That's wassup Doggish! Thanks for the look. What times does the Center City Sips start on Weds. and what's a good time to go down to see the Roots and the fireworks? My biggest thing right now is trying to make black friends man because of the industry that I'm in doesn't have a lot of black people and the fact that I'm not really in the Philly area that much right now because of all the traveling. Shit, I would say I'd check out them places but I'm not sure how I'd feel about rollin' dolo down to spots like that. I guess I could just go and check out the places once.
I actually stay like 25 minutes outside of the city up toward the Willow Grove area. Is the Manayunk bar scene mostly white? If that's the case then I'll pass on that shit and just go when a couple of my white friends invite me to some shit they want to do. I'm not scoping for Becky...I'll just run into her on accident!
1. the roots will probably start late night around 9 9:30ish followed by the fireworks
2. the center city sips is like a summer long happy hour so they start around 5 or 5:30. i posted a link in the philly thread in the sub forum on the main board.
3. Manayunk is still a white scene you can catch a few of us splattered here and there. The good think about Manayunk is they cater to the cacs so you can always find cheap drinks specials.
4. going out alone isnt so bad eventually you will develop your "bar family" especially if you go to places like Copa often enough.
jazzy jeff is a bad muthafucka even the people in the band were snapping pics in awe. hope someone uploads that to youtube.
try to get his interests into playing games that teach him things....like objects or words.
you have a very talented son and his interests need to be fulfilled with knowledge that will make him a smarter person.
you also need to balance his computer activities with social interaction with kids and also going outside and playing.
my nephew sat/sits at the computer all the time and now the lazy fucker doesnt want to play any sports.

It's called a stay-cation, and, yes, sometimes it can be very fun to "not go somewhere," but just enjoy the city for some of the tourist aspects...
I always shoot off to the mountains to enjoy the scenery and peace out there, although it's a short drive away...for me, it's a vacation that costs little to nothing, but gives me peace of mind easily

When I saw this on the main board, I didnt respond due to the context of which it was posted. Thank you for posting it over here Izzy. I try to instill the same mentality in my daughter to just be free and herself and that in reality is what makes her beautiful. I am getting one of those tees for her.

I'm hoping at some point in time we as a race can evolve beyond our superficial standards. To grow beyond wondering what others would think about us. To deal with people for who they are as opposed to what they look like.
