Evans will slip into the Nets $3M trade exception.

Understand that Killa....
Deal is 5 million, trade exception is 3 million, was wondering if only 2 million will count towards the books?
Guess Evans is coming to replace Kris.

Boston keeps building — how will it affect Heat’s Allen pursuit?
July 3rd, 2012 by Ethan J. Skolnick

As it turned out, the Heat couldn’t have signed Jason Terry.

Miami only had three years and $9.3 million to offer, while the Celtics — under the tax line — were able to give him a three year deal worth more than $15 million.

Still, there were some reasons why Terry made more sense for Miami than Ray Allen does. Terry is lethal in transition. And he’s comfortable coming off the bench, which was an issue for Allen in Boston late last season, until Avery Bradley got hurt.

It’s still possible, believe it or not, that Boston could end up with both, even after agreeing to a three-year, $34 million extension with Kevin Garnett and even while working on a new deal with Jeff Green, who missed last season with a heart condition. Doc Rivers has made it clear that he still wants Allen back, and Terry told FoxSportsFlorida that he would be open to it

But is Allen?

We’ll know more Thursday, after he meets with the Heat.

Again, Allen wasn’t enamored with a reduced role last season. Now Terry essentially replaces Keyon Dooling on the Celtics roster, and that upgrade will cut into the available perimeter minutes. Even if Paul Pierce plays less, and Allen plays some small forward, it is possible he could actually get more time in Miami.

Surely, that will be part of Pat Riley’s pitch.

Allen goes to the Heat and he will instantly have starter minutes...

Stay in Boston and his role will be greatly reduced... take your pick Allen

Truly a wide gulf remains between Rockets and point guard Goran Dragic on an extension. Everyone in talks agrees: Sides far apart.

Raptors paid Fields $20 mill?? LMAO

Take that nigga for that price! Raptors want to get Nash so bad they cockblocked NY from trading Fields in a S&T.

I ain't even mad. Even if they got Nash Fields can't hit shots consistently.

Thanks for your first year Laundry enjoy your money.

Great move by the Raptors. They are putting the Knicks in a position to have to give an asset they don't want to part with, Iman Shumpert, if they truly want to acquire Nash.

I'd be surprised if more teams don't do this.

I'm not surprised. I don't know what makes Dragic think that he should get 10 million a year but if I were them I'd take Jameer or Steve Nash for less money and then an understudy for them to help groom. Hell I'd bring Aaron Brooks back before I'd pay Dragic 10 mil per.

Nets are using midlevel exception to sign Teletovic to 3-yr deal. Means: 1. they cannot go over $74 mil payroll. 2. Can't use MLE for Kidd

Not sure about this killa what you think??

Nets, Bucks Discussing Ersan Ilyasova Sign-And-Trade If Dwight Howard Deal Fails, Reports Say

The Brooklyn Nets continue to work to acquire Dwight Howard in a trade with the Orlando Magic, but if that fails, they have a backup plan in place. The Nets have talked to the Milwaukee Bucks about conducting a sign-and-trade for forward Ersan Ilyasova, with Kris Humphries being the likely piece heading back to Milwaukee. The news was first reported by Peter Vescey and confirmed by the New York Post's Fred Kerber.

The Nets appear to want to recruit a third team to pull off this complicated maneuver to land Ilyasova if the Howard trade falls through. It remains unclear who that third team would be, but one's best guess is that Humphries would be re-routed to that squad, with additional assets heading to the Bucks

Ilyasova had a breakout year for the Bucks last season, averaging 13 points and 8.8 rebounds per game while shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range. The 25-year-old was especially good in the second half of last season.

I'm not a nets fan but damn they goin all out, they not playing, they want to make sure them seats is full in that new arena

Deron Resigns 5yrs 100 million

A mixture of poorly conceived moves by GM Billy King (dealing a lottery pick for Wallace, then overpaying him in a market that would have yielded a contract likely half its length and financial scope in order to save face) and immaturity on Howard's part has resulted in a scenario that's pretty good instead of great for Brooklyn, and potentially disastrous for Howard.

still waiting on the Knicks to make a move...

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

Shit i'm still waiting to see if the Nuggets are getting McGee locked up. All the free agency talk is about a person that is not even a free agent(Howard) and one that is no longer. The 11th is a week away. Hopefully more moves will be made around the league, albeit much less significant.

apparently kidd is gonna choose the knicks (i'll believe it when its official)...tyson's been recruiting him.

and Dallas is leaning toward doing nothing if they can't trade for dwight and instead clearing cap to get dwight and cp3 in 2013.

I wonder where Rudy Gay will end up? I would love to see him in Chicago but Philly is a likely destination.

I think Houston has made things more complicated for Denver. McGee isn't going to get Roy Hibbert money but if Asik can get 8 mil a year McGee is probably going to ask for more than that.

Market for Lin heating up now that DWill is off the market...

Both Rockets and Mavs throwing their names in the hat...Houston is even going to make an offer.

Rockets to host Knicks' Lin, expected to make contract offer
CBSSports.com wire reports
July 3, 2012 9:19 PM ET

NEW YORK -- Two people with knowledge of the plans say Jeremy Lin will visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, and the New York Knicks guard is expected to get a contract offer.

The Rockets waived Lin last year and he was claimed by the Knicks, turning into a breakout star when he landed the starting point guard job. Now with Goran Dragic not expected to return, Houston may want Lin back.

One of the people tells the Associated Press on Tuesday the Rockets are planning to make Lin a multiyear offer, though the Knicks can match it and have said they intend to keep the restricted free agent. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the negotiations were to remain private.

The Mavericks' failure to reel in Deron Williams has opened the team up to a myriad of possibilities when it comes to their point guard position. And according to ESPN's Marc Stein, Knicks guard Jeremy Lin could be in the team's plans.
On Tuesday, Stein tweeted: "Mavs' PG priorities from here, sources say, are [Steve] Nash and Jeremy Lin and re-signing J-Kidd. Team has not yet decided if it'll pursue [Goran] Dragic."
The Mavs' interest in Nash and re-signing Jason Kidd have already been widely reported, but a possible pursuit of Lin seems to be a new wrinkle in the team's plans.
Lin, an undrafted second-year guard out of Harvard, took the NBA by storm last year after coming out of nowhere to lead a resurgent Knicks team back into playoff contention. Lin had scored in double figures just once in 38 career appearances before running of a streak of six-straight games of 20 or more points in February.
Lin is a restricted free agent, meaning the Knicks will have the opportunity to match any offer sheet he signs. But with the amount of cap space the Mavs have to work with, they could conceivably make Lin an offer that the Knicks wouldn't match.

knicks will match any offer... amare is off the books in year three, so if teams backload the deal it won't hurt the team and dolan will pay the lux penalty anyway

I pray you're right. We'd look really fucking stupid to lose fields, Nash, AND Lin. :smh:

Eric Gordon, Suns agree on contract

Eric Gordon and the Phoenix Suns have agreed to terms on a maximum-salaried contract worth $58 million over four years.

Gordon, the New Orleans Hornets' star shooting guard, will sign the offer sheet on July 11th. Because Gordon is a restricted free agent, the Hornets will then have three days to match the offer.

New Orleans has claimed all along that it will match any offer Gordon receives, but Gordon is hoping the Hornets do not match.

Gordon said Tuesday night that his preference is to play for the Suns, not the Hornets.

"After visiting the Suns, the impression the organization made on me was incredible," Gordon told ESPN.com. "Mr. (Robert) Sarver, Lon Babby, Lance Blanks, the Front Office Staff and Coach (Alvin) Gentry run a first-class organization, and I strongly feel they are the right franchise for me. Phoenix is just where my heart is now."

Gordon's desire to leave the Hornets puts a damper on what had been a terrific week for the club. Last Thursday, New Orleans selected Anthony Davis with the No. 1 pick in the draft and guard Austin Rivers at No. 10.

The league-wide assumption was that Gordon and the two rookies would form a trio that would lead the Hornets back to relevance. Of course, that could still be the case if New Orleans matches the offer.

But with Gordon preferring to play in Phoenix, the Hornets may choose to cut ties with him.

I think losing Stum is worst than Lin or Not getting Nash.
Houston might throw something huge at Lin, they know how that Asian market works.

Ain't surprised Eric is trying to walk. The Hornets know this shit would happen. The main reason Austin Rivers got drafted.
