Not trying to cape up for the TP against haters but their are still developers who write programs and updates for the TP through the Homebrew community. So I'm sure with more 350,000 of them on the street right now, they will continue to post and upgrade apps with the incentive that a small percentage of that number actually donate to their cause.

There are a number of preware apps that they will optimize for the TP as well....

youre doing alot of hoping huh?

The TouchPad flew off the shelves. $99 ($49 at Staples) is bargain basement cheap, but these companies are shooting themselves in the foot with the $499 and above price point. I think the rush on TouchPads last week and this weekend is proof that people would cop these at a more reasonable price point.

Will the Touchpad run Netflix?

Not yet....

(Copy and pasted from another forum.)

The TouhcPad does not have Netflix; there are issues with DRM (which Android and iOS have been able to overcome) and you can't watch it in the browser because it uses Microsoft Silverlight which is not baked into any mobile platform except Windows Phone 7 (no surprise there).

Hopefully HP will get the DRM problem worked out or someone can develop a silverlight plug-in for the browser. Until then, there is no direct access to Netflix. But there are other streaming services available through the web or through apps which allow you to stream video content (both paid and free).

For me that's a very good starting line-up...I was never app crazy...only app I really paid for on the iPad was Comiczeal...but ya a comic app weather app...sports app and translator is all I need...oh ya an ereader app as well...some ppl are spoiled on apps tho

I heard 90.

$100 - insane deal yes....

Zero more platform development... WYSIWYG = Touchpad

:smh:
I believe it launched with over 300 TP specific apps... and the webOS homebrew community provides a number of patches, apps.... Hp is still providing some support for the OS, but not the hardware.

Wishing I would of caught that 50 dollar sale. Im tight.

If it has Flash, why in the hell do I need a million apps, hell even a thousand apps? But I guess it's for people that actually take it out of the house to go shopping or traveling, so that is understandable. Glad I just want it for surfing the web, while being lazy on the sofa!

Ya I'm familiar w/ Accuweather from the iPad...I just peeped Switcharoo Lite...I'm assuming I can get the full version for free of that webOS link...I too tired now but I really need to get down w/ Preware and stop bullshitting

I've already got mine running 1.9 Ghz, that over clocking, got it sped up. Some the apps are horrible on there and the video players so far are buggy as hell. Still fucking with it though (and I'm writing this on my IPad)

Ya in the end I hope devs pay some interest to this thing given the hype...

Well, I'm a tech geek so the curiosity got me. But the thing doesn't do much outside of web surfing the apps are meh....I'd be mad if it was my only device (with the lack of good apps) Some say they'd give it for a gift, I don't even think it makes a good gift.
