Lmao!!!
With all due respect! Some of the opinions sometimes is SHIT on the board. Cats raved about the Chromecast, Amazon TV Stick and Bee X2 and i went out and bought them on the strength of the positive word of mouth here..
They were ALL ASS IMO.
So I'm not too keen on spending $200 this time on another strong recommend....
Just say'in!
Garbage, not only do you have to buy the games at retail price to play on there you also have to pay them a monthly fee
Not sure about those other boxes, but this has played every Emulator I've thrown at it. The Dreamcast and PSP Emulators work damn near flamelessly. What's it like playing retro games on this box?
Better than Chinese Android boxes on Amazon that people are praising in the other thread?
What are the cons/ downsides of this box? What fucks up consistently?
I only need kodi not that other stuff.. Why would I switch?
Is it worth it? Just for kodi..

there are much cheaper options for kodiOf course. The best kodi machine available. Also it's $25 off with the remote included.

If one ONLY wanted to run KODI, I wouldn't recommend an Nvidia Shield TV.there are much cheaper options for kodi

If one wanted to run KODI, play video games, stream PC games, and have the option of side loading apps and utilize Android TV, you damn right I'd recommend this.
The ability to stream 4K is a plus. Don't have a 4K TV yet, but as stated above it's future proof.
I would only get this for KODI, don't know if I should yet
Curious, don't know anything about the Nexus player, but what does that do that the Shield doesn't?I still recommend the Nexus Player over this if you're just using Kodi
Graphics wise, they are pretty close. The Shield TV isn't really a fair comparison to a PS4 though.are the graphics better then my ps4?
Nexus player still not reaching the performance levels the Shield is though. On top of that, no 4K (future proof) and you have to add all that shit to your Nexus Player in order to have Ethernet connectivity, instead of spending the extra money.Pretty good comparison.. If Ethernet is important, you can add it (and other accessories) to the Nexus Player using these 2 items. They were plug and play for me.
StarTech.com 5in Micro USB to USB OTG Host Adapter - Micro USB Male to USB A Female On-The-GO Host Cable Adapter Amazon product ASIN B00B4GGW5Q

Do you though.
Does the Nexus player come with the controller or is that an additional cost?Remember, my post you quoted was in response to someone who only wanted Kodi. This is strictly a media/Kodi player and Chromecast device for me, so it's performed flawlessly in that regard. Significantly better than the Amazon devices.
For a while, the Nexus was 1/4 the price of the Shield at $49. I set 2 of them up for a co-worker with Ethernet connectivity and still came out cheaper than the Shield.
