why do all the black kids want to grow up to be basketball and football players when all the money is obviously in baseball... Ryan Howard just signed a new contract at the beginning of last season today he signed a 125 million dollar extension.all guaranteed money
This might be my inner Texan in me, but it sounds like you are castrating him with the "no football" stance. Well, football down here is as religious as being a Baptist... I said let the boy play football. Hell, he can get hurt playing around at the house faster than anything on that field. Plus, its an excellent anger management tool.
But, that's just me...
Because it's 182 games...half on the road...for about 8 or 9 months a year...more pressure to perform every day
NFL - 16 games
NBA - 82 games
More bang for your buck. Most people ain't getting Howard money.![]()

Ugh, I am so not into talking about weight right now. I think if I don't take some quick action my job is going to kill me. I believe I've put on at least ten pounds since I started working...

Dom Repub was fun ... definitely more for family/group vacays .. not for single ladies .. Next time I vacay it will be more than just me & roommate. I was tired of people thinking we were a lesbian couple ... the food @ the all - inclusive was very bleh ...
3 Of Those Doom Vids Are Favs Of Mines Was Trynna Put Someone Onto Him The Other Weekend When They Saw The Madvillany Cover
Actually, it's LESS pressure to perform because of the high number of games. You have people go on 2 and 3 month bad streaks and still get paid cause they can even it out.
Baseball is also much more of a team sport.
not true at all in baseball if you fail 70% of the time you are considered a hall of fame player
Disagree.
I was actually talking money vs. work as in games played and time off but...
If you are an every day player and you go up to bat 4 times a game and you only hit once a game your ass is out the league.
Hit twice you might be able to stick around.
But if your ass don't have a shit load of 3 or 4 hit nights from time to time you might end up with a sub .200 batting average and lose that check.
Not to mention depending on where you play on the field and the fielding errors.
Basketball if your shot ain't going and you can get some rebounds and blocks that night you good. Football if you can't get any yards but you can throw some blocks you good.
Baseball if you ass can't hit and fuck up in the field you are gone. Even if you good in the field and hit like shit you still might be gone.![]()
Me either!!! I am upset I lost some .. but been stuck @ my current weight for a few weeks.. now that I'm back from vacay its time to step up the efforts. No more slouching allowed!!

I missed internet and BBM while I was gone. Sad but true..
Thanks CT!
But can I buy it? I got a dinning hutch that is screaming for a period piece that looks like it's a prop from the Chronicles of Riddick
I might have to take some dirt to the mask though to give it that worn look.
But good find CT!
i disagree with that
if kobe goes 0-15 shooting for 5 games people will start question does he still have it is he hurt maybe he should retire blah blah blah
if the best player in baseball goes 0-5 for five consecutive games they will just say he is in a slump and will snap out of it soon.
if you bat 4 times a game and get one hit like you said you average will be .250 now throw in some 3-4 and 2-4 nights and you average will be up near .300 and that is a good hitter in baseball standards. like i said before baseball is the only sport where you are expected to fail.
now if you can't field then you are useless to your team unless you are in the AL where you would be the DH.
you are wrong bruh... baseball is a game designed for you to fail about 70% of the time. if you are batting .250 you are failing 75% of the time nobody batting 1-4 is going to be booted out of the league. hitting the ball consistently at you call it is batting between 25 and 30% a year. You still making my point for me.
If "Kobe" were to go 5 for 20...nobody in the NBA who takes that many shots will miss them all 5 games straight so lets be realistic...then they will find ways to get Kobe open or find ways for him to get to the hole. Can't shoot from the outside then drive. Can't drive then pull up from the midrange. Lots of ways to work around and move with the team. Can't shoot then do other shit like steal or pass or rebound.
Shit Allen Iverson is a career sub .500 shooter from the floor and he is still one of the best around. Cause he can steal, handle, pass (when he want to) and believe it or not he's a good rebounder for a small guard. Shit you damn near auto HOF if you shoot above .500 in basketball. Because you take more shots.
In baseball there is no way to get you open. There is no way to provide you contact with the ball if you are in a slump. It's 4 shots a game if you are lucky. It's you vs. the ball. If you can't hit that damn ball consistently you are on your way out. No compensating in baseball.

there is more pressure to perform night in and night out in basketball than there is in baseball. especially if you are considered a "superstar" player
Batting average is the only thing you are talking about.
You do realize that if a baseball player is lucky he may only get 700 at bats in a season. "Superstar" basketball player that gets 15 to 20 shots a game can double that easy. Kobe triples that without blinking!
Thus the differences in averages. If you shoot 40% or better from the field in basketball you are in the realm of being elite. 30% for a baseball player. More shots = better average.
Plus you do realize that Kobe could go 8 for 30 (less than 25%) and hit free throws and STILL score 20 or 25 a game. Hell if he missing more shots he can just shoot more. You miss them damn four swings you done for the night in baseball.
But fuck it I'll let you have it. You comparing apples to oranges though is what I'm saying here. Less margin for error in baseball because of the limited number of opportunities.
