Speaking of Tyler Perry, I actually thought that this show would have ended like the last scene of The Haves and The Have Nots where literally everybody died and in spectacular fashion
For what he did to the community that was a fitting end that is worse than death for Franklin. But as the character you wanted him to win.
I loved it… I see the parallels to the ending of The Wire when Michael became Omar and Dukie became Bubbles.
V became Cissy with a baby boy she was going to raise right and Franklin you guessed it became Alton.
The acting was superb and a great ending to a special series. Frank was the walking living dead.

This was the best ending ever. The rise and fall of franklin is very relatable since their are a lot franklins like that in real life.
Cissy gave franklin the cold shoulder and silence every time he was angry to try to get money anyway that he could.
leon was smart to get out and get his education to make a change for his neighborhood.
Franklin had it all but lost it all and became a bum like his father being an alcoholic.

ehh at the ending, but there were a lot of parallels to real life, especially here in los angeles
that newspaper under leon's feet in 1987...you could see that things were falling apart, government was on to other things and central america was in the rear view...ghetto be damned
at least the peaches loose end was cleaned up. foul what happened to the locksmith.

All the things Veronique and her mother said Franklin should have know what she was going to do.
This series had some of the most great,intense and unflinching performances i have ever seen
The late great John Singleton crafted a series that was a joy,pleasure and painful to watch sometimes i got all three at the same time.
It was a mixture of terrible truths,and fictional and memorable characters caught up in them,that made me think of what i read and and watched over the years about the drug pandemics and the CIA's involvement.
A haunting and somber ending. Singleton would be proud

They did not have to do you Nigga Frank Saint like that. He had a pilot's license and a plane. He did not have to go out like that. Fucking sad, he went out worse than a crackhead.

Streaming services are a gift and a curse.
They allow you have to fun things like "Power Rangers Once and Always" or give platforms/new life to old sitcoms that would otherwise be collecting dust somewhere in a Hollywood warehouse.
But then you end up with the constant spin-offs and needs for a "universe".
In my opinion, this show doesn't need to spin off, that final scene of Franklin and Leon should be the end of the story, it was John's style of storytelling, no need to continue it. We never got Boyz-in-the-Hood 2 and we don't need it. If you did it for "For John" then this is the end of the Snowfall storyline.

Man! What can I say. Truly heartbreaking end to a great story. Franklin let his pride for money get the best of him. I get it. It’s hard to let it go once you’ve attained it at one point, but damn, his decent into madness was gradual and painful. All he had left in the end was the bottle in his hand.
When he told Leon that he didn’t have any chains on him and that he was free was a real thug tear moment. Got a little dusty. And for him to say that as they were about to take his crib.
Franklin finally seemed to accept his fate. He literally lost it all. Veronique did the right thing as much as I hate to say it. His mom and her both seen the path he was on and it wasn’t any turning back. He was truly lost in his own demise. She took the kid and got the fuck outta there.
Louie on the run was fitting because she was just as greedy, if not more, than Franklin. Jerome tried to get her out the game, but she had this chip on her shoulder to prove she could run with the big boys. She’s the honest reason Jerome is dead, not Franklin. Now, she has to run for the rest of her life. You ran full speed for the respect, now you gotta run away for your life. The game is the game.
Cissy lost her husband, son, brother and now her freedom. She did Franklin one last favor no matter how much we may not agree with it, she looked out for her son. It’s just sad that he couldn’t see that. He was free at that moment. All he had to do was sell the properties and take his family away from there. But, being that the greed had him by the balls, he didn’t see it that way.
At the end of the day, this was the most satisfying outcome for a show like this. We always get a death, jail or some bullshit outcome that doesn’t make a lick of sense. This put everyone where they belonged in line with their character and choices. It had to end this way.

I thought that was neat how when Franklin and Leon were coming out the alley, they saw John Singleton filming Boys In The Hood.

I don't think Franklin will appear in the spinoff, sorta like Walter White from Breaking Bad didn't really appear in Better Call Saul storyline.
The storyline has to be separate and apart from Snowfall, otherwise it will be terrible. All the main players from Snowfall are done for so it's like beating a dead horse if they were to try to continue any of their storylines.
Leon realized Franklin used him without his knowledge to get a drink. He realized Franklin was completely and utterly "addicted" to alcohol and became the very thing they created ..addicts. Then Leon was there to actually see Franklin lose that very last thing he had, his home. Just so happen to be there at that moment and that Franklin was okay with it, he accepted it probably because he knew he deserved that sentence. He still was blaming everybody else. His mom, his wife. Franklin deserved that shit, a life worse than death. He was in living hell.
I loved the deeper commentary on capitalism and what it does to people.
My only complaint with the finale is how they glossed over the aftermath once Congress found out about the CIA's (and the Reagan Administration) scheme to fund an illegal war Congress would not fund by dumping cocaine in the hoods. That was a HUGE scandal. I know Cissy yelled about it in court, but my gosh, that should have been touched on much more heavily. My only complaint. Everything else was flawlessly executed. They landed the plane quite well to end Snowfall.
