Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Wiggins is a decant player but if you want him to be your future, good luck with that.

What's wrong with his future? You wilding. I'm not saying he's a superstar yet but he's on pace to be one if he keeps improving his offensive game at this rate.

I think this is what you are going to get from him from now on. His problem has never been talent its been his inconsistency, meanwhile he has two players on his team that are younger than him that seem to have developed better and are more consistent than him.
Was never a big fan of his even in college and basically he is the same player in the pros.

Aye 1st I apologize to Rose. It wasn't him..
2nd that explanation that Lee gave makes me wish it was Rose because this dude just blamed an assistant coach for him not shooting the 3
jeez louise

Look at it this way Love first three years in the NBA he went from 11, 14, to 20pts per game while his shooting % raising from 459 to 470. and his rebounds went from 9.1 to 15.2 basically by year three you got a glimpse of the player he is today.
Wiggins on the other hand went from 16.9 to 20.7 to 21.6 ppg but his shooting % is down from last year 459 to 449 so he is scoring more but taking and missing more in the process. And his rebounds are 4.3 which is down from 4.6 during his rookie season.
To me by year three you should show vast improvements over the others before you star projecting greatness.. But who knows maybe he can fix the problem between his ears and become a more productive and consistent player in the NBA because lord knows he has the raw talent.

You see what Melo is capable of when motivated and playing with similar talent. Look what he did on the world stage...he was the star on a team of stars in multiple Olympics. It's Phil's job to get that kind of production. If you didn't respect his game why come there and try to change a player who has lead teams to Gold medals and NCAA championships. You see how he came sideways at Lebron, unprovoked...

He would like to get all these talented uppity negroes out of the league and go back to the way things were when talent could be easily controlled.

:hmm:

Courtney Lee: Wizards assistant impacted decision to not take final shot

NEW YORK -- New York Knicks guard Courtney Lee said Washington assistant coach Sidney Lowe was on the court and shouting as if he was a defender near him, impacting his decision not to shoot a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the frantic final seconds of Thursday's night's game against the Wizards.

Replays show Lowe on the court between the Wizards' bench and the 3-point arc near Lee, who hesitates to shoot an open 3-pointer after catching a pass from Carmelo Anthony.

A Washington defender then closes in on him and Lee drives and passes the ball away in the final seconds. The Knicks ended up not being able to get off a final shot as Washington held on for a 113-110 victory at Madison Square Garden.

"I thought it was one of their players because I was getting ready to shoot and in my peripheral you see a body right there and he is saying, 'I am right here! I am right here! I got your stunt!'" Lee explained. "Usually in basketball terminology, that is a switch or I am going to jump out, so I shot-faked and drove. I still should have shot the shot."

Lowe is seen temporarily standing on the court between an official and Lee near the 3-point line. Lowe then drifts back behind the sideline back near the bench when Lee has the ball.

"So I don't shoot it, I drop the ball thinking it is going to be a double close out and I try to make a play to Brandon [Jennings] and I think he bobbled the ball a little bit and that is the end of the game. Come to find out it was the assistant coach, not a player."

Lee added: "I don't know if it was part of the defensive scheme for a coach to be out there and saying that and being on the floor standing next to me, but it happens. We lost. I should have shot it."

Knicks center Kyle O'Quinn was asked if Lowe violated an unwritten rule.

"Oh yeah, most definitely," O'Quinn said. "At any level, you can't do that. You look at the screen shots and it looks like he's getting closer and closer to the paint almost. But it happens, things didn't go our way. But I'm sure the NBA will talk to him and do what's right."

Anthony said he has never seen anything like what happened at the end as the Knicks furiously erased a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to take a one-point lead in the final minute before losing for the 12th time in the past 15 games.

"I saw it live," Anthony said when asked if he saw the replays of Lowe near Lee. "He was on the court. They have six players on the court. I mean, I saw Courtney open, and to be quite honest with you, I was talking to Courtney after the game and he believed that, he thought it was [Washington's] Kelly [Oubre] or somebody closing out to him. He said that was the reason why he didn't feel comfortable taking that shot. Then once you see it after, once he saw it after, they got some clarity on who it was."

Anthony added: "I've never seen it before ... I've never seen that before, especially not in a situation like that. Close game, half-court offense, we're trying to make something happen. I've never seen anything like that."

Lee hopes the NBA investigates the final play. The guard, who is a 42.1 percent 3-point shooter this season, said he "definitely" had space to take the shot if he hadn't thought a Wizard defender was near him.

"He fooled me," Lee said of Lowe. "I still should have should have took the shot ... I've never seen that in my whole career.

"I think it's something they [the NBA] need to take a look at ... Being a basketball player you play off of instincts, and if you hear somebody right there, that's why I try to make the right play. But I still should have shot it."

Yeah, he was on the court. That shit should have been a tech and the ball but fuck the Snicks!

I don't care how awesome Harden has been playing this season, he is still ass cheeks on defense.

Thats why he couldn't get my vote for MVP if I had one.... I don't respect any player who give 90% of their energy on the offensive end of the court! He hurts his team to much defensively. If you look at the stats of the PG/SG he guards you will most definitely see their stats are better with him on them...

Dude... that might be one of the stupidest theories I've ever heard... literally... :smh:
Dumbest shit ever, and he has said plenty of dumb shit; Anybody with a brain would see that KD would fit perfectly; them mofos only been playing together for 40+ games and look what they doing; they win this year and dudes gonna be mad and hating; but wait until next season when they really know how to play with each other...

We ain't even there yet but Kerr be lurking and I need a fucking check

after the highly posted about L's I said
Make sure they run the offense no hero ball.
Call timeouts to stop every run a team makes.

Since that time what have the warriors been doing?
Kerr is actually coaching better; but I also told you bills its earlier and mofos was on cruise control; they not going to even really be truly focused until after the all star break anyways; they just still learning; these teams are info for a treat ; GS is some lucky mofos for real :giggle:

NBA: Wizards' Sidney Lowe should have been assessed technical

The NBA said on Friday that Washington Wizards assistant coach Sidney Lowe should have been assessed a technical foul for standing on the court in the final seconds of Thursday night's win over the New York Knicks, and the league fined both Lowe and the team.

Lowe was fined $5,000 for "standing on the playing court and potentially impacting game action," and the Wizards were fined $15,000.

Knicks guard Courtney Lee said after the loss that Lowe's presence and shouting as if he were a defender influenced his decision to not shoot a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the frantic final seconds of the game, which the Wizards won 113-110.

The NBA, in its Last Two Minute Report, said Lowe was "standing on the floor close to Lee for several seconds and should have been assessed a technical foul."

"I thought it was one of their players because I was getting ready to shoot and in my peripheral you see a body right there and he is saying, 'I am right here! I am right here! I got your stunt!'" Lee said. "Usually in basketball terminology, that is a switch or I am going to jump out, so I shot-faked and drove. I still should have shot the shot."

Replays showed Lowe temporarily standing on the court between an official and Lee near the 3-point line. Lowe then drifted back behind the sideline as Lee received the ball.

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony also was confounded by Lowe's perceived interference.

"I've never seen that before, especially not in a situation like that," Anthony said. "Close game, half-court offense, we're trying to make something happen. I've never seen anything like that."

Are you sure about that? Chris Broussard said that opposing guards shooting ave is less then the league ave when Harden is defending them.

'Melo: If Knicks choose to rebuild, 'I have to consider' waiving no-trade clause

If team president Phil Jackson and company, though, were to decide to make their struggles, shall we say, a little more official? Well, then, the 11-time All-Star might ponder changing his tune.

Anthony has a no-trade clause in his contract, but he said he would be willing to listen to management if they told him they wanted to make a change.

“I think it will be more on the front office,” Anthony told Newsday this week. “I have the power, but still I would talk to them. We would be in communication if they feel like they want to go in a different direction, they want to start rebuilding for the future. If they tell me they want to scrap this whole thing, yeah, I have to consider it.”

The Knicks declined to comment.

The meeting had been the culmination of several days of acrimony after the publication of a disparaging story on Anthony by longtime Jackson assistant coach and ghostwriting author Charley Rosen.

In the meeting, Jackson told Anthony he did not subscribe to the criticisms in the article and the story did not speak for him, sources said. […]

Anthony has three years left on his contract, including an early termination option for the 2018-19 season. Anthony has $26.2 million guaranteed for the 2017-18 season and $27.9 million for the 2018-19 option season. If Anthony were to waive his no-trade clause, he’s owed a 15 percent trade kicker – roughly an additional $10 million.

Trading Anthony would be exceptionally complicated. The Knicks would need to find a suitor for whom ‘Melo would be willing to waive the NTC, and — given the 32-year-old’s not likely to be enthused about playing for anything but teams with a shot at contending if he’s already going to be leaving New York City and uprooting his family — that limits the pool to semi-realistic title contenders.

Would Carmelo Anthony eventually consider moving on from New York? (AP)
also have to be able to offer both a more stable environment than Madison Square Garden (easy enough!) and a large enough role for Anthony to avoid going from the No. 1 option in New York to a complementary piece on a smaller stage (not necessarily so easy for an established contender). Finding a team that checks all of those boxes is … well, as CBS Sports’ Matt Moore detailed earlier this week, it’s basically impossible.

It also might be a moot point, because Anthony’s hypothetical is contingent on Jackson making it clear to him that he intended to steer the Knicks into a full-scale rebuild.

Whether or not Jackson believes the Knicks have already reached the point of no return, and whether he’s able to orchestrate an exit that ‘Melo would sign off on, remains to be seen. For now, though, while Anthony remains insistent that he’s not looking to live anywhere but the Big Apple, it’s at least worth noting that he’s becoming more open to keeping his options open.

They also running a lot more pick and roll for Steph

Im not even arguing, but if we gonna say that opposing guards get their best numbers against him, we have to be sure of the stats.

It's not as simple or as complex
It's not even if someone is scoring on him- it's if someone is creating points cause of him. if he's sagging off and giving up buckets cause of slow rotations (like steph does from time to time which is irritating) it's those types of things way more than 1 on 1 i stop someone
there's like 5 1 on 1 stoppers in the nba from the perimeter
lebron
kawai
bradley
klay
and 1 more .. allen maybe/beverly?
but everyone else is just maintaining and trying to hold up their responsibilities.

Wins against the Cavs, Thunder, and Rockets convincingly and niggas quiet as fuck in here lol. Guess RoidRage won't have shit to analyze until the Dubs lose another regular season game....
