Props bruh- saw this review on there though
Do you have a touchstone?
Props on the price. Cant get much better than that.
it might not work because the touchstone has a microusb port that is set deep- but at 4bucks no big loss wordNaw... I dont have a touchstone yet.....I dont see why it wouldnt work on the touchstone. The pins are right. Maybe the reviewer is an idiot.....Ill find out when I get it. But either way...the cords are 99 cents and shipping is like 3 bucks....not breaking the bank at all.

Palm has just announced that the Mojo SDK for developing for the webOS and Palm Pre is now available to all! You can now officially (instead of on-the-sly) get the SDK and Palm Pre emulator for yourself and start coding up apps! Palm will begin taking app submissions in the fall, so get going.
How easy is coding for webOS? Dead easy. So easy that you, yes you reading this right now, could do it. Ken M went from very basic HTML experience to nearly having an Exchange Calculator app ready in a matter of months. If you already know HTML and Javascript, you know how to code for webOS.
If you're looking for more help, our webOS Developer forum is chock full of helpful people. Looking to get your app out into the world before the Fall? Check out our Homebrew forum, where SirataXero can get you started with a great Hello World type app.
What are you waiting for? Go get the SDK and start playing!
Welcome to the Pre clan & look forward to any apps you create.I'm downloading it now. I'm gonna try and write up something. I have a few ideas.
I'm gonna get a pre fuck it ...the device is the real deal. WebOS's potential is unlimited
In all honesty I will probably wirte up an iphone app 1st (quicker turn aroind on the cash flow) and then make an app for WebOS

http://www.precentral.net/verizon-planning-own-application-store-manufacturers-not-invited![]()
Verizon may want the Pre (or a device like it) on their network, but apparently the App Catalog is not in the cards. As reported at GigaOM, Ryan Hughes, VP of Partner Management at Verizon Wireless, said that Verizon is developing its own application store that will be the only application store pre-loaded on Verizon network devices.
Of course, that’s not going to please manufacturers and probably not developers either. But Verizon’s going to try nonetheless, with plans to hold a developer recruiting event on July 28. With BlackBerry, Palm, Android, and Apple (whom, let's face it, Verizon wants) all having their own working application stores up and running, and Windows Mobile’s right around the corner, Verizon’s not only late to the game, but pushing their luck with their partners. Verizon may be the biggest cellular provider in the United States, but there’s only so much push that manufacturers and developers will take before they start to push back. Verizon’s already infamous for locking down their handsets, and kicking off manufacturer app stores may very well be a step too far.
There is a bonus that many subscribers will prefer, however: the apps in Verizon’s store can be tied to their account. And that’s not just billing, Verizon-specific APIs will be available for developers to take advantage of capabilities like location-based services. Of course, those are features that are easily available in all those other application stores, Palm’s App Catalog and Mojo SDK included.
Verizon is aiming to launch their application store by the end of this year. Verizon has historically shunned developers, especially smartphone developers, with the end goal of maintaining the stability of their network. It’s a great network, but it seems that it comes with strings.

Are you on iTunes 8.2.1 and wish it can once again sync seamlessly with your Palm Pre? You can always just revert back to iTunes 8.2.0 or go classic and use Drag & Drop. And of course doubleTwist is another good option to have iTunes start syncing again. But you know what's better? That would be Salling Media Sync, my friends.
Available for free now for Mac and Windows. First off, It does not require an account like doubleTwist. It syncs your Music/Playlists, Videos, Podcasts and Photos from iTunes 8.2.1. And best of all, you can set it to sync automatically every time you plug in your Pre, just like iTunes would.
They do offer a paid version of this software for $22, which will sync your media at a faster rate (Mac and PC). I was giving taste of the paid version free of charge (Thanks, Salling), and like advertised, nothing has change but the syncing speed. Roughly about 4-7x faster.
To Sync using Salling Media Sync:
1. Download it for free now. Mac or Windows
2. Run it.
3. Plug your Pre to the Computer and go to 'USB Drive' mode.
4. Salling sync Utility will pop and you can now Sync away.
i am elgible 8/15/09
i called last month and they was acting like a bitch and told me to wait until the 15th to get it for that price. are there any battery extenders like the one for Iphone and have they upgraded the firmware so you can record video yet?
also i was reading that it doesn have gaming capability like the 3d version games on iphone. i have seen some nice games on iphone and my patna was like the pre's processor cant handle the graphics like the iphone. that will suck if true because i have seen some tight ass games on the iphone and would like to see similiar on pre
I'm going to keep it real, the Palm Pre is NOT an Iphone replacement or alternative. If you have that mindset you will be disappointed with the Pre.
please explain
for version "1" of this phone, it competes or surpasses the version "3" iphone in every aspect
the iphone simply has an app store thats crazy(even tho most of those apps are junk or games)
Just saying that if you are wanting games "like" the Iphone, the palm pre by its design (self explanatory) will not give you the SAME experience.
All I was pointing out is that the Iphone and Pre has their own strengths. But if you had a Pre and there was a "hack" to make the Iphone multitask, you are going to be disappointed because the Pre does it SO WELL.
You see where I'm going with this?
No.......
This is not a comparison thread. Its for people to drop their knowledge on the Pre.
If you want to talk about gaming on the Pre stick to that. Don't bring other phones into it.
