Thanks for bumping this. Few things to know:

XBMC is now KodiTV.

The new website to download everything is TVADDONS.AG

There they have the install wizards, advanced settings, all that stuff there.

To set up the fusion add on installer, it's still the same set up. Go to settings, file manager, add source then type in this:

Boom..... done....


1 channel has been acting up lately. It's been causing my gbox to freeze up.... Sometimes it plays others it don't. But the newest version has the entertainment hub repo that downloads when using the wizard installer and that bitch has EVERYTHING. It's not as user friendly as 1 channel but it's still very easy to use. Watched TMNT in HD Saturday, no freezing no buffering no nothing.

As I think of more I'll add on. But the main 2 things I covered already. Hit me up if any of you guys have any questions about this shit I'm a pro with it now

Just copped one for $88. I had a media player box die on me in the other bedroom. So this G-box was about the same price as a plain media player and I get more for the money.

Anything I can download that will preload a lot of stuff for me in one hit? Something similar to this, but can be loaded on a flashdrive...

so it could be unstable in some ways. Gotham is still the stable build.

Yeah Mashup was my fave also.

But relax everybody there are plenty more addons available. In fact, the streaming movement is drastically growing. The name change was necessary. I have KODI on my laptop and HTPC but I am hesitant to put it on my GBox because of some issues I read about previously. But it looks like it is all good now.

I have a couple of Gboxes queued in my Amazon account. I had planned on making them Xmas gifts. But now I'm a little hesitant because this isn't a plug and play type thing. Addons will come and go and I would hate to have a bunch of phone calls for help when things like what happened to Mashup occurs.

I've found that most of Mashup's functions still work once you download and install it from a zip file (check out the link I provided a few posts ago). Even though it is officially dead, I find that it is still the easiest way to search for movies and TV shows because it essentially searches various repositories and that function still works.

I have all the addons you mentioned, but still liked Mashup the best. I'm beginning to realize that even with Mashup installed from the zip file, more and more of its functions are beginning to die.

I know. I know. That's why I am hesitant. The problem with streaming is that sheeple have been spoon fed content for years and now that they have to actually do work for entrtainment it is a problem. I read on a movie steaming forum how this one guy hooked up a friend who was an avid tv watcher by loading xbmc on her apple tv box. She had like a $300 a month cable bill. After a week she complained to him that she didn't like the streaming because the only way she falls asleep at night is with the tv playing. And with streaming, after the show or movie ends you have to manually select the next one. Like, really?

Couple of questions

Can you install Showbox on it? Yes

Can you stream files from a NAS on it? Yes

How has it done for heat? I've read some of the minipc's get hot and have issues. No problems with heat with mine. I have had it freeze and reboot a couple of times but that is about the extent of it.

The hardware is solid. It is with the addons that problems may occur (like Mashup recently). But like I mentioned earlier the addon community is growing fast and new streaming addons are popping up frequently.

Great News!!!

I have 4 devices in my home that was running XBMC (3 G-Boxes and a Tablet). Mashup never updated on 1 of my G-Boxes (it never received any of the updates from the past few months, I can't even remember how I got Mashup onto it). I copied all of the Mashup files from my working G-Box and overwrote the Mashup files on my Tablet and now it works too.

I'm back in business!!!

Bruh, you are looking at it the wrong way (like many people do when trying to understand streaming).

Channels like HBO and Showtime are content providers, meaning they collect (or produce) the content then gives it to you at their discretion when you purchase their service (subscribe to their channel). With streaming, the content (shows and movies) is available to you without having to tune into a channel.

Like spider705 said you don't need HBO, Showtime, NBC, AMC,or any other network channel when all of the shows and movies are readily available to you. Every season and every episode of HBO's Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, True Detective and any other show they have is readily available. Same with all the other networks.

The biggest difference I can explain is with paid TV you choose the channel where the show is playing. With streaming addons you choose the show, season, and episode. And you don't have to pay for the addons. That is unless too many of y'all motherfuckas run your mouths and fuck it up for the rest of us.

How do I get CLIQ and Genesis??

Search youtube on how to install Fusion properly.
Then search youtube on how to install each addon through Fusion.

After Fusion is installed getting new addons become fairly easy.

If you have a decent Android tablet, you can install XBMC or KODI without having to buy a G-Box. I have XBMC running on 4 G-Boxes and 2 Tablets (one of which is my HP Touchpad that a lot of us got on clearance). You can also install it on most PC's/laptops. That way you can try it out without spending any extra money. Then you can decide if you want to invest in a G-Box from there.
