Official NBA 2017-2018 Thread - Final day of the regular with playoff seating still unknown

He still was involved in coaching and practices for all of last year

The NBA's rule is stupid. All those years Aaron Rodgers sat behind Favre, they didn't count his first year playing as his rookie year. Homeboy from Dallas who was injured last year, this year isn't his rookie year.
Did Rodgers play a single game while Farve was there before he took over? Dud Dude in Dallas play in any games at all? If you play in a game your next full season you arent a rookie. If you dont play in a single game you are. Its really that simple.

Sitting with coaches etc is irrelevant. According to your logic, if a player goes to a camp, etc and benefits from a pro coaches teaching, he is no longer eligible to be a rookie?!?!

Rookie of the year is based on on court play by a player who until that season had not registered a minute of pro action. All the other filler you are adding to the equation is really a reach and irrelevant.

That was my point earlier good brother. The Cavs team is trash, LeBron is otherworldly is what makes them. Take him away they are a 30 win team at best...

Well I don't think they would play this way If Lebron wasn't on the squad so that alone should make a difference....

I am just patiently waiting for two seasons until the Bulls are back. Right now they the youngest team in the league. They will struggle to win 13 games. Too much youth and a terrible coach who can't develop young talent with terrible coaching schemes. Lord help my hometown team:smh:.

How big of an impact do you think Lavine makes when he returns?

Jordan Bell starts, Steph Curry cooks in Golden State's rout of Chicago
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Surrounded by such a staggering collection of firepower in Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, Stephen Curry's otherworldly gifts and remarkable résumé can sometimes go overlooked, even if just for a moment.

But just as quickly, the Golden State Warriors' dynamo can go on one of his patented scoring flurries, packed with moonbeam 3-pointers and eye-popping highlights, and remind everyone why he has twice won NBA MVP honors and lifted his franchise to two titles in three years.

On Friday, with Durant (sprained ankle) and Green (rest) both sidelined, Curry dominated the stage, lighting up the struggling, road-weary Chicago Bulls for 33 points -- including 26 in the second quarter alone -- en route to a 143-94 win, helping the Warriors bounce back from a double-digit defeat in Oklahoma City with a season-high point total.

When asked to pinpoint the moment he knew a game-changing run was afoot, Curry cited a 3-pointer early in the second quarter, right before a timeout -- that's when he started to feel his rhythm.

"Your shot feels good, and you're getting some open ones -- that's when the avalanche starts," Curry said.

Curry quickly buried the Bulls, shooting 10-of-18 from the floor, including 4-of-11 from 3-point range, in just under 27 minutes; he didn't play in the fourth quarter. Curry started slow, with just five points in the first quarter, but he caught fire in the second, when he outscored the Bulls by himself 26-21 while stretching the Warriors' lead to 23.

Curry's 26-point second quarter fell just two points shy of a career-high scoring total for a quarter. (He has twice notched 28 in a single frame.) His 31-point first half marked a season high for any Warriors player in a single half this season.

The Warriors, meanwhile, tallied their seventh 40-point win over the past four seasons. In that span, no team has more than two such wins. The Bulls' 49-point loss is their worst loss ever to the Warriors and their third-worst loss in franchise history.

Not to be outdone, Thompson, the other half of the Splash Brothers duo, chipped in with 29 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field, and the Warriors led by as much as 49 as the Bulls dropped to 3-14 and 0-4 on their Western Conference trip. Thompson made 5 of 9 3-pointers and added four rebounds, a steal and a block.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised the patience of Curry and Thompson to choose great looks rather than just good looks, as compared to recent games. Curry agreed and said he and his teammates were "kind of back to who we are" by moving the ball and setting solid screens for each other.

This matchup had been billed as a revenge game for Jordan Bell, as the Warriors rookie power forward made his first career start against the team that drafted him with the 38th overall pick before trading his draft rights to the Warriors for $3.5 million in cash. Bell scored the game's first bucket, finished a lob from Zaza Pachulia and showed a lot of his usual energy after being inactive in four of his past five games. Bell finished with seven points, six rebounds and six blocks in 26:24 of action.

Bell throws the hammer down after Zaza's steal

Zaza Pachulia comes up with a steal, drives downcourt and lobs an alley-oop pass to Jordan Bell, who finishes with an emphatic one-handed jam.

The Warriors entered the night ranked 28th in the NBA in turnovers, at 17.1 per game. They got off to a poor start in that area, with plenty of sloppy ballhandling before Curry started scorching the nets. The Bulls led 32-29 after the first quarter. But the Warriors had 36 assists to only 11 turnovers overall, while the Bulls had only 18 assists and 15 turnovers.

Forward Omri Casspi also started for the Warriors, finishing with six points, four assists and two steals. Nick Young was the seventh player off of Golden State's bench on Friday night, but he came through with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field.

LeBron, Russ post Oscar-worthy games
On Oscar Robertson's 79th birthday, two superstars pay homage with his signature feat: the triple-double.

Game last night shows how important Kanter is to your success. Willie has taken a step back this season, maybe a sophomore slump.

Sidenote:

damn...

I think Wall jinxed in chocolate city...

either he needs to join Boogie and AD or Boogie needs to join the Wiz ASAP

Cavs edge Hornets, win seventh straight

LeBron James records a triple-double of 27 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists as Cleveland tops Charlotte 100-99.

Thunder lose despite Westbrook's triple-double
Russell Westbrook records his sixth triple-double of the season, but misses a shot at the buzzer as Oklahoma City falls to Detroit 99-98.

Pelicans roll past Suns by 24
Behind strong performances by Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins as well as a 72-point first half, the Pelicans cruise by the Suns 115-91

Curry lights it up with 26-point quarter
Steph Curry flips a switch during the second quarter against the Bulls as he drops 26 points on 7-of-10 shooting, increasing his total at the half to 31 points.

I don't get it, shouldn't he be much happier that he was traded to the Warriors instead of playing for the Bulls? :dunno:

I'd be thanking the Bulls for the trade.

athletes use that stuff as motivation they didn't even give up a pick to get him just some cash. so the bulls didn't even think he was worth anything towards the future.
that'd be enough as an athlete who thinks highly of themselves to want to prove them wrong.

Knicks continue road struggles, fall to Hawks.
Dennis Schroder leads Atlanta with 26 points in a 116-104 win over New York, who are now 1-5 on the road.
