Sanaa Lathan In Another IR Flick

No Blunt, you're the idiot!!!!

Sidney Poitier, Claudia McNeil, Ruby Dee, Diana Sands and Ivan Dixon starred in the original.
And now this lame ass group "starring" in a remake???? What a fuckin' travesty.
Phylicia Rashad in the Claudia McNeil role??? P. Diddy doing Sidney's part??? Sanaa as Diana Sands character??? Gimme a break. :smh:
Some original classic movies were so good a remake could never measure up and should not be attempted. A Raisin In The Sun is one such classic.

I agree. Phylicia, I'd give a shot at. The rest? :smh: This is just ego stroking for Diddy. Its just something else that he can say he "did" even though he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. I wonder how much MONEY he put into this? You can tell this shit is gonna fail before it starts.

As long as the plot of the movie doesn't revolve around the interracial relationship, then what's the big deal? That's the only reason I didn't see Something New. But Denzel & Will Smith have starred across from several beautiful non-black women and in good quality films. I never hear this type of dissent from black men when it comes to that though...

To each his/her own, I guess.

If I want to hear a white boy whine, I just show him my bank statement and pull down my pants. ;)

Hey if you are open-minded (which you don't appear to be) lol I could send you a couple of tracks from different whining white boys. If you would like to take this to messenger.

What a dope. Uhhh, I guess you were asleep for the last few years and missed the fact that this classic PLAY was revived on Broadway with this cast and was a huge success. Sanaa and the others (excluding Diddy) were all TONY-nominated. (BTW, Audra McDonald has already won 3 TONYs. Bet you don't even know who this brilliant black actress/singer even is.) Naturally, this cast has reprised the play on film, so as to have a permanent record. The play's been filmed several times before, not only in '61 but in '88 as well, with Danny Glover and Esther Rolle.

Great works are redone all the time, idiot. And any BLACK classic that gets revived this successfully is far more worth your attention than whom an actress kisses in a scripted MOVIE.

I was just messing with you. I have a vast music collection. I don't do "emo" and shit like that, though.

The lack of respect that I have gotten from black women over the years is a muthafucka. I do the right things, work, school, and I got my own.

The disrespect does not even have to be blatant. It can be in other ways. I mean I can meet a black female who is nice to me but she has that deep down innate disrespect for brothas. She'll disrespect you in subtle ways. Playing games with yo mind like she digs ya just to get an ego boost. They respect that white boy though.

I thought it was just Boston but it's national. I have seen it Down South, The Midwest, and the Westcoast.

This is why my attraction for other women has grown so much. Black women play with brothas and don;t take them seriously. So I have been losing respect for them. I never wanted it to be this way but this is the way it is.

That white boy aint gonna do nothing new with her except what he's always been doing with her. Exploiting and using and abusing her ass. Fuck her.

All the bigoted crybabies should just go watch this again ... and again ... and ...

I just have problem with the double standard in Hollywood. For some reason they have a problem with showing a black man being intimate on screen and also notice most films with a black man as a love interest are never serious only romantic comedies. Meanwhile they release ridiculous movies with black women choosing white gardeners over rich successful black men or black women actually dating racist skin heads  I think that type of shit fucks with young black men and women psychologically. Its like saying anything is better than being/being with a black male. But I digress...

I really enjoyed the story you wrote. I'm curious if that was actual personal experience or all imagination? I would hate to think a couple of bad apples has totally ruined an obviously classy and intelligent black woman's love for all of us.

Well I don't want this to turn to a black women hate thread. I still love black women none of these other bitches out here can touch them but its infuriating trying to find a good one to give you some rhythm. I just hope I find one to kick it with before they all turn against us lol.

I don't get the whole "emo" thing anyway. I'm talking about people like Linkin Park, Story of the Year, Disturbed, Dethklok, The Fray, emmm Rage against the machine etc etc.

A big part of the problem is that Black society doesn't control much of anything and it seems like there's no interest in really unifying ourselves to create businesses and institutions to display movies, images, etc.. to present black people in more positive and better images and roles.

When was the last time has anyone here seen a scifi movie that was prodomiently african american??? Never.

Please don't count the Matrix. There were a few black actors and actresses but it wasn't mostly black... Plus the main character was white.

Hell, white people bitched when Eddie Murphy's Boomer Rang came out a while back. Claiming blacks could never run a successful major business.

I'm tickled at the image of Mouse rockin out to Numb or Down with the Sickness.

True shit. And remember when Cosby Show was on the air they were like oh there wouldn't be a black doctor and black lawyer in a black family and there were even some dumb niggas agreeing with that shit

I think you are right we need to make some power moves. Spike Lee once said we'll never get the stories we want/need to tell in hollywood because we don't own any studios. I think he was looking into opening one with some other black investors. I wonder what ever came of that? But yeah like I said we also need to stop selling out the institutions we build like BET.

I'm not surprised you know she digs them white boys. She always defending that cracka Steelwill in this bish.

Shut cho azz I said. And I haven't defended him no where thanks.

I heard your wittle-bitty voice in your thread and the image of that voice singing "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" with your head bopping up and down is hilarious.

And that's Drowning Pool not Disturbed.

Stop supporting R&B/Gangster Rap/Stripper music and videos and you'll change the system. Problem is we as a people are stuck in a cave looking at shadows on the wall and would rather stay there looking at that than going outside and seeing reality. We are lost and doomed.

Man I hope Dec. 21st 2012 puts and end to this niggarish culture we have foolishly clung to for a couple of decades now.

Yo, the coolest women in college where the white women, no joke. Now white women are looking better than Latin and Asian. It's now down to white female vs black female. So far the white gal been winning, the attitude, she's in better shape, and unfortunately she's more appealing. I hate it but it's going that way.

And you can't compare sistas and brothas weight cause black men are some of the most athletic men in the country.

Many times I hate being attracted to other bitches cause sistas wont give a nigga the time of day. But shit, if the white girl want the black dick, she'll get. No questions asked.

Yeah but once you take your dick out them bitches corny and their friends are corny. You ever dance with a white bitch? They ain't got NOOO rhythm. Not like a black woman. That shit translates in the bedroom.

Just because a bunch of ofay fucks like you sit around and decide who should be nominated for a Tony for "starring" in a revival of classic black experience movie like A Raisin In The Sun doesn't mean black people share in, or agree with, "their" decision. And you missed the point entirely. It's not that these people are not talented. The point is they are miscast in this remake, as pretty much any present day actor would be.
