Post a movie that didn't get a lot of fanfare but is a classic...

1 of the better thrillers in the 2000s that you definitely wouldn't figure out while watching majority of the movie... You think it's 1 thing and bam they totally flip the script... Than the ending yessss

I liked this film the first few times I watched it. Afterwards is lost it’s thrill.

Eve's Bayou

Leaving Las Vegas...(not for the faint of heart)

Requiem for a Dream <----- those other folks need to see this :smh:

The one

Butterfly Effect (the director's cut)

Apt Pupil (marching scene is ill as fuck)

City of God

Falling Down

Sonatine (gangsta ass japanese movie)

Thank you for not smoking (movie about lobbyists)

Watched Leaving Las Vegas because it was similar to Barfly w/Mickey Rourke .....

I hated Tuskegee Airmen movie! I didn't think the story needed the love story...unless there was a compelling one from one of the real Airmen..also wasn't a fan of Cuba's portrayal of a Macarthur-like officer.

I think you might be getting this one confused with Red Tails. If so i agree, Red Tails was kinda wack. I did like the Tuskegee Airmen (HBO movie) though.

Also, "Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels" was my joint.
^^^That shit is in my top 5 all time.

You ain't lying. I don't know how I got around to trying out Lock stock and two smoking barrels, but once I did, I loved it

The way multiple stories tie into one.

Snatch was another one of my favorites by the same director. I saw it at the library so I said what the hell. Loved it.

I told my brother to watch it, but he didn't and it had to go back to the library so I grabbed the case and took it back to the library. What I didn't know is that I left it in the DVD player. My brother saw it that night when I was at work and fell in love with it too.

Soul of the game was the story of Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson, 3 negro League legends.

Even though Delroy lindo wasn't skinny enough to play Satchel Paige, he pulled it off with the swag.

At one point, Satchel Paige was late for a game because of a flat tire or something. When he showed up to the game late maybe into the third inning he told the manager to put them in because some major league scouts were there.

Satchel Paige: "Put me in."

Manager: "But you haven't warmed up."

Satchel Paige: "I ain't never cooled off"

It was a TV movie, on HBO during Black History Month, but it was still a very good movie

The Program and The Thing are a couple of favs. Even though it is a cult classic now Clerks would be mine. Then all of the connected movies afterwards. Never knew that Kevin Smith looked up to Spike Lee and that Do The Right Thing inspired this movie to be all in one day.

It was I time I thought Kevin Smith Could do no wrong. I still Quote Clerks to this day.

Half baked... It was only in theatres for like 3 weeks b4 being pulled... I'm 1 of the few that actually saw it in the theatres

Strange days

Mr Brooks ... 1 of Kevin Costner better movies...they need to make the two sequels that were supposed to follow

MR. Brooks has to be in my top three!!

I really liked "The Program". Also, "Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels" was my joint.

I love anything Guy Ritche and Edger wright makes!!

Prob the best action movie or 1 of the best in 2010s decade

The Raid 1 and two ruined fight sequences for me ever since. Nothing else compares. Anytime some one fights on screen now I get bored and start checking my phone.

movie was dope.. when diggs was cool pre faggot days..

Equilibrium is probably one of the greatest slept on movies ever made!!!

Lucky number Slven gets better every time I see it. My favorite scene is when he 1st meets Morgan Freeman.

man there's some CLASSICS posted in this thread..loved clerks..Kevin Smith and everything thing after it in the 90s

here's some of mine

If Spike never made X, Mo Better Blues would arguably be his best film to me.

People slept on hard candy. The movie had me uneasy for its last half.

City Of God is def a cult classic!!!

It was cheesy but I don't know anybody that can say they really hated it... For a b movie it sticks in your head...

I actually started writing a script for a reeboot for this. But abandond it.

Frailty is in My top 10.

Robert Townsend was a genius for this. He produced the whole film on credit cards. This is badly needed as an updated sequel. They could address the black man in a dress, interracial love interests over black love in lead characters, and address lack of black movies that focus in mythological/magic epics, horror, sci-fi, futurism, other wordly, etc.

Lol I remember my older cousin had free tix to see whatever movie and I convinced him and his crew for us to go see this... None of them was disappointed...they laughed they as s at Chris tucker, they thought Gary oldman was that dude, and they all was like wtf when the broad shot the light from her mouth to save earth.. Still 1 of my personal faves

I liked this film the first few times I watched it. Afterwards is lost it’s thrill.

now see THAT to me is another category..

Do movies like Usual Suspects, 6th Sense, Identity, etc..

Hold up once the twist is revealed and a few repeat viewings?

I think Memento would be maybe the BEST in this category.

By the way I know it's not a movie but a spin-off series because a movie the most slept on series there is cobra kai... First series I watched since oz and I love every min of it... 3rd season has been greenlit let's go hawk... As 1 of my boys tells me I'm a bad guy sympathizer... I'm starting to think he's right

I RAISE you the Prestige..

Lol mine got Edward Norton and Paul Geomonti, You got batman and wolverine.

Just kidding, but real talk what I liked about the illusionist is that is grounded in reality, although it appears supernatural there is always an explanation that can ruin the magic. As with the prestige the ending kinda goes off the rails.
