this Inkosi shit has been annoying over the years, frankly, I'm good on it at this point. That Heats shit, joining up with Wade and crew rubbed a lot of people wrong, but with what he's done with this team?!?! Just getting to the ECF was an achievement but even if they get to the finals and get dealt with, that won't lessen this accomplishment.
