sorry tical, your movie sucks. Early Batman V Superman Reviews Are Largely Negative

Ben Affleck was a good Batman. He was violent and played the role well. There isn't going to be a separate Batman Movie so this is it. Wonder Woman as good as well. Looking forward to her movie. I don't like the Superman but now he is just tolerated. The Storyline wasn't bad.

The movie is better than the critics are saying.

:lol::lol:

This was my biggest gripe about the film. WB/DC didn't have enough faith in a standalone Superman sequel?

The "Man of Steel" made good money

Domestic: $291,045,518
Foreign: $377,000,000
Worldwide: $668,045,518

I thought that was successful. MoS made more domestically than Winter Soldier, but less than Winter Soldier worldwide.

I was at least expecting 50/50 or even 60/40 with BvS, but man, like I said in my earlier post this is another Batman movie with a guest appearance by Superman:smh:

If you're expecting a Superman sequel, you'll be disappointed
If you treat it like a Batman film, you'll like it a lot more

I hate Doomsday. I have always hated Doomsday. He was always a character created for a cashgrab in the comics. A walking plot device (ultra powerful, un-killable, mindless) that had its 15 minutes of fame.

If this had stayed a true Superman sequel, I think instead of Doomsday, they could have replaced him with Bizarro. I like the Bizarro origin stories where Luthor is his creator trying to make his own Superman with Kryptonian DNA and shit goes wrong.

You know they haven't reported the Thursday night sales yet...... Makes me wonder this movie isn't going to do numbers like say...Star Wars.
its not coming close -it has good numbers Thursday was 27 million but it was +50 million on Star Wars

MacArthur Norfolk va
Saw it in Lynnhaven Mall Virginia beach.. I didn't like it.. Writing was bad, to me Ben isn't a good batman like Christian bale was. If you had him still playing Batman and Cristopher Nolan directed like the other batman movies- then it'll be the movie everyone was waiting for

You're wrong about this, after DC saw how great Ben Affleck was in the movie they already greenlight a trilogy.

There will be a Man of Steel 2 and Batman trilogy.

Edit:I could of swore someone posted a story last year that Dawn of Justice wasn't Man of Steel 2...I guess not.

"If you are expecting non-stop action, like in The Avengers, and snappy one-liners ala Ironman, you will be disappointed. But if you like dark, grim, gritty, but flawed heroes, this is for you.

Eff what the critics say. See the movie and judge it for yourself. It was worth my money."

Wonder Woman and Batman are the only real green lights right now
JL and MoS2 etc will depend on how BvS performs

what does gritty even mean? its a hollow and useless statement. Superman is a symbol of hope. why was his ass depressed throughout the movie? Batman has quotes...well known memes about why he doesnt kill...why was he driving over folks, blowing people up, and branding them knowing full well the brand would get them killed in prison? it wasnt about it being "dark and gritty", it was about the writers mismanaging the characters people grew up with.

Winter Soldier was a cot damn slasher film...but Captain America (Superman) remained wholesome while also never losing your respect, and Bucky was a fucking psycho antihero whose humanity was saved by that wholesome light emanating from the Cap. those writers made it about as dark as you can get without perverting the characters. Marvel found balance.

DC let outsiders change Superman into Woody Allen and Batman into Charles Bronson all the while making their version of The Winter Soldier.

I think you point out why some people have such a visceral and exxagerated hate of this movie and MoS.

They actually look at these characters as heroes and moral compasses. Good guys vs bad guys. I cannot tell a lie.

I never looked at these characters that way, so it doesn't bother me. These same people would hate the graphic novels.

"these people" love the graphic novels and derivative stories,
they are well written and respect the characters - unlike the films by Goyer Snyder Singer et al

Goyer Snyder Singer would make a bible movie about David & Goliath with Peter Dinklage as Goliath looking up at a 12y/o David
or
Sampson with the character has alopecia, is an atheist and lives at the end.

Well the first cam copy has dropped so I'm bout to check it. Main issue I have is having to see Martha and Thomas get killed for the millionth fuckin time on film. Waste of fuckin time IMO. Who da fuck don't know Batman origin by now????????????

I said some.

Because if you like Avengers but don't like this movie because the plot is lacking, you're not being honest. That's my point. If you're a stickler for plot, you'll hate this movie and all the marvel movies except Winter Soldier.

Those were my very first thoughts when viewing it live.. But it served a purpose as the film progressed.

true... Avengers had a crap plot, but never shitted on the characters...
If this movie respected the characters it would have pulled off the same miracle Avengers did

Apparently, the same people who don't know he doesn't use guns. Or who don't know Superman's origin. Or that Superman doesn't kill. Or that Kryptonite can kill him.

This is the point I've been making all along. Supes and Bats aren't just comic characters, they're ICONS. Before Iron Man if you asked people who the Marvel characters were most wouldn't have a clue. But everybody knows who supes and bats are. Consequently, they already have firmly established personalities, powers and missions. That makes it difficult for writers (and actors) because we've already seen them in many incarnations. The writers missed badly. As far as actors, not one has the chops to bring any kind of depth to their roles. Eisenberg, I have no idea, Amy Adams is awful, Gal Godot is out of her depth, Affleck is one dimensional and Henry Cavill should stick to modeling or anything that doesn't require emoting; he's dreadful. Overall, you must blame the director because they're following his instructions. The movie wasn't bad bad but for 250 mil and the hype it falls flat.
Buk hit the nail on the head.
