i dont own a ps3, so :dunno:

someone did say that if you own a ps3, no need to get this.

Advice please... I thought WD hard disk were generally seen as unreliable? :hmm:
I never had a problem with any WD hard drive:confused:

Side note, I skimmed through the various threads and I wasn't sure if this was ever brought up, but the WDTV can also play subtitle (srt) files for all the heads who like foreign films.

yes it shows subtitles too:yes:

just make sure they have the same name as the movie, the name on the subs have to match with the movie

what does this mean?

Pros: This thing works with a externally powered USB hub. I plugged a 4-port BELKIN F5U304-WHT USB 2.0 Plus Hub into one of the 2 USB ports on the WD TV. The BELKIN F5U304-WHT USB 2.0 Plus Hub is powered separately by an AC adapter that's plugged into an outlet. I then plugged a Kingston 16GB USB flash drive, a 2.5" 160GB Western Digital Essential portable HDD, & a 2.5" 500GB LaCie portable HDD into the Belkin USB hub. After it stopped scanning, I used the folder view in Videos. It only presented USB1 as an option, which I selected. From this, I was presented with being able to select from the WD Passort HDD, the LaCie HDD, & the Kingston flash drive.

Externally-powered USB hubs with 7 ports exist. This means that you can plug 1 7-port externally-powered usb hub into each of the 2 available USB ports on the WD TV for a total of 14 separate USB-powered storage devices such as 2.5" HDDs & flash drives!

I'll see if I can chain together USB hubs, to allow for more than 14 devices!

Eh BenQ, the first review on that site had me in friggin stitches man

hahahahah
:eek::confused:

what this?

Cons: None, unless you are stupid, ignorant, an idiot or all of the above. There's too many dumba$$es here who rush to judgement, like the basket case who complained that it does not support the NTFS file system. It DOES support NTFS.

Complaining that it takes too long for it to scan your 1TB external HDD for files? Give me a break!

1 Terabyte = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes!

My con is reading about the stupid complaints about the WD TV.

"No Network Support?"

"I Don't Like The Small Remote!"

"No Component Video?"

Western Digital wanted to keep the price of the WD TV affordable at around 100 bucks.

Guess What?!?!

Mission Accomplished as far as I'm concerned!

it means that he added a device with multiple usb ports. he plugged in all his devices to it, then plugged it into the wd player. he was able to see multiple drives. this is a good idea.

Thanks to a helpful forum member, I've been told how to make this thing play video files in sequence from a USB drive. Instead of hitting "enter" to play a video, press "play" instead. Once the file is finished, it will then move to the next one in sequence instead of reverting to the folder view!

also while your fast forwarding if you press next button the video will jump 12 minutes i think, same thing if you press rewind
