Looks decent, not sure I would get it though. Price isn't too bad.

if you can put Kodi on it, why not? on the other hand, there are plenty of cheaper options...

Yeah, already have a Raspberry Pi 2 with Kodi installed.

This could be good as a Roku, Fire, Apple TV alternative though.

Bit the bullet, picked one up a week and a half ago for my birthday. LOVE this joint. KODI works fast as hell on it, very responsive. The Android games that are optimized for it works nice, you can side load a ton of apps without rooting or jailbreaking. Plays Sega Dreamcast Roms, PSP in addition to MAME Roms damn near flamelessly. About to play Shenmue from beginning to end again since I no longer have a Dreamcast.

The GeForce games package works well too, it's like Netflix for video games. Free for the first 3 months then $7.99 after. There's quite a few but the library isn't massive. Haven't had a chance to check the PC to Shield streaming yet since I don't have a GeForce card in my PC.

I definitely recommend this for anyone who isn't a deep gamer but wants a great media set top box that also can play past and current generation games.

MY FAVORITE STREAMING DEVICE YET!!!
:yes::yes::yes::yes:

I bought one a few months ago and have it set up on my 65 inch 4k Sony - the shit is worth every damn penny!

Kodi? Shit works like butter and is FAST AS FUCK!!!

I used to buy those cheap Android PC's that would work (but stall out or drag) because they didn't have the processing power to keep up.

Shit is worth is fellas! BUY IT!

I haven't side loaded any apps yet. Where are you getting most of your android apps to download? Torrents? Yeah the box is beast, I love how fast Kodi acts on it. No bullshit, no dragging...click and go....

Why not just get a shield tablet instead?

Beacause the shield tablet is trash when I looked into it. This works better as streamer and full solution for kodi on your TV. Trust me I've owned multiple stream boxes, and mini pc's with "air remotes" NONE of thos came close to this solution in ease of use and smoothness. The Nvidia processor on there does it's job.

honestly I just Google "ANDROID APP NAME apk" and have had success finding working links.

Once I installed Chrome on it, it is much easier to add apks directly from the Shield itself.

Have KODI on my PC, my laptop and my Raspberry Pi 2.

It worked nice on all of those devices, and I had the RP2 connected to my TV at all times, but the way it responds on the Shield feels like it was made for it.

Fuck considering......this shit is dope! I got the 16g version ($199), since I have a TB drive with mad games, movies, music already.

I've heard nothing but good things about it. It is for gamers that don't want to invest too much time or money into a rig. And adding Kodi will make it an all around media center.

Garbage, not only do you have to buy the games at retail price to play on there you also have to pay them a monthly fee

With all due respect! Some of the opinions sometimes is SHIT on the board. Cats raved about the Chromecast, Amazon TV Stick and Bee X2 and i went out and bought them on the strength of the positive word of mouth here..

They were ALL ASS IMO. :puke:

So I'm not too keen on spending $200 this time on another strong recommend....

Just say'in!

Not sure what you are looking for, but for my (and it appears for Drayonis) entertainment needs, the Shield TV is perfect.

Too each his own, check out reviews online or on YouTube if you prefer to steer clear of BGOL reviews...

This device is DOPE.

You must not know how to use em. I have a Chromecast on every TV in my place, two tvs are already smart tvs. I wouldn't even use cable if it wasn't for the fact it is packaged with my internet.

Used to use my Chromecast, not so much (if at all) anymore. It was a cool device when it was new, but others came out and I don't remember seeing as much support for it as previously thought.

[Deal Alert] NVIDIA Offers A Free Remote With New SHIELD TV Purchases ($50 Value) [Update: $25 Off At Amazon]

http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/1...remote-with-new-shield-tv-purchases-50-value/

Just copped mine from Amazon for $175.00. That includes the remote.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U33Q940/?tag=vp314-20

Good looking out. Returning my Shield and reordering it. I've only had it like 2 weeks, but want money back and the remote. Amazon would do the price adjustments but not send the remote.

It's definitely a good deal.

Got my Shield TV yesterday. It updated and I loaded Kodi on it and 1 add-on from the repository, but I didn't get the chance to mess with it any further.

I could tell though that this thing is as fast as fuck compared to the M8 Android box a friend loaned me.

This weekend I plan on running an ethernet cable to increase performance over using wi-fi.

The NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV Will Be $50 Off With A Free Remote This Black Friday

http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/1...-50-off-with-a-free-remote-this-black-friday/

And I believe 50 bucks off on Cyber Monday on Amazon. If you paid $175.00 like I did, you should be able to get another 25 bucks back.

17 builds in 1 wizard.

I tried the Spinz-TV build. I like it.

ARES WIZARD ZIP: http://www.areswizard.co.uk/zip/

Really? Because my Amazon fire tv would struggle really bad with kodi. And that has a quad core processor

Not sure about the Fire TV, but I have a Raspberry Pi 2 with KODI on it, and once I hooked up my Shield TV, I haven't touched it. KODI works flawlessly on it.

Here are a few comparison links....
