Official JUSTIFIED Discussion Thread UPDATE: They BACK new mini series! Justified: City Primeval

What the hell was Ava trying to do? Get a car and leave Harlan? What does the shovel have to do with anything?

Boyd act like he's never had a woman make him breakfast ...apparently no IHOP around there

Choo Choo ? more like bullet train

Ava not thinking clearly, she think she can just run away from Boyd and the marshal's. They stopped to get a shovel, because Ava lied and said she had money Buried.

If you noticed, and a testament to the writing of the show, Boyd has not been eating well this season. Even when he met the main villain he had a hamburger. Ava Breakfast is the Best meal he had all season.

I see Choo Choo is everyone's favorite this season.

Jay Dade Bills GOW and the rest of the writing crew check this thread out when you get a chance...

I have been thinking of this for a long while. We as Black people need to stop waiting for someone to save us and save ourselves. We have talent, but coming together and actually building it together is another thing. What usually ends up happening is too many people come in with too many visions of the completed building and just start throwing up bricks with no mortar. The end result is often a clusterfuck or an unfinished mess.

As with Hollywood Shuffle, White writers who know nothing about Black people, Black lives, or living, come in and write what they think is funny and it isn't usually funny.

I know all of us are living under the blanket of anonymity, but we can still work toward building something. So much Black talent that isn't being utilized by the mainstream in roles that give dignity to the actor - and drug dealers, or head-wringing Black women and the like is not dignifying.

What can we do? As someone said, there is youtube and other mediums

you can't just drop a damn knowledge bomb and walk away cuz

:lol::lol::lol:

that was so damn impressive I felt unworthy to even reply to your post!

I hate to say this but I wish Ava was just a little bit prettier/sexier
Sometimes it hard to see why as the writers explain EVERYONE wanted her...
that she a siren...I felt that Raylan's baby mother would have been better suited for that.

Every time I look at her she looks so OBVIOUSLY afraid and frazzled that I can't believe no one else notices.

But I love that they are going right back to the roots of the first season making this entirely about Raylan and Boyd the mines the town and a woman...

Choo Choo needs a damn Emmy nod

 "You want him with a lil girl tap you do it, you ask me and he is getting Amtrack'ed "

Boyd used the word "ameliorated" I had to look that one up.

I love that shit...I use words like that all the time just to see the reaction.
I hate how Hollywood has now portrayed any character of color who speaks like that as some type of prison scholar and religious figure.
I need you to write a smart charming Black anti hero male lead who talks like that all the time...

Go back and watch how Limehouse speaks - he sounds just like Steve Harvey -

I laughed the entire time

Steve Harvey is proud of telling people he's a descendent of pig farmers... Limehouse is his kin

Choo Choo rest in peace ...

The train will never be the same without ya...

Still Loyal after being betrayed.

"As I can recall, last time we sat down for Ava's fried Chicken it didn't end well"

"Wonderful things can happen when you sow seeds of distrust in a garden of assholes"

:smh: Boyd, dont want to die in the mines. :smh: Ava uncle trying to kill him.

One thing about whites they don't let shit go!

Those family feuds are serious, if they feel you disrespected them... They will make money with you smile in your face and throw you over the cliff

What's beautiful about this show and the dialogue therein is that it didn't stop there.

Tim asked where the line came from, and when Raylan said that he'd read it somewhere Tim's response was for Raylan to say it again slower so that he could write it down.

Brilliant.

And I though Choo-Choo was going to get taken out by the train. They wanted you to think that. Shit, it would have been apropos. Instead they have him die right there on the tracks.

Not much in this show is predictable. Both Tim and Raylan, two of the better shots in the series only wound the sonofabitch called Choo-Choo. Even down to Ava's uncle saving Boyd, only for Boyd's partner to discover that it was a trap accidentally only to be pushed by that man to the death that Boyd Crowder so narrowly avoided.

How many of you have tried to get family members and friends into the show and they don't pick it up, or say that they can't get into it for some reason or the other. They have no idea what they are missing - real, unpredictable scripted TV where they don't wrap up an idea, storyline, situation, or conflict in one 60 minute episode, or sometimes a whole season. Remember the grandmother in season 2 wasn't fully explained until almost the end of season 3 when she soaked Raylan with milkshake.

I am honestly going to miss this series when it is gone, because thus far in my 30 some years of watching TV it's been simple, and every show has given me exactly when I'd expected. Predicable dialogue along with storylines, and 2-dimensional characters that I'd seen before. While the colors may be different, it is largely palpable in a distinguishable way that your brain recalls the memory the way your mouth starts watering tasting the Girl Scout Cookies again after a year even before they touch your lips.

I heard that line and smiled and the reaction from the sniper was priceless great writing but even GREATER delivery...

its like they KNEW the audience - real Justified fans would be saying the dame thing...

honestly I was thinking cousin Jay gonna LOVE that one.

I have NO idea why KNEW the uncle set him up and I also knew SOMEONE was going down that hole...

and SOMEONE is gonna fire a gun down there...

I knew he wasn't long but I still miss him...

YOLO!!!

Look at it though,

this show has created some of the most memorable character I have ever encountered in 4 episodes numerous time (hell fans STILL want to know what REALLY was gonna happen to the Haitian - now that is some fan fiction just waiting to be written!!!)

and with just a few minutes screen time.

there are series going on their 3 rd year you haven't created ONE.

A testament to the writing directing acting and casting.

^^^^

I was thinking just the whole Southern Kentucky Holler Mining community farming rural former slave themes would make another great series if you could either go in the PAST and show the development of the town and mines and maybe do some flash forwards to the near present.

How's Ty getting stitched up after the shootout?

I mean real life feds would just roll up to the pizza shop and arrest everybody.

And fucking Limehouse wheeling and dealing again. I'm guessing he's gonna get in too deep with Boyd and die off this season

you saw the black dude whom we had never seen before, and didn't even utter a word...and he gets shot in the crossfire

damn Raylan how you put your wet hat in the crib when you first walk in?

He showing you he clearly is not ready. But He is trying.

Kentucky will show your ass Who can survive or not as a villain. Quarrels came all clean cut and gangster, left all beat up and one arm.

Dude who got shot, he came in the fancy Mercedes thinking it was all good, now he all fucked up.

Kentucky aint for outsiders.

Boyd testing Ava with an unloaded gun.

them boys all going after Ava can keep her

Winona one fine snowflake.

This show perfectly marries great writing and great acting.

Because those lines would fall flat involving lesser actors.

I liked every interaction...

it was like every single scene involved just 2 people sparring.

Ava and Boyd: He was accusing her with every line...his tone and inflection made an innocent invitation sound like a death threat.

I am still confused why they decided that Boyd doesn't UNDERSTAND why leaving Ava in prison would piss her off so much (although it was her own fault)

When he asks her about sleeping with Raylan?!?!

That too was so ill because was it the truth?

would THAT be the worst thing that she could do to him even more then snitching?

Or was that all about the set-up with the empty gun?

To push HER buttons knowing she DOES still have feelings for Raylan?

Raylan and Winona scenes made me miss her so much She just fit right in and really adds a lot to something we wanted to see KNEW was coming but was still compelling.

Raylan and the sister had a very interesting interaction...her NOT holding the baby.

That was a brave thing to do because to many it could seem cold detached the bossy black woman stereotype but that was more about this is my JOB Raylan I need to be focused I'm not your partner anymore I'm your boss go handle your personal business don't try to pull me in like you do everyone else because I got eyes on me waiting for me to fail they aren't going to give the leeway they gave our boss..

Markham and Chief had me rolling those are some 2 aging champs just sparring...

That Markham speech about loyalty was awesome...hell I would have left him too.

It was still sad that Top KNEW what would happen.

"Its been such a day."

The scene in the tunnel they think Ava's uncle just crazy...he crazy smart too.

I'm gonna miss the HELL out this show.

Marshall Rachel Brooks using the, "chasing our own dicks" expression and then Tim saying, "Sounds really strange when you say that"

had me dying. I had to rewind it like 4 times

it's not just my love of country music, but my love for music in general but draws me into some songs based on the words, or the rhythm, or the timbre -something that just grabs me and won't let go with a nice song plays. it kind of had the feeling of turn the page (when top is pulling the bullet out)

In the film Schools I went to, All the kinds of other ethnicities music went perfect to set the tone in their projects. All the black kids used Rap music no matter what the Scene. :smh:

typical. it saddens me that so many of us stay locked in the cage with an open door. I remember watching the movie Instinct with Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding jr. there was a gorilla in a cage, when they finally open the door to the cage the gorilla wouldn't leave

for me fuck a stereotype. I never fit them. I might have been born in the hood but I don't have a hood mind. I think differently I act differently and I almost intentionally like different shit. I almost intentionally like things that everybody else aint on yet. on my iPod (actually a Zune) you could just as easily come across a Barry Manilow song as you could want from Scarface.folks that only listen to rap music as if other types of music don't exist have no idea of the greatness they are missing out on.

I know you are a writer, are you a director as well? what other talents do you have? you seem to be one of those eclectic brothers like myself

I direct. No IMDB credits yet. I edit. Just not any CG work. Photography. And I draw really well when copying another drawing, not so much when free-styling.

Ava has been shook all of this season

This show misses Winona, that may have been the most touching thing I've heard a woman say to a man in a while

That baby gave no fuck ....

Why did he give those kids the vest ?

Art just walking around the office ...bored with retirement already ?

Boyd really likes pork !

he gave em the vest and more importantly the credit to use and throw thhe marshalls off his scent. told the kids to deliver the vest and for the favor they could use his card. Hoping the man hunt would think he was on his way to Orlando.
