Man, I just got tired of the the dumb shit and used Stock X and paid 250 over the retail but at least I don't have to be bothered with the way the brick and mortar shops are selling these things online.

What are those with a external drives using? SSD or HD? Can you play PS5 games off the external yet? Is the speed of a SSD really worth It? I could get a 5TB HD for the cost of a 1TB SSD.
You'll never be able to play PS5 games of external drives. They can't generate the bandwidth needed to play the games properly.
Since you can't play PS5 games off of it, I just use a HDD and move games to the external that I'm not currently playing. Most PS4 games I leave on the external except my favorites, which I put on the internal drive. Shit is a pain and I hope they figure out the drive slot soon.

get a regular 4/5tb external portable drive, not ssd
you can keep and play ps4 games from the external drive
for ps5 games you can move them from internal drive to external if you need more free space in internal drive , you can't play ps5 games from external drive , so just move them back if you want to play the ps5 game

Saw bunch of YouTube videos on the M.2 SSD expansion for the ps5. Those MVMe SSD's are costly a 2TB goes for around 400 a 4TB is like 900 and you still may need to buy a heatsink for It.
thats why you should get a regular 5tb portable drive $100 and keep the ps5 games you not currently playing there
