in ny.
these cats are in the south making the same type $ with more time off.
lol thats like doing $215k or some shit in ny.
Schlumberger, Halliburton, M I Swaco and them Fugro survey fucks don't do shit all day!!
people say that rov is lazy, but we at least do a few hours of maintenance everyday. Some of these survey and tooling fuckers expect us to install their shit for them.
Every fucking time I'm flying to a target, I have to remind the lazy fucks to turn on my tracking cause they are on the bridge watching a damn movie.![]()
Can any of you cats in the field give me some info on opportunities in Houston? i may be moving there in a few months and looking to try something new. I have over ten years of executive management experience but none in Energy.
Any shot?
i left early to check out some schools in Texas. Coworker of mine was telling me about his old fracking job and got to showing me old check stubs and i just shook my head. Geezus if I'd have known about this in my youth..This shit been on my mind so tough today I almost told the boss to kiss my ass today.i left early to check out some schools in Texas. I am at that point with my job, I feel like I am wasting time and talent. Shit I need a career, I'm getting too old for this bullshit.![]()
True
I could easily buy bump that 6k an extra 3grand if I worked on my days off but who wants to work 7days a week 12 to 16 hrs a day? Not me
Funny shit is there are mofos where I work who do that shit ninjas literally live here... I can't do it
Exactly. I KNOW I'm built for better than this but I just have never been able to get my foot in the right door. For that matter I've never known where that door even was. And time is ticking. I'm wasting myself.

Yeah most of the schools are in the South for us dumb Bama's. When I got my process degree I paid less than 2,400 for it. My 1st pay check could of paid for my degree.
a day in the life of an operator

how do you get one of these jobs?
Thanks...good info...I'm not tryna even front like I can do the heavy duty stuff...but if I can get something in a similar capacity to the dude in the vid...I have to see what the pay is for that position tho...2 years and $2400 is nothing even if it's just to have something in my pocket I can use later on @ the very least...I have to look @ the local colleges tho and see what they have or maybe see if those schools down by y'all offer online courses

Online program right here. Says classes start every few weeks.
Wait you wear a suit and tie with 10 years of executive experience but want to switch to manual labor? What are you going to do when You get dirty ? Nothing against you personally but these jobs are a long way away from your working conditions.
Naw man, I meant in Management in the oil industry. Your right, i ain't cut out for manual labor. Don't get me wrong, If I had to do it I'd roll my sleeves up but its not that kinda situation.moblack and LS, any thoughts on this?I've been trying to get into being an Operator since last summer. Passed the Exxon operator exam and it's been over a year with no call back yet. Passed Lyondell test for Operator as well. They called for an interview but didn't get in on that either.
All these oil jobs in Houston seem to be about who you know. My so called "friends" had tried to look out as far as getting me in, but nothing so far.
Exxon is supposed to be the toughest aptitude type test. Like 1200 people test and they hire only 30.
I've applied to tons of companies for operator jobs, none has ever hit me back for an interview or nothing yet.
I've been recently studying to get my PMP cause I have IT experience that qualifies me to take the exam, other than that, if lotto aint knocking on my door, then I gotta stick to my freelancing hustle, sucks in these times.
Now before I give this info to my cousin,he already has a degree but from what I am reading so far the Process Tech takes 2 years to complete or can he get a certificate with his BS.
Also, he informed me he qualifies for some Texas Workforce grant that will pay for his new training.
to me going back and getting an Associates in Process Tech is kind of going backwards..hell he already has a BS why go backwards?
