Why does the design matter?.. A polished turd is still a turd at the end of the day..
Thinking about buying a PS3 this weekend. Should I just wait for 4 or just cop now???? the bundle im looking at has a year of PlayStation Plus and comes with Assassins Creed 3. yay or nay?
That is 8gb shared memory, so that will be used for the system and the graphics. Being pooled offers more flexibility and less latency, but it's not really exceeding common gaming PC's in total memory. From what I have heard 1-2gb is going to be reserved for the OS.
I am fairly happy with their tech decisions though, using almost off the self PC GPU and standard x86 cores might mean more good games on PC.
Graphics specs on ps4:
8gb of gddr5= twice the ram of most pc gpu's at about 4 times the speed.
The top of the line pc graphics card you can get right now is $1000 and is about 25% LESS powerful than what the PS4 is bringing.
That being said, graphic capability isn't going to be the issue. I would be more concerned with how detailed the graphics are going to be on the game developers' end.

My biggest concern is the fact that games will release on the PS3 and PS4 at the same time. I need to know what will make the next gen games more spectacular than what we have now. Graphics alone won't cut it right now because current gen still looks great.
bruh after about 6 months...they will stop releasing games for the PS3....

the ps4 is going to be the same shit but in hd. They might release some ps3 games the same time but that will be only to sucker in people for some last minute sales before they release the good ps4 exclusive gamesMy biggest concern is the fact that games will release on the PS3 and PS4 at the same time. If no more than 2 gb is reserved for the OS, then that would give the ps4 the exact same graphics power as the current top of the line pc gpu.
I was never really concerned with the graphics capabilities of the ps4 or even the ps3 for that matter. Despite everyone's thirst for more realistic looking games, you have to remember a few things:
1. Historically, console programmers usually max out the cpu and system ram before ever reaching the full limit of the gpu.
2. It's been estimated that 5,000 teraflops is required to make a game look "real". (ps4 doesn't even have 2 teraflops)
3. It doesn't matter what the hardware specs are, you can only get out what the developers put in.
Fuck all da arguing niggas in here are doin', when it drops, I'll get da shit w/o thinking twice or no regrets as I have since da first Playstation.

I know...and by now you all should know better...than to run out and buy shit like this on day 1. I don't buy anything hardware or OS on release. it's just not smart. 6 months down the road when they get all the bugs worked out then we can talk about buying. I don't need a be one of the first to "get it" anymore. Getting burned by a status symbol...fuck that!
All this talk about graphics and the best selling console the wii had the worst graphics of all...takes more then graphics to make people spend their money
WTF do you expect to see different? Sports games like Madden won't improve even on next gen because they don't have to. EA already knows the usual fanboy is just gonna buy it based on namebrand alone.
I like the new design controller. Definitely want to see the console. So far graphics looks like a decent built PC built. But consoles ain't fucking with PCs.
But it had a gimmick.. And a HUGE catalog of classic First Party titles you can't get anywhere else.. Very poor comparison..
Graphics are the selling point for Hardcore consoles.. That's never been the case for Nintendo, and it's "casual" approach to gaming..
wasn't just a gimmick it was innovation and good marketing. ....nintendo went after the crowd that doesnt just hack the console and play pirated games....like yourself
console gamers dont expect $2000 gaming pc graphics on a $300 console cuz its common sense thats not what you're going to get.....
and look wise the first games to come out on a next gen console are never a huge leap from the last console. ..I wasn't blown away going from ps to ps2 or ps2 to ps3....its the games that came later that showed what the system could do
It was a gimmick... Just like their new tablet controller is a gimmick.. The only reason Nintendo is still around is because of their first party IP's, and anyone with half a brain knows it..
Nintendo didn't go after the hack market?.. The Wii was by far the easiest to hack and play backups on. All you needed was a USB key.. My grandmother could hack a Wii..
And there is always a noticeable leap between consoles. The jump from PSOne to PS2 wowed me, the jump from SNES to N64 wowed me. If technology hasn't advanced enough that they can push out 2007 PC graphics (cheaply), they should wait a few years. That's all I'm saying.

Nintendo had 1st party "classics" with the GamecubeDoesnt seem to be helping the Wii U
Wii had the top spot with a low spec console cuz it was innovative..
You're talking about technology and graphics when Sony hasnt even really shown anything
like i said you were going to be negative whatever they came out with....hell why dont you just buy a gaming computer![]()
It's not helping the Wii-U because they haven't dropped any of their Big IP games yet, dumb shit.. Zelda hasn't dropped, Mario hasn't dropped, Metroid hasn't dropped, etc..
Wii had the top spot with a low spec console because they have great first party exclusives, they appeal to the casual gamer, and the console was cheap compared to the other 2 on the market.
If "Mario Wii-U" or "Zelda Wii-U" drops the same day as PS4 and they bundle it with the console, the Wii-U will outsell the PS4.
You're not making a point homes.. There isn't shit innovative about what they've announced for the PS4, and the horsepower is only getting a minor upgrade. There is no reason for me to go out and get a PS4 to play NBA 2K14, GTA5, or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 this Christmas... My PS3 can handle it just fine.
