much respect to Prince on that one...
You and Prince can go eat a fuckin brick and share a Dildo ya Closet Homo Bitch.

much respect to Prince on that one...
No, what was ridiculous is that your response. Telling me why Prince didn't do it... I don't know who your source is, but know who mine is?
Prince.
In the damn video the man just damn posted.
Very funny. MJ himself should have never made that video. It became an instant punchline to a joke. Very lame. Prince was busy recording his masterpiece, Sign o' the Times, while MJ was starting his downward spiral with this Bad nonsense (the video was a weak attempt to remake "Beat it") and his subsequent recordings. Prince's output (including videos) post-1983 destroys MJ's in every way, shape and form.
Yeah. Nobody's heard of Prince. Too bad he couldn't be a star.
I won't remind you who wins.... who had more money as of last month, who can die without a ruined legacy, and how the "competition..." which only existed in the minds of mentally challenged obsessive idiots like yourself... was officially decided by simple capability to survive in the real world.
*Ignored*
Yep more Bull Shit Trailor Trash CAC Reasoning that no one other than worthless trailor trash racist CACs would take seriously.
i actually heard a rare interview that chris rock did with prince where Michael wanted prince to be in the "Bad" video and prince was like "he damn sure aint gonna sing that to me..lol."
prince is my favorite. *shrugs* ...*walks out*
Nah... Prince is just a little more practical than Mike was.
Prince realizes he's a little dude in women's clothes who occasionally wears assless pants. He gets it, knows he's an odd duck. Mike, on the other hand, was still arguing there was no problem being a grown man sleeping in a bed with children. Just couldn't get why someone thought that was wierd.
Prince saw it like this... at least this is how I understand it.... They are both fairly effeminate singers. The last thing Prince wanted was to put that "your butt is mine" line in the hands of people who were already eager to call both of them gay. That kind of thing, even as a joke, starts to eat into your marketability.
Hence "you not singing that to me, and I know I'm not singing that to you."
And I remember people using that "your butt is mine" joke repeatedly.
Huh???
Cause Prince is still alive. As soon as he dies, cats gonna be on here crying talking about they were always fans. Just like they did when MJ died a few weeks ago.
I was a fan of both of them growing up.
Michael put that 'olive branch' out there for Prince.
I think Price was intimidated by Michael.
There was no competition between them because Michael was a tidal wave while Prince was a bucket of sea water in comparison on their impact on the music industry at the time.
First MJ is about 6 inch taller than Prince.
Second, that clip is hecka old (note how dark Prince was before he had his second skin peal lightening treatment).
Finally, MJ is greater than Prince could ever be. MJ was making hits when Prince/Roger was still wearing his moms make-up!!!
Rick James > Prince
put on a rick, teena marie or mary jane girl album. dude was underrated
price went downhill after he fired jimmy jam and terry lewis. in my opinion
Nevertheless, Prince has had more ass than a toliet seat.
Always liked Prince over MJ from the time Bad came out, I think it was the Rock/ Soul fusion I didn't appreciate. But just off the weight of the longevity of MJ, he is the GOAT
I was thinking the same thing
Some of those pics with Prince are kinda disturbing still(just saying). MJ has a few himself, but not like Prince's.

Funny thing is I use to argue that the 80's had better dressing than the 70's to my dad. Looking back I was wrong
I always took that Prince/Rock segment as a comedy sketch and not CNN Larry King "fact" although I see why people do. I mean we are talking about the man who revolutionized music videos coming up with an idea of a showdown with Prince.
Would that have been REALLY fair? MC Hammer played RIGHT into it and ruined his career in the 90's when MJ took him out at the end of Black or White. He was on his mission for King of Popular music and Hammer selling all those records back then was the perfect opponent.
Prince can say that "butt is mine" thing NOW as a joke and diversion, but MJ in a dance off with Prince would not have helped Prince at all. I think it's just that simple. Prince understands the business and MJ knew he did too. I got no doubt MJ thought Prince stole some of his thunder with Purple Rain the movie over Thriller the mini movie, but that's just me. Prince saw through what he was trying to do. In 1984 in a newspaper during the Jacksons tour MJ was asked about Elvis and he stated what he was trying to do was different and eventually bigger through music videos.
On a side note, I think MJ was consciously trying to get more "street" after the Jacksons tour because it received some backlash for being to glittery with no substance to some critics. I mean we all can't forget:

MJ was secretly being Tupac and 50 Cent beefing with other artistsSeriously though Quincy in the latest Rolling Stones said MJ wanted to conquer all genres of music. He failed miserably at adapting to the rap change though even though some of that genre's biggest hits borrowed from him(that's another thread).
Rick James > Prince

I'll take Prince's "longevity" over MJ's. Prince has been putting out consistent (and diverse) product for 30 years. MJ's output (nevermind its quality) has been sporadic at best, and virtually non-existent over the last 18 years. There's no comparison in terms of musical artists. One is a serious, profoundly talented ROCK/R&B singer/songwriter/multi-intrumentalist/stage performer and the other is a lightweight pop icon, whose disturbing eccentricity ultimately dwarfed his talent.
Mj makes music for kids.
If you still think your a big fucking kid, yeah MJ rocks.
MJ dominated Hip Hop ! Recall his use of Biggie, and Teddy Riley, Dallas Austin, Puffy ect...
Of course you Dumb Fuck Michael Jackson Hating closet Racist CAC's will take up for Prince because he is half CAC.
MJ showed he was not in tune slowly, but surely when he never utilized ABC in Black or White imo. Then it followed up with Naughty By Nature in Jam not being used either. Of course, MJ probably did not like the lyrics NBN used for his Jackson 5 song. At the time those groups were hot as hell and he only used them for cameos. Heavy D is questionable.
Michael MAY have done some serious damage if he got Dr. Dre to work with him(why is Dre not ragged on for so few songs being done a la MJ and Dre is in hip hop which spurns out music at a rapid pace). Dre is said to not have worked with him because he knew it would be a headache with two perfectionists wanting things done their way. The same problem I'm sure Prince was probably thinking at the time.
Tupac actually had the right idea in trying to move up the chain with thinking of working with Quincy Jones in his last days. R and B and "urban" music was never the same once that east coast/west coast thing took over the music scene imo and both MJ and Prince fell victim to the times as well as all the greats such as Stevie Wonder(although his last effort incorporated some of today's new dance). MJ's problem was that he got a bit too weird for people to follow without having a second thought(happened around Bad imo with his makeover and hurt him since). The exact same thing with Prince imo. That 80's type aura and look was not going to get over in the "street" era of the 90's of baggy jeans and timb boots.
I also think Prince did not utilize hip hop when it was rising either in the 90's. There was a reason why rap and b took over with the likes of Puffy's vision with Jodeci and Biggie.
With that said to be fair HOW MANY artists can do so many generations and span success at the same level with the same impact? NO ONE I know.
Look how Prince came through the crowd, like a little bitch!
that Chris Rock interview was surreal...cause there you had Prince (TAFKAP at the time) sounding like a real regular down brother talking about some interesting shit...and then the camera pulls back and THIS motherfucker is sitting there in a lime green taffeta suit with matching heels.![]()
gay dudes are often hanging around women so just because a nigga got beautiful women around him...
MJJ and Prince are not hip hop or rap. That's not what they did or should do. MJJ has sold more units then all the rappers combined.
No rapper. I mean no rapper can move as many tickets globally like Prince, MJJ or Madonna. What rapper can do 50 shows in any city? Neither Jay Z or 50 could do 50 shows in NYC.
Prince, MJJ and Madonna are Pop royalty. They don't need to sell records.
Rap, as a money making strategy, has so distorted the perspective of young aspiring artists. They care about record sales. It is not about record sales.
Record companies sell records. Performers perform. Do you have any idea how much money Bon Jovi made in the last 12 months?
Prince, MJJ and Madonna never lost the ability to go out on the road and get paid.
Folks forget that Prince was waiting to the day of his shows to sell tickets for rent payments and he sold out each night.
Prince has been touring and doing shows for 30 years. He doesn't have to make a record companies and labels richer by selling units for them.
Top 10 highest-grossing tour of 2008 in North America according to Pollstar:
1. Madonna 2. Celine Dion 3. Eagles 4. Kenny Chesney 5. Bon Jovi 6. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band 7. Neil Diamond 8. Rascal Flatts 9. The Police 10. Tina Turner
Madonna made a 110 million and Celine Dion made 100 million. That's their cut of the money, not the concert gross. That's where the money is at. Unfortunately, rappers can't tour the world with a stage full of staggering dudes shouting nonsense as they talk over each other. Sure there is plenty money in rap but it ain't on the same level as pop music. MJJ and Prince were smart to stay in their lane. If Mary J doesn't need hip hop to sale then no one does.
