Soccer: Copa America Centenario Final Match (Who U Got?)

SOrry to break the news to you but Dunga wasn't the manager at the world cup,,, I still want him out though, not one player as improved under him...
Yes he was. He was the manager at the fiasco in South
Africa, that allowed a European team to win a World
Cup outside Europe for the first time ever

Isn't the reason they rehired him that they have run out of
options. I never liked Dunga the first time, and I did not like
him this time. Then there is the question of the quality of
Brazilain players. There are what, 1100 of them in foreign
leagues?"?? Other than Neymar, who else among them is a
superstar?

Brazil needs to go back to the way it used to train footballers
before. I do not care if you bring Rembrandt Van Ryn; you
cannot paint a masterpiece if your paints and materials are
the current crop of Brazilians.

Dunga was a desperation hire for the exact reason stated being that the pool of coaches is very slim. Mario Menezes was a great coach for the Selecao and shouldn't have been axed for Big Phil, but such life in Brazilian football I suppose.

The production line of Brazilian starlets has however come to a standstill and there isn't a go to response as to why. My guess is the influence of foreigners and their innovation. In the past, Brazilians were the standard of football around the world where they were homegrown and couldn't be touched. These days, players like Firminio, Coutinho, Felipe Luis, David Luiz all have a European playing style and have forgotten their Ginga in exchange for a European lifestyle.

They need to get back to basics and find their identity because as of two-three years ago, nobody is worrying about Brazil.

Do they have replays for balls and strikes in MLB?
Do they have replays for fouls in baseball?

The genius of this game is its simplicity, and this
is why it is so popular. FIFA should not implement
rules that introduce unfairness in the game.

If you introduce instant replay, then the poor who
cannot afford it become disadvantaged...

your argument makes no sense.
like no fucking sense at all
like just idiotic level of sense.
MLB does have replay for crucial plays dunce.
A ball and a strike isn't the same as a fucking GOAL

You said rules that introduce unfairness to the game
as Brazil is eliminated on a bogus fucked up call that should not have happened and wouldn't have sent them home and possibly gotten people fired if they were allowed to review it.

sit down

I hope that your next response is in the mode of an adult.

The rules of the game have always been the rules of the
game. The simplicity of the game is why it is far and away
the number 1 sport in the world. There will never be complete
perfection in any sport. In 1966, in the final game of the
World Cup held in Wembley, Hurst of England, famously
hit a shot that hit the crossbar, hit the ground and then
rebounded back in the field. That strike which is stilll
debated today was counted as a goal, and England went
on to win the World Cup 4-2 against Germany.

In 1986, Maradona palmed the ball into the goal, as
Argentina beat England 2-1 on the way to a World Cup
victory against Germany.

That is football; that is how it is. And that is how it
should be.

I can't stand the fuckers but they do ball their asses off. Tecatito pulled them out the flames with his solo effort cause Argentina would've gotten at em as they always do.

Great game.

Venezuela is going to give Argentina problems.
I was really impressed with their speed and the set piece for the "chilena" goal

Dunga sacked as Brazil head coach following Copa America exit

Dunga has been sacked as head coach of Brazil following their group-stage exit from the Copa America.

The Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed on Tuesday that the 52-year-old had been relieved of his duties after less than two years in the job.

Brazil were dumped out of the Copa America for the first time since 1987 after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Peru in Massachusetts on Sunday.

They had started their 2016 Copa America campaign with a goalless draw with Ecuador before thrashing Haiti 7-1.

Dunga, who captained Brazil to the 1994 World Cup in the USA, was in his second spell as head coach, having spent four years in charge between 2006 and 2010.

He returned to the role in July 2014, replacing Luiz Felipe Scolari, and inherited a Brazil team that had been defeated 7-1 by Germany on home soil in the World Cup semi-finals.

His second stint in charge failed to deliver the success desired by the CBF, losing to Paraguay in the quarter-finals of the 2015 Copa America and then failing to advance past the group stage of this year's competition.

Dunga Fired As Brazil Coach Following Copa America 2016 Failure

http://nesn.com/2016/06/dunga-fired-as-brazil-soccer-coach-following-copa-america-2016-failure/

Anyone who doubts the importance of Copa America 2016 only needs to look at Dunga to realize the error of their ways. Brazil’s soccer federation fired Dunga as national-team coach Tuesday, announcing the decision to dismiss him in a statement on its website.

“The Brazilian Football Confederation decided Tuesday to dissolve the technical committee of the Brazilian national team. Team coordinator Gilmar Rinaldi, coach Dunga and his entire team leave their positions. “The decision was taken by mutual consent during a meeting this afternoon and, from now, the CBF starts the process of choosing the new technical committee of the Brazilian national team. “CBF thanks the staff for their dedication, seriousness and commitment while performing the work.” Dunga’s firing comes in the aftermath of Brazil’s failure at Copa America 2016 in the United States. Brazil lost 1-0 to Peru on Friday at Gillette Stadium, and the result confirmed the team’s elimination in the group stage — its earliest exit from a Copa America tournament since 1987.

When asked Friday at his postgame press conference if he feared for his job, Dunga said he only fears death.

Dunga captained Brazil to victory in the 1994 FIFA World Cup as a player, but the second of his two tenures in charge of the national team has ended more infamously than the first. Brazil re-hired him after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but fortunes hardly improved under his guidances. Brazil reached the quarterfinals of Copa America 2015 in Chile but lost to Paraguay on penalty kicks. Brazil then sputtered through its first six games of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying and currently sit outside the four-and-a-half qualifiers for Russia 2018.

The group-stage exit at Copa America 2016 proved to be the final straw for Dunga. Brazilian television station Globo reported Tuesday that Corinthians coach Tite is expected to replace Dunga in the national-team dugout. Dunga’s successor will be expected to lead Brazil to victory later this summer at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. No pressure.

Believe it or not, his job isn't in jeopardy with this tournament. The straw that gonna break that camel's back would be failure to qualify for Russia 2018. That would certainly get him axed, but I don't think he'll be on the hook for this one

As much hate as he gets from the US fan base, he's done very well off the pitch in terms of player development, selections, etc..

The in game tactics at times tho do you make you wonder. I find myself screaming at his lineups often.

So the USA coach is safer than the Brazil coach...

Candle explain this to me please.

Expectations family.

We don't have that ferocious footballing culture here in the states just yet. That's not to discredit what we have, because from it's inception, it's grown in popularity without question, and whilst the tide is turning everyday and newer generations of footballers are coming thru the pipeline, matches are still treated as events, rather than a sport. An evening out, something to do, a place to go grab some beer with your friends and relax.

All across the globe, the onus is the other way around. I was in England over the Christmas period, and caught some matches and the intensity and demand that fans place on the 22 men on the pitch was inspiring. 75k from child to grandfather, honed in and focused on every run, every pass, every shot. It's intense.

The way we treat the NFL and NBA games here are the way folks view football globally, especially in Brazil. The expectations are greater, the demands are higher, and because the ferocity in which people view these matches are so high, the pressure to perform, entertain and win is greater.

And when you don't win, they call for your head as Dunga has recently learned... Again.

The Mexican fan base are also notorious for this. They switch managers every month it seems because the fans pour money into the game and expect to win everything.

That's why I was saying that contrary to popular belief, Klinsmann is in a good spot win or lose. He's built this team from the ground up and knows what's needed in order to reach the next level.

He makes questionable decisions at times yes, which managers don't, but he's not receiving the flack that he would if he were in his native Germany and right now, he's the best we've got.

He's actually touched on this very topic before and I'm paraphrasing here but it was to the tune of "I want American fans to ask for my head. I want them to question everything I do because it shows they give a sh*t. It's badly needed here."

GODDAMN, is that 3 players out for the semifinal now?

EDIT: and you gave them an opportunity for a set piece, which they converted to a goal. Thanks a lot.

Bedoya was tired.. Stupid foul but I felt him. He put in a shift like shit. the Zusi sub should've came just before that happened

Mexico are getting cleaned up by chile. There goes my prediction for them going all the way.

The US fan in me is on cloud 9...

Man that shit was terrible.. This ones gonna be hanging around conversations for at least the next 5 years.

True.
I felt sorry for Ochoa. One of the best Keepers at the last WC being made useless and irrelevant in this match :)
