Don't waste your time with the Treo Pro because Windows Mobile will end up pissing you off. It gives a few ooohs & ahhhs at first but it will be followed imediately by GATDAMMITs & UGGHHHs. A lot of us who have Pres now had WM prior & don't regret the change.
Oh & you'll have to get the data plan no matter what. No way you get a phone like that & not have any network data usage.
Finally got my second palm microusb cord from J&R music world on buy.com for $9 - palm's store and sprint's site dont even have these and other spots wanted 15-20 bucks for it
there doesnt seem to be a way to organize contacts by name or business name etc - a company name with 2 words will be listed under the second word as if it is a person's name

I'm sorry... Is the cord just a way to move data on and off of the pre? Is there no cord that comes with it?
for some reason when you search for it on buy.com now it shows up as being more expensive and from other vendors

The cord is how the wall charger connects to the Pre and Touchstone. It is also how you charge the unit and connect it via USB. The problem is when you have a touchstone its a pain in the ass to unplug the touchstone from the wall just to sync the Pre to the computer. So, I just bought another cable so I can sync without all that hassle. Problem is Sprint stores dont have the cables, or at least they didnt.

The N97 is running WM isn't it. If so then that's the problem. A lot of these phones would be so much better if WM was better but instead it takes away from the hardware in the phone w/ a bloated OS that sucks up memory & is further behind the competition than ever before.
For me it was the other way around. Went from Palm to Windows Mobile.
Windows Mobile is pretty powerful, nowhere near as intuitive as Palm. But I got the feeling Palm was in its last days
The Pre isn't running Palm OS though so you can't compare the old Palm devices to this one. WebOS runs circles around both WM & PalmOS. WebOS is just what Palm needed to stay relevent. Trust me on that one.

I've had the Pre for about a month now and I f n luv tha joint yung. I'm still learning new shit eryday and wants we get new apps its really gonna be off the chain jo.
Oh the Symbian OS hasn't been getting rave reviews overall either. I don't know of many people who are making apps for that OS let alone runnnig it. Nokia fucked up by making that an exclusive OS. The Pre looks like it's on the verge of getting more support than Android from a corporate app manufacturer standpoint like the Iphone has & don't even get us started on the homebrew creators.

wait until at&t and apple cripple/deny the google voice app from coming out on the iphone since you can send sms messages for free from it
Even if they do, there's supposedly an app that does similar on Itunes according to the thread about Google Voice. I really don't see the big deal about that app anyways.
at&t will kill that shit off
if you have sprint and your data plan has unlimited text messaging its not a big deal
