Philadelphia 76ers in the mix for Hawks’ Paul Millsap

With more news surfacing about Paul Millsap possibly getting traded soon, another team has emerged as a potential landing spot for the Atlanta Hawks forward.

The Philadelphia 76ers are nowreported to be in the mix for Millsap’s services as the team is looking to deal one of their big men to free up the logjam they have in their frontcourt.

While many believe that dealing for him does not make sense for the Sixers, Millsap has a different skill set compared to the bigs in their lineup. The 31-year-old Louisiana Tech product is as comfortable facing the basket as having his back to it. He can also play the role of a stretch forward as he has proven he can shoot from the perimeter with efficiency over the past years

However, one factor the 76ers might be looking at that many are not seeing is the potential of making Millsap a mentor to the team’s young core of Joel Embiid,Dario Saric and Ben Simmons. With his experience and being a three-time All-Star, the lessons he can share to them will be very valuable.

Should the Sixers indeed pursue Millsap, it will be interesting to find out who they are willing to part ways with.Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel are two of the names that have been consistently thrown in as the possible candidates to be traded by the team, but the Hawks may not see a need for either of them as their roster already featuresDwight Howard, Kris Humphries andMike Muscala. If they agree to deal Millsap to them, the Hawks will essentially have the problem the 76ers currently have up front.

One thing that may work in Philadelphia’s favor will be the Hawks opting to move their starting power forward to a team not considered a contender for now. Even with Millsap in their fold, the team still needs to add a few more pieces to make them serious threats in the Eastern Conference and may take a few more seasons for their core to play together at their best.

Millsap’s situation is definitely something worth monitoring and is expected to be talked about even more as the trade deadline nears. With the history of trades that has happened in the past, it won’t also come as a surprise if one or more teams will join the sweepstakes with the hopes of acquiring one of the better forwards in the NBA today.

Da fuck does trading one of our big men for Milsap free up a log jam in the front court? FOH!!

It's simple, they're looking at it like there's 3 centers, while Paul is a power forward.
Well that's the way I was looking at it.

Understood... but we are in the process of building young chemistry with a young team, and Milsap is still in his relative prime and will demand the ball, touches, etc. I will be thoroughly pissed if we acquire him, based on his salary too, would be a dumb ass acquisition which will set us back in my opinion...

Y0u can tell people that don't know basketball. Who has one of the BEST catch and shoot % of all players the last few years? Korver

Who has the highest assist for 3 point shooters this season - LeBron. This is big for the Cavs because it adds to the fire power WITHOUT destroying their chemistry. The Durant acquisition was big but they totally restructured a PERFECT TEAM to do so. And now they are stuck with a HORRIBLE bench and Javale McGee as their backup center (REALLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

This is the type of player they were looking to get out of Dunleavy but he could not make shot consistently. Korver does not have a problem making OPEN shots, he's shooting 49%.

I'm a Cavs fan but I am also a fan of basketball. The Warriors would have been better trying to get AD from New Orleans as opposed to Durant. They need a post presence, not another jump shooter. When the game is on the line and those legs start to get tired, you have to put someone in the post and muscle those buckets. And EVERYONE who watches basketball KNOWS Durant is not going to do that against LeBron when it counts. HE OWNS Durant.

If anything the Warriors need to worry about the Spurs, Rockets and Grizzlies before they even think about the Cavs. With no rim protection Harden is going to have a field day against them now that he has found his niche.

You can also tell people who don't understand the context of a simple statement... Go play in traffic lil fella. You're typing novels trying to sound intelligent but making a damn fool out of yourself becasue obviously you have the reading comprehension of a bag of dog shit...

If you want to state your opinion state it... but you can miss me with the bullshit, especially when you sound stupid as fuck because you have a limited capacity for critical thinking obviously...

Do better :hmm:

But for you, Atl took Millsap off the block(which I doubt is true). Y'all offer Noel and a 1st then something gonna shake

doesnt matter what mode we are in... adding him doesnt make sense imo... If its true, Im glad as hell they took him off the market. keeps us from doing dumb shit...

on a different note... why the hell hasn't anyone picked up Archie Goodwin yet?

Why is Portland's subpar play confusing?

Have you dudes seen their forwards and center?

Their big free agent signings were Evan Turner and Festus.

They have Lillard and CJ and nothing else

Fa sho...you're right

Giannis looking vulnerable. Coming off a sickness. But Beasley is beasting in SA tonight. Close one coming down to the wire.:dunno:

so in other words no big deal if they ever lose
gotcha
If you are a gambling man I will give you a tip, LeBron James teams usually don't play hard vs bigger physcicl teams in the regular season, teams like the Bulls, Jazz even Heat when they were good often gives them problems.. However those teams usually are lucky to win more than one game vs them in the playoffs.
But todays game it was Love and Irving playing subpar as they been playing since both of them got injured and sick. But history tells us that they do this every season so they should not be worried the least.

So don't worry on one side but.......the sky is falling for the other team.......I'm just saying objectively......Carry on.

Well you look for relevant patters that may carry on during the playoffs, In the Cavs loses its more they become complacent during the regular season yet always turns it up during the playoffs..
With the Warriors they are more like a machine that plays at one speed, playoffs or regular season so their flaws tend to have a more carry over effect in the playoffs.

Must be nice to get the benefit of the doubt I wouldn't know

WRONG lol
The only reason the warriors lose games at this point AFTER the 1st game is complacency
they up double digits on teams and get bored they not getting blowd out as Emmitt would say

Remember when folks got hyped when the Bulls beat them in the regular season, the year before it was the Hawks, with the Heat it was always either the Knicks, Pacers or the Bulls pumping their chest during the regular season, but during the playoffs those team always get humbled...
Shit even last year the Warriors beat them twice only to find out how the Cavs are able to take it up a notch when the games get big.
Note the Jazz has beaten a LeBron James team 5 strait times in Utah and I think they turned out ok after those loses.

If you get complacency during the finals then your retarded.. WTF your saving it for, the Zombie Apocalypse?

BTW I would be more worried about being up three vs one of the worst teams in the NBA at home than losing to the Jazz at Utah during a game where Love and Irving still are playing sick.

Once again the Cavs looked like crap tonight, haven't been the same since Irving and Love went out, but LeBron really played poorly.. To me it reminds me of how they played before LeBron sat out four games due to mental tiredness.
I think they need a few days off to get their legs back because they look behind the 8 ball right now.
