2nd round

Frra 2-1 nig

Eng 1-0 gha

ger 2-0 usa

arg 3-0 mex

hol 3-1 par

bra 2-0 chi

Ita 1-2 cam

Spa 2-0 por

The CameroonI saw today against Portugal wont do anything. They are slow in midfield, their spacing was terrible, they looked confused and were predictable. They were weak in front, sluggish in midfield and porous at the back. They did not physically bully the Portuguese, perhaps because one of them got a red card in the first half. I am sorry, but they looked miscoached and disinterested. That is one team I am taking off my list. Cameroon seems to have gone back to their old bullshit.

Riding with the Eagles:rolleyes:..who knows what to expect from those guys...since i am Nigerian...also i will support any other African team...Plus England and holland since i have spent of time of my life in both those countries...

This is a team that has much to prove. They lack hunger, and they seem deficient in talent. Until they do something, I am not placing any hope on them, though I am supporting them because they are African.

He did well in his loan to Everton.

Hope Dempsey does well.

Fuck the Yanks. The only thing they will have going for them will be hunger. England has done everything it can do to develop Yank football by opening the gates to any Yank who wants to go there, but the last time I checked, nothing and no one of importance was coming out of English football. They do well in club football, but national team games have not been their strong suit since they cheated to win the 66 World Cup at Wembley.

Re: >>> OFFICIAL WORLD CUP THREAD <<< ...Discuss....

On paper they are the best European team, in reality, they will fall in the quarterfinals as usual. My money is on France because of all the Africans on their team, The Nazis because they know how to play who, the Mafia because they somehow must be cheating even if we do not it, and Brazil just because they believe they are better. Ivory Coast, if their mind is in the right place, can make noise...but with African teams, you first have to see where their heads are. Ghana is the defending under 20 Champion, they have pride and they may say something for themselves yet.

^^^

They're the 1st or 2nd favorites to win the World Cup. But they're known for underachieving despite their talent.

They're stacked at midfield with players like Xavi, Iniesta, Silva, Alonso, Fabregas,

On the international level they have probably the two best strikers in Villa and Torres.

They also have one of the three best gk in the world.

If Xavi and Iniesta are in midfield, they will be strong. Torres does not impress me... Spain, like Argentina, start with a bang, killing people. Then somewhere along the way, they meet a real team and they are gone.

Donovan is still a bitch in my eyes. He only went on loan because an old, washed up Beckham was getting more juice than him and shining on him by being on loan at a serious (well at least traditionally serious) club in Milan. Correct me if im wrong, but didnt Donovan get run out of Bayern? Dempsey is cool with me because he was willing to actually try and establish himself in a big time league. He could have been a "star" in the MLS but instead went somewhere were he would be forced to make a name.

Yeah, he was in a bad situation in Bayern with all the forwards they had coupled with the fact that they were struggling at that time. They had Luca Toni, Podolski, Klose, and some others were choices above Donovan.

The failure he had that was more fair to call a failure IMO is his stint with Bayern Leverkusen.

Amazing. I had no idea he ever was with leverkusen. He's still a bitch though. Anyway, Allez les Bleus! & Cote d'Ivoire

I would love to see Ivory Coast progress and they are in the group of death again this time after being with Argentina and Holland in 2006.

The game against Portugal is a must see

The battle of the divers

I contemplated it. But, I am looking into moving from my current job and it would not be the best timing

I just hope that South Africans can really experience it and not be priced out of seeing games on their doorstep

Re: >>> OFFICIAL WORLD CUP THREAD <<< ...Discuss....

I already know Ghana ain't doing shit, so is the US so I'll just enjoy the tournament.

Remember Ghana beating the Czech Republic last time? Winning the World Cup is the ultimate prize for a team. But seeing a so called 'superior' side taken down by a minnow is what makes the tournament so compelling

Ghana will give Germany a tough game and could draw with them, beat Serbia and could get into the next round. But Australia could spoil the party
