This is not a common sense gun control idea anyway.
This is some reactionary bullshit that won't change anything and won't stop mass killings.
It is about as stupid as being able to sue the manufacturer for a legal product that a consumer uses for an illegal purpose.
So is this shit passed how does it stop a state that has loose laws from legally selling the same weapon and that person transporting it to a state with stricter laws ?
Nobody seems to understand that 90% of guns used to commit a crime started out as a legally purchased weapon.
Anything short of universal minimum standards to purchase and possess a firearm is useless.
There should be minimum regulations that all states must abide by. That doesn't mean some states can't require more but minimum standards.
Then treat concealed carry like a drivers license is treated. Although it is state regulated because there are minimum standards they would be recognized nationwide just like a drivers license and that information is shared by all states nationwide.
You simply cannot have this current hodgepodge of rules and restrictions that vary from state to state and think any difference will be made by these make the public feel good gestures like this bill.

Its really no argument. The information is there you choose to look at it and accept the reality that for more lives are lost to many other causes each year in this country than guns. Maybe these idiots who call themselves democrats or republicans will set about fixing those issues and banning some of the things that really should be banned.
But a gun should not be their first priority!
The mention about umbrellas and staplers was to emphasize that if guns are banned, criminal will just pick up something else as a weapon.

The point is with less guns in circulation there will be less deaths. European countries aren't better people than us. They just don't have the amount of weapons in circulation that we do.

I can't see what connection it has with thee CDC report I posted. Its not a pro or anti gun report. I just breaks out the total number of deaths in the US occur each year.
Gun violence is #107 out of the 113 possible categorized causes of death.

Do some research on "FAST AND FURIOUS" gun running operation involving the ATF, DEA, JSUTICE DEPARTMENT, CIA, STATE DEPARTMENT AND CUSTOMS.
