***Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread***

You see how he threw in that little sly comment about the fans "Not understanding the game"

One racist brit sports commentator not on skysports and America gets him:rolleyes::smh:

This has been my gripe the entire tournament. Africans or anyone "black" for that matter are only capable of possessing pace and strength. Based on some of the commentary, we totally lack intelligence, touch on the ball, an appreciation for tactics et al. As I said before, had an African handled the ball as Suarez had, the very same commentators that are praising Suarez's intellect and knowledge of the rules would be furious....:smh:

Yep...Looks like if I dont get to brazil in 2014 I will have to get a different commentary team than Americas.

I have had no prob with these commentators. dont really pay much attention to them to be honest. harkes usually has good insight.

Forlan is the shit

Even though he his team ain't in the finals, he is the MVP of the whole world cup to me. He should get the Golden Ball, because he literally carried that team, more so than any of the players thats gonna play in the finals tomorrow.

Jerome Boateng needs to be in the Premiership asap. Dude is quality with every touch.

Low was retarded for taking Boateng off the last game if you ask me. Yeah, he left men unmarked a couple times, but he should not have been pulled.

Spain would HAVE LOST if Muller played last game. They luck he got a Yellow in that Argentina game.

Who is that American commentator? I can't stand that cat. I would of preferred if they had just had the British commentators.

I hear it on this forum where in recent days a member has been claiming that Africans suffer from poor decision making... First we did not have "mental stamina", but that seemed to die with the Ghanaian defeat of the USA...

Funny how neither prevailed in the end.

"Why do they argue with this guy DJCandle???"

Forlan should win the Golden Ball for real! He damn near brought his team back, AGAIN!

The little bugger has impeccable striking technique.. I have seen him score sensational goals from distance at Athletico... He came from way behind and beat Eto'o to be league top scorer (Picici) 2 years ago. He plays with Maradona's son in law...

Athletico Madrid (you will hear it called simply "Athletico"). they are in la liga so they should be on espn 3.

Yes. They are listed as on of the leagues ESPN3 will show. This cat is nice as hell on the "pitch". I'm learning a lot from this year's World Cup. I watched the last few, but this one has taught me a lot. I now know the field is often called the pitch.

There is nothing funny in the performance of Ghana... It was near damn heroic..

They are not equal, one beat the other (again), and barely fell in its quarter-final game by 5cm (2in) when the winning penalty struck the cross bar. Those who watch this game understand the substantive difference between an overrated team that was exposed by an undermanned opponent fielding 20 year old Africans. Only one team can win the World Cup at a time, meaning that many excellent teams get to go home. This Germany team (which Ghana played to almost a stalemate, is in keeping with German football) an excellent team. Argentina is an extremely excellent team. Brazil is in the same category...Uruguay is a very good team. The US is an average World Cup team, an improvement from previously being below average...

Literally! He should get the Golden Ball,

Wesley Sneijder & David Villa had some luck breaks to get a score.

Forlan literally created & converted on all of his striking opportunities. He also facilitated a few goals as well.

He strikes the ball with the best of them... not particularly fast, not a great passer or a great dribbler.. but he has impeccable striking technique, which according to Ian Darke, he practises religiously...

Top goal scorer does not seem to mean the same anymore; apparently they are now counting assists, which sounds suspiciously like American pollution of the game...

Wow, this is an improvement for you.

"The US is an average team."

Giving us way more credit than we deserve, but I like the progression on your part. Well done lad.

Forlan is a one man show. A true leader, with a strong mental.

"Us"? You are from Malagasy...or so you say. But that is not important. The US is an average team. Why do you deserve more credit than that, for surviving Slovenia and Algeria, and benefitting from Robert Green's incompetence?

I am, but I was born and raised here. Your point?

I support the land I was born and raised in. Where are you from?

Forlan has shown to be the only guy who I say had some measure of control over the jubulani ball

I hesitate to say that the little bugger is the best striker in the world, lest someone humiliate me by bringing up someone better. On my own, I know no one who can do what he does with the ball. His prowes is not just with this ball, I have seen him do the same thing with the balls they use in Europe. That is why the bugger has won a couple of Spanish La Liga scoring titles..

Why

The US fans dont like blacks...so you almost got a balotelli thing going on supporting the usmnt.

I have no problem with him supporting who ever he wants, but it disturbs me to no end to see "an American" patronising African teams by claiming they lacked fitness, then "mental stamina: and now a deficiency of decision ability...

The US fans don't like blacks?

I've rocked with tons of US fans, many of whom who are black, and the shit is kosher. White fans support the blacks on the team as one, so I don't know where you get this from.

I'm not delusional when it comes to racism, but I also don't let it consume me. There's racism everywhere you go. No country is safe from hatred from anyone. So why nitpick?

I was born and raised here. My mentality is American. My life is in America.

It's not where my parents are from. I respect it, but i'd be delusional to follow their footsteps, when my life is completely different from theirs.
