the issue with monique was that she wanted folks to ban netflix becuase of what they wanted to give her. she could of did what louis ck did , shoot his own show and sell it digitally on line for 5.00. dude made over 2 million. she could of did that and use it for leverage with amazon prime or netflix.I was gonna mention New York undercover cuz those two did collectively try to get more money but they didn't have the leverage they thought...while the show was extremely popular among blacks and latinos it consistently ranked in the mid-30s in ratings....not bad enough to get cancelled but not good enough to demand more money and all kinds of riders in their contracts either....so the showrunner decided to split them up...kill off one and the other would buckle down and that's how the spanish dude got fired.
Hawaii 5-0 dropped the two asian cast members after 7 SEASONS when they asked for more money and the two white dudes leading the show weren't even as famous as those two...Grace Park had come off Battlestar Galactica and Daniel Dae Kim was on Lost...the guy who plays McGarrett is some canadian actor and Dano is more famous for being James Caan's son than anything he's ever done individually...yet they didn't get their backs.

I agreee with you about Friends but not The Town. Besides the bank robber aspect, there are NO similarities between the characters, storyline, Police or screenplay for those two films.
Ben is from Boston and knows that story all to well being from the block. Charlestown dudes was on some shit back then. You talking about a whole hood of professional criminals that all lived, breathed and hit licks like any person working a regular job.
Friends definitely stole its whole shit from Living Single.
But even though The Town is officially supposed to be based on the book Prince of Thieves, I don't think it was that or Set it Off.
I think it was based on the real-life dudes, Anthony Shea and the No Name Gang. They were actually bank robbers from the "town"(Charlestown) up in Boston.

Totally different films in EVERY way, from plot to production quality to budget to the talent involved. I don't think Set It Off was inspired by the great '70s Boston film The Friends of Eddie Coyle, or the novel Prince of Thieves.

I was watching seinfeld from day one. It hit its stride after season 1, but it was different enough to win my viewership from jump.
My vcr was on overtime taping shit back then.....so different with DVR and on demand viewing now....not ever having to miss shit.
