It is hard to be supportive of people who gloat like this.
The truth of the matter is that they almost lost to a team
of French scrubs. They hang on for dear life to win by a
measley 3 points. Yes, the US played stupid basketball,
and in particular, I was furior at Holiday just jacking up
futile 3 after 3.
Basically, France played 1990s basketball againt the new
NBA 1990s new age 3-point bullshit. It almost cost the
US the gold medal.
I am glad the US won, but these guys need to shut the
fuck up.
With that being said, you have to give credit to all the
people who volunteered for the team. I am sorry, but
someone has explain to me why people, like Steph Curry,
who get paid more than $40 million a year, refused to
help the country win the gold medal.
Holday and Mills finished winning the NBA title one day,
and showed up for national duty the next day. Kevin
Durant has been injured most of the season, and yet he
showed courage and patriotism by suiting up for the
nation, in a tournament he had won 2x before.
We can excuse LeBron, AD and others because they were
injured, but where were the big American guys? The US
was soft in the paint because they were undersized? Was
this because of bad team selection or lack of patriotism
by those who should have been there to contest Gobert
and Fall???
