Official Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder Playoff Thread

Without Westbrook OKC won't win this series I think they will get one more but this shows they need that little homie to compete at this level

derrick fisher went into jarrett jack mode.

KD was right there for a pull-up 3, but "fuck you, nicca... i'm gon be the hero."

:lol::lol::lol:

holy shit

I cant believe this. KD miseed those free throws. NO FUCKING WAY

pressure busts pipe.

btw, i think kevin martin is point-shaving. i've seen this dude in both sacramento & houston score at-will sometimes. but for okc, he can't make shit.

that was a charge

nah.

not even close.

check the side angle and you'll see marc gasol starting to fall down (sit down) even before contact with kevin durant. flop all the way.

but didn't matter, because kevin durant missed both FTAs.

Durant choked...smh
I feel that if you make Durant a high volume shooter you can get to his stamina and once tired he is prone to mental mistakes.. This is where the injury to Westbrook affects OKC the most..

Durant only took 19 shots. That's about his season average. It's not the offensive side that is the problem. It's dealing with Gasol in the paint that is wearing him down more than anything.

But he just missed the three throws. He didn't short them so fatigue is probably not the issue. He missed a couple others earlier too

KD can't do this shit on his own man...their GM outsmarted himself trading Harden away when they could have just kept him and amnestied Perkins.

Put Harden on this team right now and they still walk to the WCF.

.

He didn't look tight or anything. Plus Durant has drained those a 100 times under those terms. I don't think it was the "pressure". I've seen reggie miller do that as well and I don't think the pressure got him.

kevin durant's body language has been fucked up (defeated) ever since he missed those 2 FTAs
Yea. He knew he blew it. He seems to be hard on himself whenever he fucks up. Honestly, Reggie blew the game when he fucked up that fastbreak with Fish on the wing and Shef/Martin trailing for the go ahead bucket.

Not only that, he was being the facilitator bringing the ball up, and had to play more mins than normal.. With Westbrook, at least he could have costed a little and even ride the bench more..
Also those 19 shot wasn't easy shots, something he would get with Westbrook providing spacing... Those shot was often in traffic, off the dribble or in the paint, they were hard working 19 shots.

man I aint even know what to say.Durant is pretty automatic at the line so I can only chalk that up to fatigue throwing his mechanics off there slightly

:smh::smh::smh: in triple OT, i'd go for the fatigue excuse.

but at this time of the season, and based on his past performances, there's no way durant is tired.

i'd believe hurt not tired. these guys don't get tired at this time of the season. and durant, even in college, has always been a high minute player.

dat nicca felt the pressure.

Tony Allen made him work for everything that second half.

And how is Brooks having KD having to mark Gasol.

Man never underestimate what having a decent coach can do in a series :smh:

This goes back to Jeff Green. He was a 100 times better option than Ibaka.

That wouldn't change that. He doesn't get many shots off Westbrook driving and kicking. Memphis is a great defensive team and tony allen is one of the best in the league so he's going to work anyway.

The main issue here is that OKC is getting nothing out of their big men.

Actually if you notice Durant has gotten a majority of his easy buckets while bringing the ball up the court before the defense has set..which he would never be able to do with westbrook..

the miss westbrook because he's their second best scorer and no one else is really going to pick up those points....not because Durant specifically needs it..

Westbrook actually helps the other guys out like Serge

I always said that the only thing that separates LeBron from Durant is, James stamina, his dribbling, passing and defense.... Durant has a better jumper, and OKC needs to surround him with better complementary players, similar to the way the Lakers did with Kobe.

i've been pretty critical of reggie jackson this post season, mainly because he's been a willing punching bag. meaning he's been passive and letting the grizzlies do what they want while he watches.

it was more of the same in the first half, as it was his man back dooring off the double team.

but in the second half, reggie jackson decided, "fine, you gonna score on me, but i'm gonna impact this game by scoring back". so he was more aggressive and pushed tempo.

reggie jackson did blow that break, but his first half D was worse.

the big (BS) call down the stretch was the and 1 marc gasol got when he cleared out serge ibaka with his left hand.

Yep. That would have completely changed the dynamics of the game.

russell westbrook does so many things.

he can push tempo, he can keep the opponent D honest, and on a very basic level he can balance the floor so the lane doesn't get so crowded.

Agreed. The tempo is important because Memphis plays such good half-court defense and Westbrook would produce a lot of transitions points before the D could set up. But it's the role players that are really struggling with Westbrook. Durant is still getting his and getting them efficiently but the other guys aren't getting those easy buckets that Westbrook can produce for them... or like you said... the spacing is just not there.... and Durant is good enough to get around that.... and guys like serge, perkins, etc
