{~}Official 2022-2023 NBA Thread - it’s that time again, this thread coming to a end

Dame just needs to stop being a bitch and stop the passive aggressive shit and ask for a fuckin trade with some base in his voice
Dame doesn't want people to laugh at him going to another team since he wants to be the player that finish his career with 1 team to try to get a ring.

Notable to me that there were two Kobes drafted in the first round… Two Kobe Bs at that… That’s impact showing up in a way I would not have expected.

He's still arguably the greatest or second greatest Blazer ever, and both Bill Walton and Clyde finished their careers with other teams and still are welcomed back

They'll get over the shit

Caught some Wizards talk on the Meet The Press Post Game yesterday-- Chuck Todd with some interesting talk on the DC sports scene, asks Cornell Belcher if he is comfortable supporting a team owned by the Qatari government.:
18:18-

I didn't realize #TheDistrict was at risk of losing both the Wizards and Capitals...

@Amajorfucup, is your city turning into the East Coast Oakland?

Man that shit would be devastating to the downtown area....

I wonder how much of this has to do with all the violence in the area.....Damn Crystal City though? FUCK

I don't study crime statistics but I used to spend a lot of time in that area pre-pandemic and never thought of it as violent. I'm not contesting your description, just surprised.

Yeah it's crazy IMO compared to pre-pandemic.

People getting shot at the funeral home and getting shot at actually funerals were things I have never seen before and while I am not a Washingtonian, I did live there since 2003 and just recently relocated to Charlotte a few months ago.....

No one gives a fuck honestly.. Both were "only" in DC since the mid 90s (were in landover prior). If they move near Amazon HQ thats literally across the street from city line and still next to metro station.

Nah.. its too large a market with far too much money.. And again, teams leaving the city are literally going across the street. They wont dare leave the DMV. Hell, the Skins just sold for the most money of any professional sport in history.. and they been a shit show run into the ground product for most part of Snyders reign.

I didn't know that about Landover... But as someone interested in plunking down the big bucks for as many as ten Wizards games next year, I just looked it up and my 27 minute straight shot on the metro to Capital One Arena would turn into a 49 minute commute that requires a transfer. Situated in NW DC, I could walk there in an hour, as opposed to 2.25 hours to the Amazon HQ2.

In Southeast DC, from Nationals Park, the trip by car is more than tripled in time, 7 minutes to 22 (by non-rush hour estimates). A 15 minute metro ride becomes an hour with transfers!

Big difference between "DC" and "the DMV" market-- Probably shifts the attendance base quite a bit. Bet you would see less black people at the games. Not across the street at all by my book.

I doubt it. Those willing and able to go to the games will still go imo... Its gonna continue to attract who it attracts. Take the Nats for example.. its location and proximity to "Real DC" dont change the attending demo. Also, crystal city vicinity is and has always been frequented by Wiz attendance base types.

I assume you're a green line guy? Crystal City is blue and yellow.
