OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose, CA

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

i believe febricio faked being hurt and fell into his guard just to sub him like that
i think thats why he called it perfectly

You may have a point. That's why Fedor was so aggressive. If he did that, that's smart as hell...

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

very feasible cause he was barely tagged. I'm not shocked by the upset. I was shocked by how overly aggresive Fedor was.

He acted like a virgin on prom night.
fedor is always like that once someone is hurt but leaving his arm between Werdum's legs was pretty stupid. The first mental mistake he paid for in about 10yrs. That's damn good. I bet he won't jump in that mufucka's guard next time around

so overeem is gonna start talkin big shit about Werdum now especially since he already lost to him  should be funny

i think shane carwin has a good shot at beating brock - brock aint gonna manhandle him like Mir

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

Fedor should have signed with the UFC when he had the chance.

Everybody loses but when you do it's best to do it against top comp. in the top org.

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

Febricou acting like he just won the lotto. He know he got lucky. By lucky he took advantage of a great oppurunity and was prepared.
Lucky? How did he get lucky by choking him out with a triangle in the first minute, EXACTLY as he said he would BEFORE the fight? Has it occurred to you that he faked being in danger to lure Fedor into a submission trap? Give credit where it's due. He didn't take advantage of an opportunity. He created an opportunity and exploited it.

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

I've watched this sport 5 times in my life. 2 of the 5 times I've seen huge upsets. This sport will never be boxing. LoL

i swear these brazilian dudes with years in the game are analyzing these unbeaten dudes and comin up with the right game plan to beat em
nobody was really respecting dude's BJJ when he is an abu dhabi champ - just like shogun and machida. Anyone can lose or be hurt and fight shitty and get back in shape and be champion material again. I love MMA man. There are so many talented fighters in all these leagues that kats can surprise you. Look at Cung last time gettin KOd by Smith. That shit was crazy. But he came back and showed it was only a conditioning thing.

You're a well known moron and your observation is pointless/worthless. STFU and go babble elsewhere.

The possiblity of upsets always exists due to the various ways you can lose which is what makes it exciting...unless you just find it fun to watch a guy get dominated for twelve rounds.

the second part of comment was that he took advantage of a great oppurunity and was prepared. But Fedor wasnt so damn aggressive who knows how this fight would have ended up.

I didnt mean to take anything away from Febrciou but Fedor fucked up and got caught.

If he really set up that was a great strategy but I was really disappointed by how Fedor jumped the gun.

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

First Machida now Fedor...who's next? Two upsets in a few months short time. Please don't tell me that Anderson is gonna get beat by that lame...what's his name? Fabricio now have to carry all of this weight of the man who beat the supposed greatest MMA fighter in the world then run into somebody greater who will end up KTFO.

Yea man somethings up....First BJ Penn loses his belt, then Machida loses his and his undefeated record, then Rampage takes an "L", now Fedor loses his undefeated record!! All in the same year!!!

Something is definitely up....

Rampage and BJ been taking L's. Machida's style had faults just like Fedor's did. No one exploited their faults until now. Both guys who beat those two unbeatens are world champion martial artists. What is up is no one is perfect - even if their record is.

The Brazilians are going to rule MMA, they are extremely tough as well as highly skilled.

OK. I'm going to tell a lie about you which I did a lil research on. You are a well to do gentlemen with a gorgeous woman at your side. :) Don't make me ether you. Please don't.

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

Machida vs shogun was NOT an upset.
Fedor losing to werdum in such a stupid way... that was an upset.:smh: Jump into a world champion's guard fedor. Jump into the guard of someone who almost subbed Noguera. great fucking idea!

I think you need dominate figures in sports to build your sport. Basically I saw a dominate guy in the ring who got beat by a one trick pony. In my opinion that's not good for the sport.

BJ came in unprepared (as usual)
Rampage past his prime.
Machida was just waiting to be exposed.

MMA has reached a point where it's going to be hard for anybody to reign for very long.

Yep. I was just watchin' it w/my pops & to be honest, I knew nothin' about da guy (I'm OT right now & it isn't often that I get to catch good MMA fights seein' as how I only got regular cable). Pops told me that he hasn't been beat in over ten years so I'm thinkin' "Shawty finna go in". A few seconds in & he loses da fight to a fuckin' armbar. TEN FUCKIN' YEARS OF YEARS OF VICTORY ONLY TO LOSE BY A FUCKIN' ARMBAR!!! I know he feelin' real fucked up right about now b/c da look on his face indicated that he didn't appreciate that shit at all. :smh:

Dominate does not mean undefeated.

A.Silva, GSP, and Brock have all lost and remain very popular fighters who help fuel the sport...hell Brock lost his first fight in very similar fashion to Fedor yet his return next week will probably be the UFC's biggest PPV this year.

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

All I can say is look at his fight with Brett Rodgers. I would say that mabey Fedor's fight with Rodgers had already reached his peak as a dominant fighter. That would mean that Werdum was the kind of dangerous fighter (Brazillian Ju-Jutsu) that someone like Fedor could be beat. You would hope he would rebound from this fight, but he won't be the same (as invincible).:smh:

"The one who deosn't fall, doesn't stand up"? The fuck is he talkin' about? Werdum shook up the world, b!!!!!!!!!!

It's a philosophical saying of having the courage to rise from defeat. I would love to see a remtach.

In boxing, everyone has a puncher's chance. In MMA, only the truly skilled have a submission chance, though you don't catch someone in a sub.

I wrote about it here here b4 (shameless plug):

Fortunately/Unfortunately MMA has gotten to the point especially in the UFC where anybody can be beat at any given time champion or not. Invincibility is a thing of the past. Train hard and watch your back.:smh:

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

Betting Odds

Fedor Emelianenko -700

Fabricio Werdum +400

Yeah, but since Fedor lost he will now be seen as vulnerable.

Beat by a one trick pony? No disrespect, fam, but you don't seem to know a thing about MMA. A world champion BJJ fighter calls the fight time and stoppage BEFORE the fight, executes perfectly to plan and you call him a one trick pony? :smh:

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

Just keep in mind that is the same Werdum that Junior Dos Santos left bleeding and stunned in the ring in the 1st round.:smh:

You're sort of right. If you saw his loss against Arlovski and De Los Santos, you can see why his only method of victory against Fedor was a submission.

He was slapping Arlovski.

UFC let him go for that reason.

Dude, how do you characterize an entire fighting style as 'one trick'? :hmm: How many MMA fighters master ALL aspects of the sport. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. But that doesn't make them one trick ponies unless they literally have one trick. Like a fighter who waits for their one punch to come along. BJJ requires much more than waiting for or setting up one move. Werdum won this fight using HIS fighting style. What's wrong with that? :dunno:

Re: OFFICIAL - STRIKEFORCE - Fedor Vs. Werdum - Saturday, June 26th, 2010 - San Jose,

Wow Fedor lost ?!?! ? considering his win streak , I doubt this will hurt his legacy has a fighter .... dudes must realize anybody can lose ...nobody is invincible

Dos Santos didn't play into Werdum's strengths which is his BJJ

I'm new and naive to the sport. I'm basically going by what is see, Fedor's speech at the end of the fight not giving credit to the winner and Werdum's speech at the end of the fight not giving himself credit and still claiming Fedor as the greatest. Seems like Werdum was shocked when he won and not expecting to win.

Dude, b/c BJJ, though there sre msny different holds/subs which take years to master, is ONE discipline in MMA.

No MMA fighter masters AlL aspects or even half. This is Fabricio's base (BJJ). Nog was all BJJ but he could also take a pounding in his prime and deliver it as well. Fabricio never had that in his aresenal.

But none of it matters. He beat Fedor and that is amazing. Now, if he does it again ...
