Project Pat:I Like Jay-Z As Far As His Business Sense,But I Was Never Into His Music I Just Was Never Feeling Jay-Z Like That

This is true...Trae the truth talks about this... Jay z is a person I don't listen to...he definitely went and snitched and shut this operation down... brah
This has been known for years now.At first No one never knew what the real reason why the F.E.D.S busted in on Irv Gotti(Murder Inc)what was there motives what was there ulterior motives. The South knew more about than what the East Coast did,Because of James Prince he was in on the idea of what would become potentially the first ever black owned music distribution company. This was something huge of high magnitude and they Universal records,Red Distribution,EMI distribution knew it.They knew they were gonna have equal footing in the game.

that sounds good, but do you think "the powers that be" would let someone like J Prince cut them out / join their ranks?
Hell to the naw they wouldnt have.Dude do you understand how powerful that would have been.?I think it was suppose to be done in secret, suprise. But once they found out they shut that shit down and trumped up all kind of charges against Irv Gotti.and i think they tried to bring up past shit against James Prince.

That's because Jay got smoked by those southern boys... and I fucks wit Jay, when I'm in a Jay music mood. I wish I could get in Pat's ear... I'd be like do a vs against Jay... when he plays girls girls girls.... hittem wit chicken head.
I can see it now.
jay z vz project pat:roflmao:

They ain’t got shit to worry about. The south east and west can never get on one accord to do it.
Maybe the east and atl

Rappers who say that are truly jealous of his success

Jay z been on top for a long ass min

Not as famous rappers seeing their hopes. And dreams die a little everyday..

Them three six mafia kniggas was doing

Their 3 6 mafia shit

But they ain't get to that spirit cooking level yet...

Nasty ass kniggas...

This “we didn’t fuck with jay in the south story” is laughable to me. I understand that maybe the man wasn’t everyone’s favorite but He has toured the country including the south like no other rapper EVER. I know for a fact that his tours have gone thru Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Greensboro, Nashville, Orlando, and I’m probably missing some cities. This dude has literally sold more concert tix and done bigger shows in the south than any of these illiterate mumble mouth niggaz could ever dream of. Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t… FOH.

Dat screw shit...bang...when I'm on zaZA..and wax....Juicy J is one of the best producers of all time... brah
DJ Paul, Juicy J and DJ Squeeky are legendary producers and ahead of their time. Jazze Pha went mainstream and wasn’t even close to their level.

Project Pat is above Jay-Z’s level lyrically, and actually did the shit he rapped about.

The east coast bias is real, Jay-Z is an actor playing a rapper

Yeah but Big Pimpin did get cats hip to Jay....then he did songs with Scarface....

But yeah I saw first hand in ATL and Houston when Big Pimpin came out.....mfkrs knew every word of Bun and Pimp's verses.....and just kind of bobbed their heads to Jay ......
Big Pimpin got cats hip to Jay? LOL!!! That’s the most ridiculous shit I’ve heard in a while. Big Pimpin was clearly the biggest song UGK had been a part of. He put them dudes on a level they had never seen before. He may have gained a few new fans but they gained far more. That shit changed the trajectory of their careers.

Allow me to clarify.

Jay-Z, by the time he was doing big tours in the south, had become a pop artist. But the Hoods of the south weren't fuckin with Jay like that. He was acknowledged, but not favored.

Back then, Master P & No Limit, Cash Money, Luda, Lil Flip, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Three Six, Twista, Trick Daddy, Nelly, David Banner, UGK, 5th Ward Boyz, Tela, all ruled the southern airwaves. Jay-Z was famous, but the South had their own heroes by the time Jay really made it big.

Mfkrs in the south wasn't checking for Jay then.... I saw it firsthand and mfkrs in here have said it as well.....

And not for nothing, unpopular opinion, Sippin on Some Syrup was a better collab than Big Pimpin for UGK

NY cats get pissed when others tell y'all that your choices are not recognized everywhere. Y'all are some hip-hop narcissists. Yes, we all know hip-hop was born in NY and we are not fighting you on that but NY don't dictate the tastes of other regions. Its not hate, its just a different choice. The South had a different vibe than NY. NY has rappers that are only popular in NY and y'all be pissed when somebody don't know those kniggas. The South got their own kniggas and the music was definitely different. Jay made it mainstream but the clubs reflected what was hot in the streets back then and it wasn't Jay. Jay was known but he didn't rule.
You don't have to like it, but you need to know its true. The west coast wasn't feelin' Jay like that either. Take your medicine. Jay is a NY hero. That's cool. Be happy with that. He's made some impressive business moves but his music didn't rule the South or the West coast. FACTS.

Voice is very importsnt to me liking a rapper. And JayZ has an unbearable, prepubescent quality to his voice I could never fock with.

To this day, I still havent checked a full Jayz album in its entirety. He aint wack, just not my taste. Same reason I dont fock with Kendrick Lamar, meanwhile ppl treat him like he the 2nd coming
damn i thought i was the only one feeling this way. Not a hater, just not a fan. Jay has had some banga's but no way is he the next anthing.

Folks get mad at other folks tastes and opinions. That shit is funny to me. I'm from the deep south, born and raised, and I was never the biggest No Limit fan. Mutherfuckers would look at me cross eyed when I told them that.

What have we here? Another thread where celebrity worshipers are mad because someone had an opinion.

8 Ball and MJG

I like them cats Bigly….
Dang...........Bruh...........Those dude's had done slipped my mind.Im glad you bought me back. Those cats were kind of cold lyrically and yes they had punch lines for that ass.Yes 8ball And MJG.Glad you bought them up ,i like to let them slip my mind discussing 36 Mafia and Project Pat.8ball and MJG are the true legends of Memphis rap and put Memphis on the map and really led the way for them. The Source magazine did give 8ball and MJG there props.I remember this one punch line from them that caught me and it goes like this......... in Memphis trying to be a rapper, but rapping dont mean shit to Elvis Presley loving crackas. They were right Memphis,TN was considered as a joke as far as hip hop goes, because nobody in the hip hop game knew shit about Memphis rap before them.

Or maybe, he just wasn't feeling Jay like that. It's fine. That won't or hasn't stopped me from liking Jay.

Y'all acting like it's a crime. It's not that serious.
Who you referring to here? We were speaking on people who don’t understand the complexity of Jay’s lyrical ability and choose to hate because THEY lack understanding.

This had nothing to do with Project Pat.

Gonna have to do some checking on this...if Jay snitched, that was some fuck shit
Go on to youtube and search for interviews regarding that.Streets cats talk about that shit til this day. What Irv Gotti,J Prince and Suge Knight had planned was monumental for not just hip hop but for entertainment period.

And that’s fine, however this was not what hip hop was about in the golden era. During that time, nobody cared what you looked like or what you sounded like, so long as you brought flames to a cypher.

Today’s market is different.

If looks and marketability were the staples during that era, we would’ve never had the likes of Jay, Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, etc

All would be deemed unmarketable because of their appearance and nasal sounding flow.

Thankfully quality of content was the priority which gave us the greatest era of hip hop ever produced.

Bruh, I was telling cats about those DJ Screw and Fuck Action tapes since '99......

damn I remember in '02 looking on Kazaa and Limewire for them...I got a couple of burned copies somewhere in my basement...but there is no duplicating that energy in H-town and riding around ATL in my Aunt's car and mfkrs pulling up next to me like "yo what is THAT?! That shit is hard!"

As a Houston south sider never associate DJ Screw with Fuck Action tapes . Thats that swisha house shit lol.

But Screw did drop some R& B based tapes. Late Nite Fucking Yo Bitch and Old School are the first that come to mind.

Im not calling Jay-Z wack, but I never really liked much of his music and its true back then the South was big on Jay-Z like that.

The biggest travesty is they let Timbaland make the beat for the UGK collab. I can only imagine what kind of beat and concept that Pimp C could have made. Shit I was never a big fan of big pimping.
