Next 4 first rounders...damn

All they need now are shooters and rebounders. There are a lot of talented cats in the d league and im sure some veterans seeking a chip will take a small contract to play along side these dudes

Suns offer Steve Nash $12 million over two years

Reports are circulating that the Toronto Raptors have offered Steve Nash a contract worth $36 million over three years, but little has been said about what the Phoenix Suns, Nash's former current team have put on the table.

If both reports are true then, well, you can kiss Nash goodbye, because an offer of $6 million per year by the Suns will surely not be enough to keep him around.

To put it in perspective, that deal would put Nash behind Josh Childress and about on par with Channing Frye.

Sure, Nash is 38 and not the player he once was. But he still averaged 12.5 points and 10.7 assists per game last season, the second number being good enough for second- best in the NBA. While the point guard may have been willing to take some kind of discount to stay in the Valley, there is little chance he'll find this offer to be satisfactory.

Suns Considering Maximum Four-Year, $58M Offer To Eric Gordon

The Suns met with Eric Gordon on Monday evening.

Sources say Phoenix is considering offering Gordon a maximum four-year, $58 million.

Gordon is a restricted free agent, giving the Hornets an opportunity to match any offer sheet he signs with a rival team.

The Nets are gonna own NY....Nicks stay losing:lol:

How are the Knicks losing? We never had a shot at Howard.
Or is that brooklyn's world famous self-aggrandizing bias coming through again?

Wait till they hit the court to start talking shit. Free agency isn't even over yet...

The Knicks aren't worried about the nets. The nets r doing their thing and the Knicks are doing theirs. They want NY they have to take it. If they don't that's on them.

Anyway nets just signed a euro. Trading for Dwight is seems dead unless they make a 5team deal and find someone to take their bad contracts and Orlandos bad contracts too.

Heat Make Contact With Rashard Lewis

Rashard Lewis has received multiple overtures from the Heat.

"I've talked to the Heat several times, and we'll continue to talk to them," Lewis’ representative, Tony Dutt, said. "We're just looking at all of the options at this point and we're going to sit down later in the week and figure out the top three or four spots that make sense and then he may visit those particular spots."

Dutt indicated Lewis is looking for the right fit.

"We're trying to combine and get the best value based on situation, based on opportunity, based on winning," he said. "So everything that the Heat have is a good fit. And there's two, three other situations that are probably equal to that that we're looking at."

Clipers putting in work...

Working On Extension for 1 year with Chauncey Billups

Clippers also have talked to Jamal Crawford's agent

While the Clippers continued putting the final details on a contract extension for Blake Griffin, they spent Sunday on the phone talking to the representatives of their own and other free agents.

The Clippers offered Griffin a five-year, $95-million extension when the free-agency period began Saturday night. Though the team has been given every indication that Griffin will agree to the deal, the Clippers and the All-Star power forward's agent are working on finalizing things.

Griffin, who will make $7.2 million next season, can negotiate a five-year deal with an opt-out clause after the fourth season or he can get a four-year deal and get the opt-out clause after three seasons. There also could be a signing bonus.

Either way, Griffin could be with the Clippers through the 2017-18 season.

Griffin, like all free agents, can't sign the extension until the 10-day moratorium is lifted on July 11.

The Clippers got the backup scoring big man they were looking for by acquiring Lamar Odom from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for sending Mo Williams to the Utah Jazz.

The Clippers have now turned their attention to getting a shooting guard.

Chauncey Billups, who played in 20 of the 66 games before suffering a season-ending left Achilles' tendon injury, remains the Clippers' top target. Billups' agent and the Clippers are working on a one-year deal.

Billups, a 14-year veteran who turns 36 in September, has said he plans on being back playing no later than December.

The Clippers also have talked to Jamal Crawford's agent. Crawford, who opted out of his $5.2-million contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, probably will seek the mid-level exception that starts at $5 million for the first two years of a four-year deal.

The length of the contract with Crawford is something the Clippers have to sort out.

The Clippers also have interest in bringing back free-agent guards Randy Foye and Nick Young. The Lakers also have an interest in Young.

The Clippers are also interested in shooting guards Ray Allen and Jason Terry.

The Clippers currently have a payroll of $59 million.

Their preference is not to exceed the luxury-tax threshold, which is $70.307 million for the upcoming season.

If the Clippers get close to the tax or go over it, they may be forced to use the amnesty provision on a player, and that player probably would be forward Ryan Gomes and his $4-million salary.

Under the new collective bargaining agreement, a team can waive one player and have his entire salary removed from the team's salary cap and for tax purposes.

The player will get his entire salary.

Clippers Prepare Offers To Crawford, Billups
Jul 03, 2012 10:21 AM EDT

The Clippers plan to offer free agent contracts to Jamal Crawford and Chauncey Billups.

Crawford, who is scheduled to visit the Clippers on Tuesday, is expected to receive a multi-year deal that starts at the mid-level exception.

Billups will reportedly receive a one-year, $4 million offer from the Clippers, sources said.

Blazers reach out to PG Chauncey Billups

Chris Haynes, CSNNW.com Trail Blazers Insider (@ChrisBHaynes)

The Portland Trail Blazers are attempting to make major moves during the early stages of this free-agency period.

CSNNW.com has learned from a source close to the situation that the Trail Blazers are one of several teams who have reached out to the representatives of unrestricted free agent point guard Chauncey Billups.

The Trail Blazers need a veteran point guard to help mentor their new franchise point guard in Damian Lillard, and Billups would be an ideal candidate. I'm told that, “Billups is exploring all of his options.”

General manger, Neil Olshey, is very fond of Billups and likewise. That relationship could play a major factor.

Billups only played in 20 games last season as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers before his season was cut short due to a torn left Achilles tendon he sustained in early February.

He has a career average of 15.5 points per game, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assist.

Batum to meet with Blazers this week

Restricted free agent forward, Nicolas Batum, will meet with the Portland Trail Blazers this Thursday or Friday in Portland, a league source says.

As a courtesy, Batum wants to hear the Trail Blazers' pitch before he proceeds to gauge the interest level of other teams, the same source says.

Batum just came off of a visit with the Minnesota Timberwolves in which he met with owner Glen Taylor, general manager David Kahn, and head coach Rick Adelman. The source says, “talks went great.”

The New Orleans Hornets and Toronto Raptors are also team's he's expected to visit later on. The Trail Blazers can match any offer Batum receives out on the market and offer sheets can't be signed until July 11.

Last season, Batum tallied career highs in points (13.9), rebounds (4.6), blocks (1.0), and steals (1.0).

Update:

I just got word Batum's two options at this point, are the Trail Blazers and the Timberwolves. He's focused on coming to an agreement with one of them and has postponed all other team visits.

The New Orleans Hornet’s consideration of Nicolas Batum

July 2, 2012 New Orleans Times
The Hornet’s may be targeting Portland Trail Blazers Nicolas Batum, who is already also considering an offer from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Joining the Hornet’s would be reunion for Batum as the Hornet’s Monty Williams coached Batum when he was an assistant with the Trail Blazers.

Jonny Flynn receiving interest from the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks

Flynn who has played for the Raptors, Rockets, and last season the Trail Blazers. The mutual interest is just in its beginning stages and no visits have yet been arranged. Flynn will need to wait for higher profile point guards to settle down with a team before he is offered any serious deals.

Landry Fields & Raptors Agree To Offer Sheet

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine
Just going up online and via SportsCenter: Raptors and Knicks' RFA Landry Fields have agreed to three-year offer sheet

Chad Ford @chadfordinsider
In other words, by signing Fields to offer sheet, Raptors probably killed talk of a Suns-Knicks sign-and-trade for Nash

The Raptors have agreed to terms on an offer sheet with Knicks restricted free agent Landry Fields, reports ESPN.com's Marc Stein (Twitter link). The agreement is for three years, according to Stein. When Fields officially signs the offer sheet after the July moratorium ends, the Knicks will have three days to match it.
The precise value of the offer is unknown, according to Stein, but he says it's expected to have a spike in the third year similar to Omer Asik's agreement with the Rockets and could approach $20MM (Twitter links). The Knicks have Fields' Early Bird rights and can match any offer for the restricted free agent, but the Gilbert Arenas provision allows for a significant third-year raise.

The Raptors' agreement with Fields not only puts them in the driver's seat to land the young wing, but also poses a serious roadblock for the Knicks' pursuit of Steve Nash. The Suns were said to be interested in Fields in a sign-and-trade deal for Nash, so New York may not have the pieces to make a trade work anymore.

As Zach Lowe of SI.com tweets, the Raptors may be forced to amnesty Jose Calderon if they hope to sign both Fields and Nash.

I think Fields signing is smart move for Raptors. Toronto essentially paid $20M to knock Knicks out of running for Nash

Mirza Teletovic Reaches Deal With Nets
Jul 03, 2012 12:04 PM EDT

The Nets have reached a deal in principle to sign Mirza Teletovic, according to a source.

Teletovic, a 26-year-old power forward, was most recently with Caja Laboral where he averaged 17.0 points and 6.2 rebounds over 53 total games.

Chad Ford reports Teletovic will receive a three-year, $15.675 million deal using the mid-level exception.

Teletovic has the same agent as Deron Williams.

With Teletovic agreeing to the MLE, Jason Kidd would have to sign for a smaller contract if he joins the Nets

Raptors paid Fields $20 mill?? LMAO

Take that nigga for that price! Raptors want to get Nash so bad they cockblocked NY from trading Fields in a S&T.

I ain't even mad. Even if they got Nash Fields can't hit shots consistently.

Thanks for your first year Laundry enjoy your money.

Chad Ford @chadfordinsider

Knicks could offer Shumpert, Douglas, Gadzuric, Harrellson & Jordan to Suns & get Nash to starting # of $9.9 M. 4 years, $42M trump Raps?

If they're going to pay that much for Fields then they can have him. That's way too much to pay for him. He hasn't been the same since the first half of his rookie season.
