I think the Cavs will be a second seed come playoffs, while Miami continue to to in that 6-8 slot...

As of today...

Cats talking about if Lebron takes off the Cavs ain't winning. Shit, he took all the wins from Miami when he left south beach.  That team was just in the finals last year.

21-26. They aren't even going to see 40 fucking wins in the east.

Miami has been injured all year and two of our bright spots are D League player in TJ and Whiteside.

When the team did play together we were really good but man that has not happened for almost all the season.

Awh yes, the east, where 21-26 is good enough for a playoff birth. Where the Heat might win 37 games and still be a 7th seed. :smh: Cavs won 33 games last year. You guys ARE the fucking Cavs. Lebron took his wins with him.

Damn. With the way both the Cavs and Heat fell apart after he left, it's just makes what he brings all that more impressive. But hell, he did have to lead you guys in points, assists, AND rebounds. :smh: Damn that man put in work with you guys.

And you go at him for having to do the same up here? Without Lebron last year, your team is an under .500 team just like now.

 You know it's bad when cats are talking about McRoberts being injured. Face it, Lebron was about 20 wins. Period. You guys were doomed as soon as he left.

Cleveland Cavaliers: Giving up Andrew Wiggins was necessary to win now

By: Bob Finnan

Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 - 6:30 p.m.

Cavaliers coach David Blatt was just being honest.

AR-150209991.jpg&Maxw=400

"At the end of the day, no one wanted to see Andrew go," he said after the Cavaliers' 106-90 victory over the Timberwolves Jan. 31.

He was referring to rookie swingman Andrew Wiggins, who fired in a career-high 33 points against his "former" team.

Wiggins never played a regular-season game for the Cavaliers (29-20), who sent him to Minnesota in a three-team deal Aug. 23.

The 6-foot-8, 199-pounder has star written all over him. Wiggins has the want-to, bloodlines and athleticism to become a perennial All-Star. He's the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year.

That's one reason why the Timberwolves insisted on Wiggins being included in the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Love to the Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers, who have won 10 in a row, probably tried to make the trade using guard Dion

Waiters instead. The Wolves said no.

They wanted Wiggins and forward Anthony Bennett, the first overall draft picks from 2013 and 2014, respectively. That's a steep price to pay for the Cavaliers, who were in a win-now mode.
LeBron James wanted to bring the 6-10, 243-pound Love to the Cavaliers to join forces with Kyrie Irving and himself. That Big Three, most experts surmised, would challenge for an NBA title. The group started slowly, but is starting to show potential.

They haven't lost a game since Jan. 13 in Phoenix, a span of almost three weeks. They host the lowly 76ers on Feb. 2 at Quicken Loans Arena.

Would they have loved to keep Wiggins and watch him develop next to the best player in the league? Sure. But, again, it was about winning now.

"That was a deal that was made with the idea with what we wanted our roster to look like, with LeBron coming back (and looking at) what we needed," Blatt said after the Jan. 31 game.

"Andrew Wiggins is already a fine young basketball player and he's going to be a great player. As is Kevin Love, who we brought to the team to play the position and give us the skill set that we were lacking. So I thought that was a good deal all around and one that should have a good feeling for all involved."

Wiggins went right at James in the Jan. 31 game. James dominated action in the fourth quarter with 16 of his game-high 36 points.

"He's a great talent, great talent," James said. "He has a very good feel for the game. That's good to see. He was calm, played the game the right way tonight. He made some mental mistakes, but as a rookie you expect that. I think he's grown each month in this season.

They've got a good piece."

Love has been very good at times with the Cavaliers. He had 14 points and a game-high 17 rebounds against the Wolves.

Going back to the Target Center, he heard more than his share of boos. He came away impressed with Wiggins.

"He played great tonight," Love said. "You can see that he's going to continue to evolve, get better as time goes on. Being the focal point of their team, I know they're struggling, but he's going to have a lot of opportunities to better his game this year and in the next few years as they grow and get better as a team.

"You saw tonight a lot of flashes of what he can do and he's going to continue to get better."
Love said the Cavaliers fulfilled their goal of extending their winning streak.

"Different teammates from the past, different guys over on the bench," he said, "I gave (Wolves coach) Flip (Saunders) some love in the second half. It all went well. We ended up getting a win, as we said before the game that's what we came here to do. We walked away with 10 straight so we're happy."

Less than a month ago, the Philadelphia 76ers came from 17 down to beat Cleveland, sending the Cavaliers to an unquestioned low point and revealing their lack of depth.

That's no longer an issue.

Two trades and the healthy return of two stars later, the Cavaliers look to push their winning streak to 11 on Monday night by getting a little payback on a visiting 76ers team that nearly ended a much lengthier run two days earlier.

LeBron James was in the midst of a stretch of eight games off and Kyrie Irving sat out with lower back tightness when Cleveland (29-20) visited Philadelphia on Jan. 5 and blew a 10-point lead with less than six minutes left in a 95-92 loss.

Kevin Love had 28 points and 19 rebounds, but there wasn't much help to be found. Cleveland was in the process of acquiring J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert in a three-team trade right before the game, and was forced to start Mike Miller, Matthew Dellavedova and Joe Harris while giving James Jones, Brendan Haywood and A.J. Price minutes off the bench.

Price is no longer on the roster and there's a good chance four of the other five don't shed their warmups in this one. Smith and Shumpert have settled into key roles, Timofey Mozgov has shored up the middle after being acquired from Denver on Jan. 7 and James and Irving look rejuvenated.

It was James' turn to take over offensively Saturday. He had 16 of his 36 points in the fourth, outscoring Minnesota by himself as the Cavaliers owned a 30-11 edge in the quarter while rallying for a 106-90 win.

"I just think LeBron recognized the moment, knew it was his time and showed why he's the best player in the game once again," coach David Blatt said after Cleveland improved to 27-12 when James plays.

While the Cavs' streak is their first to reach double digits since a franchise-record 13-game run in 2009-10, the 76ers (10-38) nearly snapped an even longer one Saturday.

Down by as many as 21 in Atlanta, Philadelphia took the lead with less than three minutes to play before the Hawks closed on a 10-2 run to win 91-85 and extend their streak of perfection to 19.

Coach Brett Brown called the 76ers' performance "a fantastic learning experience."

"You've put in a lot of work," Brown said. "Let it fly. Go ahead and get your legs into your shot, find your teammate and you will or you won't. And (Atlanta) did."

Philadelphia hit 14 of 35 from 3-point range Saturday, but it's averaging just 85.9 points and shooting 39.4 percent in its last eight games.

That's troubling news considering Cleveland's done a 180 defensively on its streak. The Cavs have allowed an average of 92.9 points and held opponents to 40.2 percent shooting in the past eight after yielding 100.7 per game and 47.2 percent shooting -- 29th in the NBA -- in their first 41 contests.

Cleveland's been especially good in the first quarter in its last eight, outscoring opponents by an average of 7.1 points. The starting five of Irving, Smith, James, Love and Mozgov outscored the opposition by an astounding 29.3 points per 100 possessions when on the floor together in January.

The 76ers have moved K.J McDaniels back to the bench, but a lineup of him, Michael Carter-Williams, Robert Covington, Luc Mbah a Moute and Nerlens Noel was Philadelphia's best -- and the NBA's 11th-best -- last month, posting a plus-9.7 net rating.

Man once Love get his touch together they gonna be alright....

In the first 8 mins dude had
Fg's - 1/6
Rebs - 8

You Gene, as long as King James is on the team you guys will win but... nobody can tell me my Sixers don't have some good young talent Bruh... Hanging tough...

Kyrie is REALLY looking good as the PG/SG though. I LOVE how he's playing lately bruh :yes:

Man I was just about to say the same thing about them...

The hornets/pelicans were like this last year but with a few more vets....they lost often but played hard nightly...

Yeah, he needs to get it together mentally. We know he can shoot. At least he is hitting the glass.

Actually I'm starting to feel fit he can learn to play slightly better defense and just rebound he would be great, because the spacing would still be there and scoring will come from the others like tonight...Ian hit 12

I have a question for the Cavs fans why is it that coach Blatt seems to have a obsession with playing Dellavedova during crunch times in the 2nd half and never plays T-Mov in the 2nd half. Sure he just hit a big three, but teams leave him wide open so they can help double up in the paint, and when that happens their flow tends to slow down..

 You know it's bad when cats are talking about McRoberts being injured. Face it, Lebron was about 20 wins. Period. You guys were doomed as soon as he left.

McRoberts was a big part in what we do on offense. But the two key players that has missed games for an extended time has been Bosh, Wade and Deng.

Deng and Wade are both out again. We simple can't have those key players out and compete.

With T Mov in the line up you will get ran off the court by teams like Atlanta

Maybe a extra ball handler who's solid on defense...

Shit when Ian comes off minutes restriction, that might change if he did yet...

But the ball is more stagnant with Dellavedova camping at the three point arch, often his defender helps out in the paint daring him to hit that shot, and on defense all he does well is foul. They look so much better in the first half with JR and T-Mo in the game.

Plus letting him get these minutes is helping him with his confidence...

Which helps with the depth in the long run...

Timo is pretty solid defending pick and roll bro...Noah probably the best big I've seen latey...

Damn my bad wrong thread

That's what it's starting to look like but April is still a ways off...

Blatt is still finding rotations. Perhaps he is trying to build a little confidence in his backup PG. Irving is about due for an injury.

Plus, I'd want to play T as little as possible until the playoffs. Just enough to keep him in the flow. If he goes down..... :smh:

The Hawks are light in the ass and that shit is going to be their achilles heel during the playoffs..

You don't have a clue to what the fuck your talking about, so do what you do best, thats sit your ass down..

A good coach will plan for teams he has to face in the playoffs and not to win games where his team is simply more talented. The reason for this is that you will eventually meet a team who has just as much talent.

Playing Timofey Mozgov and Tristan Thompson would be a series issue with a team like the Hawks. Al Horford and Milsap would get any shot they wanted by spreading the floor. This line up also would not score for Cleveland because it would force the Cavs into iso ball.

Your best line up is Love and Tristan but that will require Love to step up. With Love on the floor he creates space and makes the pick n roll dangerous. Problem is that Loves plays no defense.

The Hawks are light in the ass and that shit is going to be their achilles heel during the playoffs..

The Heat were light in the ass for four year and went to the finals each year and won two titles. The game has long changed from dominating big men. There are not anymore dominating bigs to worry about and it is the reason ball movement and shooting are winning titles.

But they had James and Wade, players who could play big.. Let me tell you this, you are not going to come close to beating the Cavs if they destroy you off the boards, and the way the Hawks look they would be stomped on the boards during the playoffs when the game slows down and gets tough.
Matter of fact I would not be surprised if the Heat give them trouble if they were to meet up in the playoffs.

Miami won because they did not face any true big men. In the east they faced J Noah and Hibbert. Neither of them were going to destroy you in the paint.

In the west the faced Perkins, Chandler and Splitter and they were not going to do anything in the paint.

While they did get a lot of rebounds they were forced to play on the other in which was a clear mismatch because they could not guard out on the perimeter.

The problem I see with Cleveland will be shooting. You are trusting JR Smith who is a known streak shooter to play consistent. He is also not a great defender.

JR is a good team defender, and a great knock down shooter... The thing that makes JR so good is that you have to always keep a body on him or else he will kill you with the knock down shot.. This is what is opening up driving lanes for the Cavs, as far as the Hawks they are a one trick pony with no plan b.. If you have height and athleticism you will give them all types of problems, as is the case tonight vs N.O.. Asik is killing them and he is practically a clone to T-Mo... I called they will be exposed real soon, just like I called how the Wiz, Raptors and even the Bulls would also...
