Star Wars The Last Jedi (SPOILER Discussion thread)

Is she really that Powerful? They already have her more powerful than Luke, Darth and Yoda at this stage...StarWars fans help me to understand this..

I believe she is what Luke was fearing, a being more powerful than any light or dark side user.

Probably a "gray" force user who can harness both light and dark, which is why she was hidden, and why Snoke wants her and will use Ren to get her.

I don’t know what any of that means. But it sound cool. Btw, is that dude KYLO REN going to bitch up again and get his ass handed to him? Ol boy just coming across as a spoiled brat at this point.

Underwhelming... shit I’m all in.

Why do people want trailers to show everything... just show me enough to be intrigued. I don’t want to see the plot or space battles. Just give me pieces.....
Im all in too. The trailer was just so so:dunno:

how would ren or snoke be jedi???

talking about the brother when he had the saber...I forgot his character name
Finn.

How's he going to be a Jedi when he never met Luke nor showed Force powers o_O

So it looks like Kylo is going to kill his mother AND father? I'll go to the theater just for the flight battles...they look awesome..
Nah, I think they want us to think that. I feel something else happens that catches us off guard.

that doesn't sound right... the force can be wielded light or dark by a force user no matter if grey jedi sith or just being a force wielder with no personal philosophy /religion
- it comes down to what the user chooses to open themselves too and their training.
The jedi teach to remove attachment and emotion - which becomes almost impossible if the training starts later in life than childhood -to jedi emotions lead to the dark side.
it was the main problem with training Anakin and was worse with Luke
My guess is now they are alluding to it for Luke training Ben /Kylo and now Rey

Not really. Jedi are force users. Snoke is a force user. So is Ren. Hell, Ren was training to be a Jedi.

The ex sanitation worker is not a force user.

Explain that to me. I get that the girl is supposed to be special blah blah blah. But how could she defeat REN who was aware of the force and was trained by Luke and others? Yet lose to someone that damn near never trained or even was aware of what the force is?

oook you were one of those posters who were vehemently against him potentially being a jedi...I remember now...explains why you’re purposely acting daft...lol @ snoke being jedi
LMAO Snoke is at least halfway there, being a force user and all!

Ok so this is gonna be a remake of Empire I bet, just like the force awakens was a remake of A New Hope.

I can’t believe no else has picked up on the main theme of Star Wars.. The Entire Thing is basically Cyclical. The path is trying to find a way to break the cycle... that’s where the Jedi continue to fail.

But the films all have the same basic progression, middle, and end.

Even the force unleashed and old republic have similar beats.

the explanation given is he was injured and even before that the act of killing his father disturbed / weakened him severely

It works in that universe because they have always shown that using the force requires focus
jedi focus via being centered and emotionless calm
sith focus via passion or even better rage - they also feed off opponents emotions of fear anger and rage

If Kylo actually felt remorse and grief his connection to the force would be very diminished

Unlearn what you have learned....this is Disney's show now.

I'm sure we will learn her backstory, but I think the reason she was left on that desolate planet was because she was too powerful in the force and they were afraid of what she could become.

He natural force ability once it awakened, was more powerful than any of the training Ren had under Luke's tutelage.

She's a force savant...

nah -Kathleen Kennedy is still following the Lucas bible on the force force users and approaches- aside from her saying it many times just look at Star Wars Rebels and Rogue One they show this repeatedly
with Ezra Bindoo & Chirrut

Im probably the only one but I watched OLD Star Wars but thats bout it. If I wanna watch this series from beginning to end, where I need to start?

jedi is not a class or rank its just a religion
Snoke is neither jedi nor sith
Kylo is neither jedi nor sith - Kylo wants to be sith but so far Snoke has been keeping that knowledge away from him

maybe - I can't wait to see how the craft this story

But you have to at least be a Force user to be either correct? I'm not all up on the old EU stuff, but I cannot recall a non-Force User Jedi.

Finn IS FORCE SENSITIVE at the least.

Check what happens at 1:35
