As much as I distrustful of the CAC, I have to tell you one of the best, coolest dudes I ever associated with was a black surfer dude type that pledged a white fraternity. He totally was not a Tom, but since he was into things like surfing, skating, etc that black people in that area weren't fucking with at the time he told me the other black dudes basically treated him like shit because he was not into the things they thought were "black" things. He was smart, funny, and very aware of his blackness but he wasn't ok with being locked into the mold of the black frat and I respected that. He also wasn't always up in white girl faces like you would expect. We had fun.

i guess i am not a friend because i dont help people move anymore because when i show up to help them move i am the only one who shows up.

No two people are the same. This needs to stop! Mistreating and judging our own based only upon their likes and dislikes. Why must there always be a price to pay for individual thinking? Imagine being ostracized just because your social likes are different.

I will forever hire movers from now on... not that friends dont/wont help .. but its a lot of pressure to put on them .. You can't be mad at them if they scratch you're table because they are doing you a favor .. but movers .. you can be

Agreed, and it was truly their loss because he was a sincere and motivated dude (not one of those I'm gonna party and get ass but never graduate types).
Never truer words have been spoken. I found out the hard way who my friends are when it was my turn to move home. The people who promised that there were going to be there for me mysteriously disappeared that day. I made it very clear that those aren't welcomed in my house at all.
I was getting my arse kicked today on that cycle ride. 36 miles at that pace.........I better start practising longer routes from now on.
I got no problem with people not helping move....but just say so when asked about it. Dont say yes then disappear on move day.
That being said...from now on I will no longer be helping move. I will even help my friends put in money for movers but I aint tryin to lift nothing anymore.
